      Ok guys, it's story time.

Back in Spring League of 2008 after Rule 76 had lost in the playoffs, a 14 year old runner named Spud H3ad and a college kid named Zerosum were having a discussion about what they would do during Summer League. Spud H3ad starting talking about how if they started practicing with a new starting lineup of Doer, himself, lord stanley, and zerosum, that they would be pretty competitive, as doer was really improving. Suddenly, zerosum interrupted saying that he was joining "Super" Separate Intelligence. Spud H3ad was dumbfounded, being told that he could team up with the "lesser" players from SI, like reubachi and MBR. Thinking of this offer as an insult, Spud H3ad moved on. Not knowing what to do, he tried forming a team with his good friend doer called Gold Venom. Much like the name, the team failed miserably before the season even started. Luckily, spud's good friend doer discovered a group of people much like the two former rule 76 players. Two tanks called iTree and iTrickk were looking for a team. These two groups of good IRL friends decided to team up, and thus, a wonderful team emerged. They started scrimming a team called That's What She Said weekly, and constantly improved their skills. Spud started playing hammer practice and became the great hybrid he was truly meant to be. Although nobody gave this team a chance, they truly believed that they had potential.
When playoffs came, the most wonderful thing happened. Spud and Doer got a chance to beat the players that abandoned them. They got matched up with "Super" Separate Intelligence. When other players were voting on who would win, everybody thought that Separate Intelligence would win handily. When the game actually was played, SI got a huge surprise. This group of players that zerosum had abandoned came out victorious, in a closely fought 5-4 game. Not only that, but it had happened on a live stream for everyone to see! It was a wonderful moment for Doerstopper and Spud H3ad. They rode this momentum into the next round of playoffs to go up 3-0 on another super team, Shut Your Lips and Learn. After getting scored on four straight times, this group of kids that nobody gave a chance stole the bomb and seemed to be gaining momentum. Suddenly, a kid named Pie decided to RTDS and then steal the bomb and score. It was very anticlimactic.
Sadly, the team disbanded after the season, mainly because spud was stupid and was pulled an aj cena.
But the team is back, after a miraculous 12 hour time period where spud h3ad managed to contact most of the original members. This team which had a great first season, is called Cuban Raft Riders, and this is their team thread. Their roster, both past and present, is as follows. Members who are, for whatever reason, no longer playing with us will be crossed out, but welcome to return at any time.

iTREE - Former Captain - Tank - Current Starter

      G0 G0VS I TRICKK I - Tank - Current Starter

      l SpudHead l (D Hans) (Spud H3ad) - Current Captain - Hybrid - Current Starter

Doerstopper - Hybrid - Former Starter - He made a commitment to another team, and we respect his decision to stay.

StapleZ isCuban - Tank - Former Team Trash Talker - He was taken from us by the plague known as World of Warcraft.

playerhater72 - Tank - Random Kid I Know - I don't know where the fuck this guy is anymore.

And now for the new members:

ii King0 ii - Hybrid - Don't worry, he'll be here. We promise. - Still MIA, actually. I feel like my promise might not hold up.... Holy fuck he's MIA no more.

      T3hFox - Hybrid - We'll probably use him as a tank. - Starter? We'll see.

zeke EP - Runner - Some randy friend of trickk and tree's that doesn't have a life, so we recruited him. - Starter? We'll see.

caleb loves you - Hybrid - Some BK we picked up off the streets. Apparently he's played a little before. - Starter? We'll see.

Aj DaJuiceMayne - Hybrid - He mikinater'd his way on the team. He may end up starting after his 5 game suspension. Who knows. We'll see.

The roster will be updated as it changes. We intend to play in the ammy league, but we will move up to Pro if it is needed.

      SpudHead

It seems as if this needs its own thread, at least according to one community member.

As Grifballhub barely links to grifball.com(how many links do you have to click from the homepage), rarely covers the Pro League minues playoff matches, and in general advertises more about the GGL and the AGLA, we should seriously consider the AGLA's affiliation with GrifballHub.

By no means am I saying that we should break all ties. In fact, I think the league would die even faster if this happened. What needs to happen is for GrifballHub to change it's publicity of Pro, with more general support, or for the AGLA to slowly start breaking ties. Make our own website with a functioning stats system(lolgrifball.com), somehow get Bungie to notice and start advertising to the new site, etc.

Seems like a radical idea? Maybe. But look at how much better the Hub's league(GGL) has been doing than the real, competitive league. I'm of the opinion that a lot of potential new players get linked to grifballhub, miss posts about the real league, and either give up or join the GGL, contemplating joining the AGLA later.

