The end of this school year is taking forever to get here. And just when I thought my school projects were done and over with, everyone one my teachers hit me with something new.

So, my recent shining moment. Last Saturday, my AFJROTC unit held its Annual Unit Awards Ceremony. I wasn't expecting to get anything, so by the time the names were being called out for National Awards, I began to dose off into lah lah land. The next thing I know, my brother is poking me awake and everyone's looking at me. Apparently, they called me up as the recipient of the first award of the evening, and I didn't even hear what it was they were giving me. I damn near fell out of my seat to walk up and take the award. Eventually I got a good look at it- the Daedalian Award. Yay! Short of the AFA Award, this is the biggest award the program has to offer to a cadet, for those of you who don't know that. (unless you save a life or risk your own... then there are a two more)

Everything is going smoothly these days. Just chilling and playing the guitar. I'll try to get on more often... "Try" does not mean "definitely will", but I will make an effort.

      Personal stuff:
Back from the Base. This was my first class of this Strategic Leadership graduate course offered by CMU at the base. I'm the only high school student in the class of course. The others in the room are base officials and military personnel. It's a cool class. Lots of coursework requirements though. Two more trips to go.

      Clan stuff:
I'll be updating the ARoC site soon, as well as the RvB Clone website. New positions and changes to the Chain of Command coming soon.

    • RvB Clone Reformation

      SptnReaper

The election between JOEPRO and I for the position of CAP288's Command of the RvB Clone Army was getting a little too heated and we have decided to split command of the Clones between us two. The Squads and Special teams will be split between the two sects of the Army with two separate Chains of Command leading to the conjoined command of JOEPRO and I as partners with similar background qualifications.

As one of our first acts as Commanders, we will draft a document that will both define and reorganize the RvB Clone Army under our leadership, to insure that the division of forces will never lead to a civil dispute or permanent split down the middle of the Army. New Special teams may be added to our forces, as well as a major era of recruiting to replenish the Squads.

The same as I stated before, ShotgunChief and Spartan45 will be on my staff as my Second and Third in Command. JOEPRO will have his own staff members, organized his own way. Over time, the RvB Clones will regrow and make a come back during this time of peace and reformation.

Thanks to all those who supported me in my last journal and I look forward to a bright future for the RvB CA.

-SptnReaper, Co-Commander of the RvB Clone Troopers

    • Running for Leadership

      SptnReaper

Well, I'm interested in running for the position of Commander of the RvB Clone Army, to eventually replace CAP288 when he decides to retire his authority. I've been with the Clones since early 2006, working my way up the ranks from Clone basic to Squad Sergeant, to Squad Leader. I've been in November Squad, Galactica Squad, and Whiskey Squad, two of which I have command over. I was around during three clan engagements as an infiltrator in my starting days and have acted as a support field ally for over a year and a half. The two of the ARoC's original founding clans were built to protect and support the RvB Clones, and have since then become the Republic we have today.

Now, I can't campaign without admitting my faults, and risk having others expose me for something I'm not. There was a time where I was active in a force that opposed the RvB Clones. This was a brief and precise engagement that ended with fair terms met by both sides of the conflict. I have redeemed myself two times over by protecting both the members of the Clone Army and their reputation as Keepers of the Peace.

I have no intention of making the RvB Clone Army a part of the ARoC. They are to remain a single clan without excess leadership or tyrant rule, for as long as I am in this business. Though, the ARoC is always a sworn ally of the RvB Clones, to CAP288, and to any and all clans that seek our aid. I only wish to preserve the life and reputation of the RvB Clones for as long as possible. Should I be so lucky as to stay in command for a long enough duration, my plan would be to retire after a certain term of office and hold yet another election to eventually replace me.

If I'm more so elected to replace Tyler (CAP288), my good friend, and become the future Commander of the RvB Clones, I would position ShotgunChief as my Second in Command, and Spartan45 as my Third in Command.

Votes and support are welcome in this journal. Ranking supporters will be listed in this journal.

Went to the library and checked out four or five books on Buddhism and Philosophy, my two new favorite subjects at the moment. I'll read them for a while, discuss the material with Osaka for a few weeks, maybe months, and will try to put pencil to paper on our own subject matter to produce some kind of topic piece. She and I have talked about it before, but work and school tend to take up time. Free time is good though. If anyone wants to contribute, drop me a message or comment and we might quote you or something. If things turn out well enough, I might try to get the thing published with Osaka and I as the Co-authors. (Lots of citing involved...)

Journals are always open for free discussion on this stuff too.

And how's it going with you all then?

Both of you, that's why it's hard to say. :) The largest difference is that you and I get into extended discussions with paragraphs of ideas that keep us thinking; with him, we usually converse back and forth about life, and it gives us a place to complain to sometimes when stuff's not going well, without any digging deep or judging. We're very different people but somehow don't annoy each other. :) Definitely not saying you judge or dig too deep, just comparing the general subject matter. I love talking with you :) You're a very real friend to me, not the kind that I'll refer to in conversation and qualify with "that's this guy I talk to on RvB".
