      TNAI

Wow I did not think this much time has passed in my life and I'm sorry I did fall off the face of the RVB world for a bit. Life got increasingly hectic for me working for a Fortune 500 company. At this place you have to have your A game on ALL the time. If you don't they cut you loose. I work so hard every day that finding time to get on here was a challenge. I also have some wonderful news that I want to share (and no its not about a man ). The economy has been so bad for so many these days and its hard to hear any good news. With the real estate market hitting new lows I was able to do something I thought I would never be able to do ever again as a single parent.. I bought a home. That is the second reason my free time has been occupied. I have a honey do list of my own that is as long as I am tall. It has been quite a year for me. I started actively looking for homes in January making 5 bids for different places. Well one bid was accepted in April. Since then my life has been nothing but a roller coaster of work and accomplishment. I hope to get some pictures down loaded onto my computers and up loaded on here for you all to see. I have missed my RvB friends and I hope to catch up on your journals one at a time, but I can see it will take me a long time. Just be patient with me.

It was because of the new Stargate series that got me thinking of RvB again. It's not like the old series's but it's growing on me. I hope someone can send me a forum link so I can get your thoughts on it.

I hope God has blessed you in my absence and I hope to be chatting with you all soon.

      Hope

    • Do you all remember my crush?

      TNAI

I don't know how many journals back I wrote about my fondness that I had for the manager of gas I have been going to for 6 years. Data so affectionately made fun of the fact that I had a crush on 25 year old...well he's 26 now and still a CUTE as ever.

Right before my birthday I went to fill up. He saw me and waved like he always does from inside and that was my cue to go in. Well he has not seen in months and was just floored when he did. Just an update guys since October I have lost 20 pounds. I weighed myself yesterday at my girlfriends and I just went nutz. So when my desert prince saw me (he's of Lebanese decent) he about tripped on his tongue... and GET THIS>>>>>>>>> he gave me his phone number! "You and I HAVE to hook up". Did I mention he's a body builder, dark wavy hair and the deepest blue eyes? I gave him a hug and told him I would talk to him later. I ran to the car and just blurted out to the kids... HE GAVE ME HIS PHONE NUMBER! John of course said... “Mom isn't that guy like in his 20's?†I said yes and all he could say was “Wowâ€Â. Then I told him don't tell you father what happened today... LMAO! Well I won't be calling my desert prince but I will be keeping his number in my wallet for a while just because he was that little pat on the back that I'm still not done with losing weight... but I'm on my way to be a hottie again smiley0.gifsmiley0.gifsmiley0.gif

Well it's been two years in the struggle but I have finally tried on my pair of size 12 low rise Express denims and by God I was able to zip them up without having to suck in. To celebrate tonight I had pizza, cheese bread and a Wendy's hand spun shake OH BOY... !

I figured that I could have a little extra tonight. My next goal to get in my size 10 Old Navy low rise jeans...hopefully it won't take me another two years. One thing I have to say losing weight at my age is much more difficult than ever before. I'm starting to look sex-ay again :< )

    • Who's better Keith Moon or Steve Adler

      TNAI

Two journals in one day...I'm OUT OF CONTROL

John and I were at the eye glass place today waiting to get my receipt for my new sun glasses when one of the tech's ask us "who is better drummer Keith Moon or Steve Adler?". Well for those of you who don't know it I am A HUGH WHO fan. Keith Moon was the drummer for The WHO. Of course I say Keith Moon hands down. Then I ask the guy who Steve Adler was. The tech said he's the drummer for Guns-N-Roses. I say oh, okay and John and I walk away. It was not until I looked at John then I realized he was wearing a Guns-N-Rose's shirt and I was wearing a WHO shirt. Can you say extend fore finger and thumb and place on your fore heard? I told John we nerds and dorks... Mother and son, wearing their favorite rock bands on their chests. For John this was what no big deal; it’s what all the teens wear. For me ... I felt so ...soo... adolescent smiley5.gifsmiley5.gifsmiley5.gifsmiley5.gif

      Me: So?
John: That means I HAVE to buy all the new books
Me: OH NO YOU DON'T! You are fine with 3.5
      John: LOLOLOLOLOL
      Me: What?

      TNAI

Stone felt I need to put up a new journal..so here it is.

My Mothers day was wonderful because all the kids did something special for me.

Ian gave me a boquet of paper flowers and on the back were coupons that I could redeem all for me such as, one free dinner, one free hug, one free kiss...etc.

Vivian made me a card with poem in it. The front said "your awesome" "your beautiful" "I love your cooking" "I love you Mom". The inside said "My mom is a sweet as candy. My mom is a beautiful as the sunset. I love my mom beause she nice and she does nice things just for me".

John use to make me those cards and I will miss them now that he's older, but this year he blew me away. He made a wesite just for me. Welcome to the high tech gen gifts

      www.freewebs.com/3lt3ponz3r/index.htm

Click on "stuff to read" after reading the first page. What make took my breath away on that page was the third item. He remember a story that I told him a couple years ago on how I missed the event because my brother and I got in a car accident on the way there.