      Thoughts?

It's time that we all mourn our friend, who in his last couple of months was but a glimpse of his former glory. Let's all mourn, and remember the good times when he was at his finest. You do get 5 years of eligibility for college, so technically you have 4.5 years! As for meeting up in the future, let me know if you ever travel to Colorado or California. Those would be the most likely scenarios.

Well when I played for CU, we went North Carolina, Florida, Arizona and California in the Spring. In the fall we did Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.

The team I'm on now is the level after college and they keep to California because they are lame. I don't really get to travel far for them. The team I coach also doesn't like to travel far as it's the program's second year so I probably won't leave the state.

The funny thing is the number one comparison career wise for Rice is Moss. I did just read something that I do agree with.

No, he's not Jerry Rice, he doesn't have Rice's dedication to football and cut throat desire to be the best every single day.

Moss has more talent than Rice by far, but has none of his mental focus.

I do agree Moss has more potential. So do guys like Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson. They grew up in an age where weight training and things like that are improved. Just like in twenty or so years, I'm sure there will be receivers that make Moss, Fitzgerald, and Johnson look like...Wes Welker in comparison. That's why you have to compare guys to their own era. It's difficult to do though since Rice played in an era that was still mostly focused on running the ball. The current era is much more pass heavy by comparison. Sort of like how it's hard to compare pitchers from the dead ball era of the early 1900's to now. The conditions of different. Rice in his prime though was clearly the best receiver of his era and few would argue against Moss being the best of his. I think the difference is that Rice was far better than his next closest competitor, that was probably Irvin or someone, than Moss is over his next closest competitor. I don't know who that would be though. Maybe TO early on and probably Fitzgerald or Johnson now. Then again, of course the competition is stiffer since as I mentioned, training and other things have progressed.

There's no "wrong" answer. I'll go ahead and say I win since I'm older, wiser, and Moss is still 55 TD, 610 receptions, and 8,300 yards behind Rice's all-time records. Moss did take Rice's single season TD record though. Granted, Rice had 12 games to score his 22 while Moss needed 16 to get 23. The '07 Patriots also threw the ball 57% of the time. The '87 49ers threw the ball only 49% of the time. That's a big difference.

    • sphinxter

Yes, Sanders was legit. I still think Jim Brown was the best RB of all time though. Obviously, I never saw Jim Brown play, but from what I've heard and footage, I still always pick him.

That would give all of the credit to Montana and Young. I assume you just ignored the QBs he played with after he left the 9ers long after he should have retired. Still, the WR has just as much to do with completing the pass and scoring TDs as the QB. The WR has to get open. He also is the one that has to do something with the ball after getting it. There was no one better at route running and running after the catch as Rice. Moss was, and still is, a freak of nature. In the red zone, I would take Moss over Rice since I could throw the ball up to Moss and he'd go get it. In the open field, I'd take Rice though. Especially since Rice was never accused of giving up and you know that he will always give his best effort.

    • sphinxter

I and many, many others disagree with you. A running back can't be the best ever. He has to depend on his offensive line unless he's Barry Sanders. A QB can't be the best ever for the same reason. Every member of the team needs someone else doing their job in order to do theirs well. Football is the ultimate team sport for that reason. Basketball needs the next most teamwork, but one guy can decide to just take over the game every now and then. Baseball is an individual sport wrapped up in a team coating.

    • sphinxter

Not homerism. Yours is homerism backed by basically nothing. Mine is a widely held opinion backed by stats...Moss did have a good game yesterday though. Like I said, he's still a legit threat. I just personally think others are better. He's still a guy that commands respect. I think it's funny that Revis wanted nothing to do with him. Revis is a giant vagina since Moss burned him in New England.

    • sphinxter

Pfff, now you're just being silly. You're a silly goose...Rice is the best player ever. Not just best receiver ever, best player. He also wasn't prone to little temper tantrums like Moss is when he doesn't get his way.

Whoa, yes, Moss in his prime I'd take over just about anyone ever who isn't named Jerry Rice. However, Moss isn't in his prime anymore. He is pretty old for a receiver and doesn't have motivation most of the time. I'll take the younger and currently faster guys over him any day.

    • sphinxter

Every guy I mentioned has put up better numbers, at least receptions and yardage, than R.Moss this season. Maybe a motivated Moss moves ahead of some of those guys and we both agree that he will probably be motivated in at least the start. However, I'd still take every other guy I mentioned in the long run since you never know when Moss will decide he doesn't wish to try anymore.

