Well, I haven't been posting because I did NaNoWriMo (and finished the novel, thankyewveruhmuch; now it's in editing hell), and because I've been hunting a job. While I'd rather be writing for a living, it's not paying the bills quite yet. For those who didn't know, I've been unemployed since 30 September of this year. Not a great way to begin the holiday season, I assure you.
As such, I interviewed for a service desk position at a company in Norfolk. I looked pretty damned sharp, and I was pretty damned sharp. The interviewer liked me enough to introduce me to the associate VP, and apparently, the AVP thought I was pretty cool. I got the call yesterday (Friday) with the official offer. It's a foot in the door, and it's better than I thought I would get. I start on January 6th, and I'm hoping to be there for a very long time.
It's been a tough three months. For awhile I was losing faith. I thought I'd never get another job, or at least not one that I could actually make a career. I was feeling like I would never be able to contribute to the world again, and that I would have to depend on the kindness of my family to make it. It's not a good feeling. Thankfully, I don't have to feel that way anymore.
Anyway, just thought I'd share. Much love to you all, and thanks for listening.