They all made me cry that day... in a good way for once smiley8.gif

I hope everyone has been well while I have been gone. Life just go really busy with the onset of Spring. So many things to do and not enough hours in the day to complete them. My house is a mess. I have much planting to get done and I have yet to start. My new job is still great but still overwhelming. I just want to chill for a week and do nothing.

What I could use it to win the lotto so I can afford a maid, gardner and handy man in my life but the odds of that happening are as good as me marrying Dr Rodney McKay. smiley8.gif

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend smiley12.gif

    • Ya sold out already by brownies

      TNAI

Dinner time at my house is when the children and I gather and talk about our day, thoughts, etc.

Well tonight my oldest son informed me that his "girlfriend" makes better baked goods than me. He's me....... "WHAT?!" I reminded him this last Christmas what a Kick ass job I did with all the baked goods (see picture in my images) and the cookies were my best to date. He still stood his ground... "Sara's brownies leave a great after taste for hours" *sigh, rolls eyes* you know... I KNOW he's not doing the nasty with her yet and but she has him by the nads with brownies no less. Can you imagine when he finally does do it, he's going to FORGET the female that has taken care of him all these years.

As if that was not enough to hurt my pride, my second son wanted to see what was out there for dessert. I remind him there's baklava in the refrigerator. He says okay.. and keeps rummaging through the cupboards. I said... "Hello...didn't you hear me?" He said yes but he wanted to see if there was something better. I asked what was better than baklava... well apparently Girl Scout Cookies are.

smiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gif I'm really growing less fond of the male species every day smiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gifsmiley4.gif

This one of course he JUST had to show me being that he's an ex cop. Now this one was RvB worthy. I just hope none of you have seen it yet.

      I could never go underground...

It isn't claustraphobic at all - the paths are all well lit and the 'guide' has an emergency battery flood light just in case. The rock formations are so cool to see - like being on another planet. smiley12.gif

Did you take him home with you?

Yes, I was huge... but good thing everything went well for a vaginal delivery. Though afterwards, my OB admitted that I should have had a C-section due to her size and the size of the placenta. lol. OH well.

She's growing fast, that picture was taken last month and already she's almost in 6mo clothing... she's not even 3mo yet. I see lots of clothes in our future. eeks.

It's ok TNai. Yea, Kaida's a little stinker at times. Late at night is one of those. She doesn't want to fall asleep, and when she does it's only for about 20-40min at a time... all night long. She was doing good about it a few weeks agao, then she hit a growth spur and threw it out the window.

I don't care how old they get they will always be "the babies". Congratulations for Veela! Oh my a bride in the making. I bet she will be stunning. As far as your son goes at least he's working until he figures out the whole college thing. Some just stay bums and live off mom & dad till they get thrown out. smiley8.gif

I will be posting some new pics and I promise to catch up on your journals so please do give anything away smiley1.gif

    • TheEvenStar

LOL - my 'babies' are 23 and 18 respectivly! Veela is engaged to Raynos and d3m3nt3d2 has finished high school - working at McD's till he figures out when he wants to start college....[needed a break from 'school'].

I bet your 'babies' have grown by leaps and bounds in a YEAR! Wow.... gotten to any Renaissance Faires this past year? If you get a chance to catch up with my journals - you will see I've embarked on a bit of a 'project' - it won't be 'outdoor' wear - but someday I will have to find an appropriate 'event' to wear it to... in the meantime - it does fill my 'empty' {yeah, right ! smiley8.gif } time to work on it.... very very slowly! smiley12.gif

[quoteWoman you have been on more vacations than I have since we "Friended" each other. I live vicariously through you I've worked at the same job for 10 years now - I actually accrue a decent amount of time off (PTO) pay now. I try to schedule at least a long weekend every month - it gives you something to look forward to. I used to take a mid winter and a fall break to coincide with my kids school breaks and an extended weekend for my birthday in late May / June. Now I keep pretty much the same routine - to break the year up into segments - with a vacation to look forward to in each.

I have to work on holidays that most folks are always off on. I have to work long hours, 12 + hours sometimes, and take call, and be rotated to weekend shifts in addition to my regular 40+ hours. So YES - I DO take vacations - I HAVE to - to keep my sanity and rest! I'm not getting any younger! smiley4.gif

Well, I don't actually know how bad it is, but I know the crime rate is pretty high and my mom said that it was the worst possible place I could have had something happen to my car around here.

OMG Star... like I have always thought you and I were so much on the same page on many things...but this????? GOOD GOD WOMAN HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?

I use the computer every day - since we bought our first 486DX2 in 1985. I've always been interested in maintaining them (we now have three PC's) and take care of all the updates, upgrades, and reformatting when necessary. So building my own system from 'scratch' seemed like the next step. It may cost more - but this way I don't end up with mass produced and perlaps lower quality components or uploaded software I don't want / need packaged into it. I also did NOT want Vista on my new system (there are too many bugs still).

For the record - I am typing this on the new computer - using the wireless keyboard and mouse. I've been installing and updating programs - first priority was a virus program, spy checker and firewall. Many thanks to Alpharaptor for his help with that!
