WASHINGTON ? The United States has found 500 chemical weapons in Iraq since 2003, and more weapons of mass destruction are likely to be uncovered, two Republican lawmakers said Wednesday.

"We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., said in a quickly called press conference late Wednesday afternoon.

Reading from a declassified portion of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, a Defense Department intelligence unit, Santorum said: "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq's pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist."

      - All the retro games will be 400 points. They have leaderboards, enhanced graphics (which can be toggled on or off), etc.

      - New original games will be 800-1200 points (Roboblitz, Mutant Storm Empire, Cloning Clyde, etc)

      - Every game announced will be available before the end of the year.

      - The retro titles are front-end of the summer. A few (Frogger, Pac-Man, Galaga) are coming "within the next month or so".

      - Lumines is a summer title.

      Game Info:

      - 21 games are online right now (18 new ones were shown today I believe)

      - There is a game called Small Arms that is like Smash Bros.

      - Mutant Storm Empire is one universe. so when you clear the stage a door opens up that you go through to the next stage. Really neat.

      - The code for Contra works.

      - Strong support from Namco: Pac-Man, Miss Pacman, Digg Dugg, Rally X, etc

      - Midway was pleased with its first batch of titles that they are making more.

      - Making achievements a bit more easier to get. Bejewled and Smash TV are mentioned as having ridiculously hard/impossible achievements.

      Lumines Info:

      - Downloadable skins, themes, puzzles, song packs, artist packs, and full XBL multiplayer. Partnership with Warner Music - spread across genres of music (pop, hip-hop, alternative, rock, etc). It's 1200 points and is a summer title.

XBLA game list: (26 of them so far, coming this year)

      1. Pac-Man
      2. Ms. Pac-Man
      3. Contra
      4. Super Contra
      5. Frogger
      6. Sonic the Hedgehog
      7. Time Pilot
      8. Rally-X
      9. Dig Dug
      10. Cloning Clyde
      11. Cyberball
      12. Defender
      13. Galaga
      14. Hoopworld
      15. Mad Tracks
      16. Novadrome
      17. Paper Boy
      18. RoboBlitz
      19. Root Beer Tapper
      20. Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
      21. Texas Hold'em Poker
      22. Ultimate Mortal Kombat III
      23. Lumines
      24. Small Arms
      25. Mutant Storm Empire
      26. Heavy Weapon

Lumines Live - Looks like PSP won't be the only console with a hot musical puzzle game in its library. Lumines is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Everything that was available in the original is here, and more. Live has teamed up with Warner Music, and now users can download special music video skins that play behind the puzzle you're playing. In version on the show floor, one of Madonna's latest video played behind the moving puzzles pieces. Lumines Live has the full support of Q Entertainment and Tetsuya Mizuguchi, so expectations are running high. We expect to see this one sometime this summer.

Small Arms - Indie developer Gastronaut Studios (a 4-man team) brought us Fuzzy Fever on Live Arcade. They hope to unleash another success with their upcoming diddy, Small Arms. In this game, you control odd, but cute, characters, that have both melee and projectile weapons. This could be anything, from a blow torch to a crossbow. You can play with over 4 player over live. The cast of characters includes cyborg tabby cats, assassin truffle pigs and mutant chimney sweeps. As you jump from platform to platform in this side-scroller, you can shoot one another with aiming radius of 360 degrees. It looks as hot as it sounds, and should be out some time this summer.

Cloning Clyde - The folks at Wahoo studios brings us Cloning Clyde. This is all about the adventures of a not-so-smart gent named Clyde who gets stuck inside a cloning agency and gets cloned. Turns out, he'll need his clones to help him solve interesting puzzles, all while he wears an ass-showing hospital gown. Through-out his adventures, Clyde will have the opportunity to splice his jeans with animals, and use their various traits to traverse complicated terrain. By combining with a frog, Clyde will swim better, and by combing with a frog, he'll fly. Online multiplayer and 40 single player levels will be available. The cute and stylized adventure will be available some time this summer.

Heavy Weapon - This is another indie game by Popcap Games, and it's simple to control. You're a side-scrolling tank that shoots down planes that are trying to drop nukes on you. There are two mode to explore: Mission and Survival.

Mutant Storm Empire - The folks at Pompom Games are putting out another Mutant Storm game for Live Arcade. Mutant Storm Enterprise is in 3D, and you control a space ship from a top-down view. The idea is to shoot down all of the baddies that come out of various corridor located all around the arenas you get locked in. There's also an online co-op mode so that you can enjoy the game with friends. This game should release somewhere around the holiday season.

