      TNAI

Back in my early 20’s when Victoria’s Secret came out with their catalog I use to get it delivered to my home. I loved VS back then. But the one thing that would tick me off was when it arrived I was like fourth person in my home to see the new issue. My two brothers and father would confiscate the damn thing the minute it arrived. So it was like, “oh yeah this like came a week ago, hereâ€Â.

Well I love VS now and still get the catalog sent to my home. Now mind you I knew this day was coming but GOD I thought I had a few more years … “Mom can I have your Victoria’s Secret catalog?†That came from John, my oldest who is turning 11 in two weeks. ** cries monstrous tears ** My baby is growing up. He begged for me not to post this in my journal… I lied to him and said “of course not sonâ€Â. I guess I should be happy he likes girls??? … ** cries more monstrous tears ** that’s all for now.

In all likely hood many of you get tired of hearing my kid stories, but I cannot help them smiley0.gif

Tonight was open house for the Ian and Vivian at the elementary school. Ian will be going to second grade; Vivian will be going to first. Now to make this as short as I can... Vivian’s Kindergarten teacher (Mrs. L) became a second grade teacher this year. Well Ian got Vivian's last year teacher and Vivian got Ian's (Mrs. J) first grade teacher.

I was in shock and very happy at the same time because I liked them both. But here is where my pride just beamed tonight. Both Ian and Vivian were requested by Mrs. J & Mrs. L to be placed in their rooms. I almost cried..my kids were WANTED by teachers. See guys I was quite the misfit of a child. I was the one teachers groaned when I got placed in there rooms. I had this "talking" issue where I'd never shut up in class... which they said was disruptive. Goes to show you that even a misfit can turn around and have great kids that teachers want in their rooms.

All I could think of was my third grade teacher Mrs. Linginfelter. That woman HATED me and till this I'm still traumatized by her memory. How I wish I could tell that old witch... yo I turned out great and so did my kids smiley12.gif

Well I took the kiddies up for the once a year pilgrimage to the Michigan Renaissance Faire... and they had a blast. I posted several new pics of the today in my images so go take a look.

The kids were the hit of the faire in their "highland" garb. Many people stopped us just to compliment how cute they were. I passed several others and of heard them saying "oh just look how cute". Even as we were leaving they got fussed over in the parking lot. I was asked by many if I had made their outfits and they were very impressed when I said yes.

We arrived at 10am and didn't leave till pass close. It rained in the morning causing the faire grounds to be very muddy, but that didn't put a damper on our day. One of the perks of working a booth; the security people won't throw you out past closing. Another perk of working there is other employees go out of their way to interact with the kids. Yes they were VIP's today.

We went to many shows, did some shopping, and listened to the bag pipers play their highland tunes. There was a caber toss as well. Just in case you don't know what a caber is; it is a 20 foot long 120 lb log of wood. Men throw it as far as they can. It really is a site watching men toss a log of wood, flipping it in mid are and having it land as straight as one can towards the front of the field.

Once again.. my feet are sore, my back aches, and I know tomorrow I will be wallowing in pain...but it was a wonderful day to add to our family memory book smiley12.gif

Yes I had fun weekend at faire unfortunatley it does come with some reprecussions. Mi Ren/Faire began on Saturday, and very soggy I might add. For those of you who do not attend faire, rain = a miserable time in garb. Even though I normally complain about being in purgatory I was happy that I worked the morning there instead of the faire grounds. By the time I did get there the rain had stopped.

It was really wonderful seeing merchants and other faire personel that I have not seen since last seaon. They were most welcoming. Seems I left a good impression last year. It was funny when some of them stumbled upon me in the new booth I was working this year. They said they went to go look for me at last years booth and were sad that they didn't see me there.

Last season I worked a booth on the main path and many came to visit me often just to say hello. This season my booth is not in so a well traveled path. So the people that made a special effort to see me went to the top of my list high regard list. Including the leader of the rogue group I assosciate with, as well as two other rogues from his group, four security personel, two merchants and several die hard MIRF rennies. I also managed to make a few new "ren friends" already, since I was invited to attend their after faire gatherings.

Next weekend is highland weekend. Scotsmen will be crawling all over the faire grounds including my two lad's. Need to get a bonnie lass outfit made for princess this week. Season started soggy but I still managed to have a great weekend. No doubt there will be more stories and pictures to follow. smiley0.gif

Guys I just cannot believe it. For weeks I dreaded this stupid birthday of mine and of all the ones I have EVER had this was the best.

Tuesday was my day with the kids and we spent it at the water park. We had a blast! If I ever get extremely rich one day I'm putting a wave pool and a lazy river in my back yard.

Friday night my best friend and I went out for pedicures, dinner and a concert in the park. During the whole night there were quite a few men who were claiming us as their "girlfriends". The flattery was wonderful and a huge ego boost.

Saturday night I had a small get together and played drunken RISK. Though it did not start out like that but can I tell you what a blast that was. I went to sleep around two and the rest of the group kept playing till about three. All but two stayed the night and today we just crashed on the couch and watched videos all day. It was around 5:30 PM when they left.

I really hope that all future birthdays are as wonderful as this turn out to be!

Okay...... I have 3 weeks left to my bet with the Lil man and I decided to try on a pair of size 12 shorts. Welllllllll.... I was able to squeeze them on!