    • sphinxter

Top ten still? That is probably going a little too far. I mean, he has nine receptions for 139 yards and three touchdowns. That's with Brady throwing the ball to him. None of those are even close to top ten stats, besides the TD which is tied with a bunch of people for sixth. He isn't a top ten fantasy receiver right now either. He's still really good and commands attention. That's especially true when he actually tries. Which of course he will for at least a little while after being traded. However, there are at least ten receivers I'd rather have over Moss right now...Randy isn't even the best receiver with the last name of Moss anymore. Santana has him beat.

I'd go Wayne, White, Boldin, Andre Johnson...I'd still keep Fitzgerald in there despite not having anyone to throw to him...Calvin Johnson too despite not having a QB...S.Moss as I mentioned...Miles Austin...Desean Jackson...That's nine. I might put slot receivers like Welker and Collie in front of him too...Moss is still the best out of the "old" best receivers which includes Ochocinco, TO, and himself.

I was going to be too busy on the nights that worked the best for the rest of the team. I started working 50 hours a week right when the season started, 3/4ths of them on our league nights.

Yes, I know that you don't have to play on your scheduled night. Doesn't mean that the other nights would work for the team though. They had a better schedule and looked like they'd be more fun. No excuses, just what was going on on my end of things.

I just saw this on The Mainboard from someone else who got it from another poster on another site. Anyway, it's another intriguing idea.

Oh boy, I just read a concept that Miles (Caine) planned the entire thing….this isn't mine, and got it from a discussion from InContention. Brad, you can remove this if you want since it's not my idea, but figured it would be good for discussion.

"Alright. There is no fourth level of dreams. All the characters pretty much admit that getting to a third level is almost impossible. So that should be ruled out.

It isn’t just Fischer’s dream. It’s Cobb’s too. Fischer and Saito’s industrial espionage plot is the MacGuffin here. Nice to look at, doesn’t really matter.

Let’s ask ourselves, why would Michael Caine show up for a two scener? Because he has everything to do with the plot. Who does he handpick for the assignment? Ariadne. Could it be that she has more to do in this than design the dreams? And her role as dream architect would allow her access to a lot of places others couldn’t go.

Theory: Caine hires Ariadne not just as an architect, but as a spy. Her mission, to plant an inception on Cobb while he plants one on Fischer. Should’ve been called “Double Inception.â€Â

Cobb is in the same level as Fischer and can be incepted upon (if you will) at the same time. The idea for Cobb is to let Mal go. Caine wants him to “come back to reality†so he can see his kids. The safe for Cobb isn’t locked up, it’s in the dialogue etween him and Mal on the ledge. This dialogue is repeated almost word for word between Cobb and Saito in the final scene. Cobb realizes he’s dreaming, realizes the idea’s origin and is kicked back to reality on the airplane. The reason why none of his team talks to him at the airport, but seem to be watching over him, is that they were all in on it, and they were successful. He’s free of Mal. He can finally see his kids faces (proving it’s no dream).

Nolan loves to toy with his audiences. Mal says earlier that dreams always leave a little doubt to them, making the dreamer question reality. This is what Nolan does to the audience when he cuts from the top spinning before it falls. He leaves us with that doubt. Have we been dreaming for 2h30m? Nolan doesn’t let us off."

    • sphinxter

From what I gather, once you go to limbo, you lose all sense that you're still essentially dreaming. That's why it took Cobb and his wife so long in the first place to get out. They forgot it was just a dream. When Cobb remembered, he had to use inception to remind his wife that they were dreaming. Obviously, that worked, but then it backfired because when they got back to the real world, she still thought it wasn't real. That's why Saito grew so old because he didn't know he was dreaming until Cobb arrived and everything clicked into place for them.

    • sphinxter

Well, that stuff is easily explainable. They already stated the fact that once you're in limbo, all you have to do is die. That's why Cobb and his wife got out of limbo the first time. They got killed by the train. So, I imagine they just capped themselves with the gun that Cobb washed ashore with.

Michael Caine's character getting back to America and knowing he was going to be there is a puzzler, but it isn't too much of a stretch to think that Cobb got a hold of him some how and mentioned that he was flying to LA and if all went well, he would be a free man. Cobb did tell him that he thinks he found a way home and that's why he needed an architect for one last job. Like I said, they didn't show anything of the sort, but it isn't hard to imagine it happening off camera.

There's arguments for both sides and like I said, I'm of the mind that he was in a dream at the end there, but Nolan did leave it up for interpretation for a reason.