I had John take a look at me with them on and he said "God I'm going to lose this betâ€Â

LMAO..... I told him that I could zip the shorts on...but they are tight. So I have 3 weeks to zip without them being tight. SOOOOOO the count down has begun. Three weeks I'm a comfortable size 12 orrrrr John's play station collection gets a new addition.

I will keep you all posted

    • In loving memory of Sarah Jansen

      TNAI

Those of you who read my journal have heard me mention my friend Mary who passed on years ago. Even after all these year's her husband and I have remained friends and I am often passing messages through him to her surviving family.

Last night Mary's husband called me and said something has happened in the family. Mary's oldest neice died Wednesday; she was only 11 years old. Two months older than my oldest son. At first it was thought that she had drown. The autopsey reveal that the little girl had a tumor growing in her heart, and her heart stopped beating.

I cannot tell you how upset this news made me. Yet another tragedy hit that family. A family who we all affectionally teased Mary as a real life "Walton's" family. Mary's father is a former Presbyterian minister, a man who has walked with God all his life. He lost his daughter ten years ago and now his granddaughter.

If you would please say a prayer for the soul of Sarah taken from us at such a young age. Also for her parents Dave & Sherri, and two younger sister's ... that they find strenght to continue on in life. Speaking as a parent, the loss of a child is would be a fate worse than hell. A loss no parent should endure.

The only thing that I can take comfort in is that Sarah is in heaven with her Aunt and that she is not alone. smiley12.gif

    • "You mean those pop out?"

      TNAI

Ohhhhhhh the part of parenting I would rather not deal with.

John my oldest and I were engaged in a conversation about puberty. Guys I gotta tell you, I'm hardley ever at a loss for words, but come onn............. how am I suppose to deal with questions about him turning into a man? Like I know what it's like? I told him for any REALLY private questions I'd be there for him but feel free to ask your Dad or any of my male friends. Hell I told him that I'm sure Ari, Monk & Hood would be more than HAPPY to discuss those issues with you.

I said that I just didn't feel as qualified to answer his questions as I would his sister's. Girls I know about. Then the million dollar question comes blurting out...... "You mean those (he pionts to my chest) are going to pop out on Vivian?" O>>>M>>>G... did the car erupt in laughter from all three of them. I looked at him bewildered. "of course 'those are going to pop out' on your sister.... what did you think... I was born with these? Don't you think I would have looked very strange with breasts the size of my head as an infant?"

Yes...this is one of the conversations that will go down in the family history book smiley4.gif

      TNAI

Well I started this count down to my birthday six weeks ago and now there is only one week left. With a heavy heart I shall begin the last year of my 30's *sigh*

I have seen many a journal from individual'scomplaining about turning 20 something... which of course I had to roll my eyes at, but understood as well... no one likes getting older.

That is if you are my oldest who is chomping at the bit till he turns 18 and keeps saying he's outta here... next time he does say that I'm going to ask... Uh... and where do you plan on going?

    • Oh I have knots in my stomach

      TNAI

Well tomorrow I will be giving the ex sperm donor the letter that I want to move out of state. I'm so sick right now. *SIGH*

I talked to his father last week about I was about to do. To my surprise he didn't wig out on me. He was very calm, logical and totally understood that my back is up against the wall and I need to make a life change in order for the children and I to survive. He did say this to me. He knows his son and I'd better be up for a fight, because that is just what he will do. He will try and talk to the sperm donor on my behalf...but he doubts he will get through to him. So tomorrow is when the fecal matter hits the rotating turbine.

Saturday and Sunday were grand days for the children and I. We so fun that my son asked if I could take the day off work today so the weekend would continue. I cried at that statement. I want every day of their lives to be wonderful and filled with happiness.

Yesterday I went to my friend Monk's house and Arizona was there too. For three hours the five of them played video games ( I played a couple rounds myself only to have Monk and Ari plot to annihilate me in Super Smash Brothers...but that's another journal). I listen to all of them laugh with all their hearts and my heart just swelled with love to see so many that I love just be happy. Well that was the calm before the storm. My prayers are with the Lord now. I just pray that by some miracle the ex will grant me permission to leave the state. I'm tired of battling with him. All I want and have ever wanted in my life is peace, love and harmony.

If things don't go smoothly... I have a date to meet with my attorney the day before my birthday. My prayer will be that I will be able to cancel that appointment.

Now that, is something I have all but forgotten about. I mean I was raised in a church going family, and we kinda fell out when we moved to Maryland because we couldn't find a good one. When we moved to Texas we found a really good one and everyone in the family made instant friends... except me. I was still friendly with everyone, but nothing ever happened with anyone guy or girl to be friends with. I would have no idea where to start looking for one around here. I do feel the need everyonce in a while, and I know it does help being in that envirment. But I just haven't made it a priority to look for one. It's not a bad idea though.

ah yeah understandable. Though the thing is, even though its a must see movie in my opinion you have younger children...there is some dialog that would...rather in appropriate. But I have no idea what children are hearing these days, so if you are concenred about that, which i am sure you are...better wait to pick of the DVD and just show them bits and pieces of then transforming or something.

It's Mondays at 9/8c on NBC. But the finale is Monday, so that might not be the day to actually start the show. I'm told Sci-Fi is having an all day marathon tomorrow, but like tards, they're not showing them in order. Sooo.... It's your call. I highly recommend the programme, though. Great (if not a bit familiar) stuff.

Oh, and hey, the NBC website has every episode on-line to watch, which may be a good way to get caught up on your own time. I keep forgetting about that.