Robo Blitz - This will be one of the star games on Live Arcade. For one, it be the first game released to use the Unreal Engine. And that may same like a tall order for a game on Live Arcade, but through Procedural Texturing, the file size is kept under 50 megabytes. The game itself is about a little robot named Blitz that rolls around a metallic world. By using physic, he must solve various puzzles to progress from level to level. The operates with no hud, and you can see the life bar for the little robot glowing on his back. He can use tractor beams to pull himself up ramps, and grab objects. Although a single player campaign will get released at launch, multiplayer and different kinds of content will get released later. We should see this out sometime around early summer.

    • Oh yes, there will be Boll!

"The reign of violence that follows will redefine the boundaries of extreme gore, physical and mental torture explored through cinema."

I don't know about you, but whenever I hear a filmmaker talking about how their horror movie is going redefine movie violence, I find myself instantly convinced that the film is doomed from the get-go. Heck, See No Evil director Gregory Dark already made a similar vow, and that film wasn't even the goriest film of this year. When the person making this vow is Uwe Boll, forgive me if I find the statement doubly dubious.

Also, if I were Uwe Boll, I would never send out a press release where I promise a film that will set new standards for mental torture. He's just setting himself up for the punchline with that one.

The movie in question is Seed, Dr. Boll's shockingly non-video game adaptation set to begin filming in mid-July starring Boll movie mainstay Will Sanderson, Ralf Moeller (Best of the Best 2, Conan the Adventurer), Michael Pare (Sanctimony - another past Boll production), and Andrew Jackson (Shadowbuilder). Fangoria reported new information regarding Seed, which Boll also scripted and is describing as an "extreme horror film". The plot is supposedly based on a true story that occurred in 1972 Seattle and revolves around a federal law that states any death row prisoner that survives three jolts in the electric chair lasting 15 seconds is allowed to go free. I've never heard of this particular true tale that Boll is basing his film on or this obscure law, but I'll just take his word for it and move on.

Seed derives its title from its lead character, psychopathic mass murderer Sam Seed. Quoting Fangoria:

"After three attempts to electrocute, complete with boiling blood that steeps from his eyes, he's still alive. The executioner, Warden Wright and the doctor collectively agree that the breathing Seed be pronounced dead. He is bound and buried alive. After biting and clawing his way to the surface, Seed, the bloodsoaked, enraged madman, is now bent on vengeance."

I guess if he bit and clawed his way to the surface and demanded they abide by that law that allows him to go free, you wouldn't have much of a movie.

For those not interested in taking Boll up on his challenge to get in the ring with him for a boxing match, you can meet the man himself as he, along with the cast, will take the stage for a Seed presentation at Vancouver's Timeless Destinations sci-fi convention being held July 31-August 6.

Also on the all thing?s Uwe Boll front, a new trailer has just popped up online for his next video game to film, the fantasy epic In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. It's Boll-A-Riffic!

    • Awsome song!

Marine sings a bad ass song.

The conduct of a soldier in uniform is governed by military codes?..I hope they let the soldier go because the song is really not that bad?It is less violent than some of rap songs that rap about killing one?s own mother?

Liberals tolerate gang rap on killing and raping. Do you see the fallacy here?

CAIR seemed awefully quiet on Al Jazerra?s boardcast on beheading and propaganda, and the boasting and gloating of Al Zarqawi after he butchered our people. I would like to see some evidene of CAIR?s action ( or more proper, inaction) against the terrorists.

CAIR is turning the citizens of USA against them. This is not good PR, CAIR. CAIR IS NOT FAIR AND BALANCED?but..have they ever?

      "AND...The infamous Crater Goof!!

-When Norris and Mac climb down into the crater and are walking towards the open hatch in the center, look on the far right hand side of the screen and you will see the head and arm of somebody come into shot and then disappear again.

Here's a pic of the scene taken by Talon from the DVD playing on his computer. This part of the screen can only been seen on the widescreen version. The dark mass to the right of the arrow is the person who goofs.

Special thanks to Talon for helping to compile a complete list of goofs for The Thing and submitting this pic of the Crater Goof. "

      New invention in RR!
First you had the chordless phone
Next they gave you the wireless mouse
Now they give you the rope less repeling kit

Max Brooks likes his zombies, and for good reason. His first book, The Zombie Survival Guide, sold like the proverbial hotcakes and made legions of undead fans smile from ear to ear with its practical, real-world advice on how to survive a zombie apocalypse.

His next, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, was the source of a massive bidding war between Paramount and Warner Bros. with Paramount winning out in the end. The film version of World War Z is now set for production through Brad Pitt's Plan B and distribution via the studio according to Variety. Needless to say, zombies have been good to Max so far.

The story is just what the title proclaims: the history of a war fought between normal humans and those who are given a virus that allows them to reanimate after death to keep on fighting. It sure sounds like it's going to be a damn big film, let's just hope that Paramount is up to doing it justice. World War Z is due out from Crown on September 12th; click here to pre-order it via Evilshop, and keep your eyes here for more on the film as we learn it!

^^^_______An even better site which gives you the option to skip through the movie with chapters.

      -------MAJOR MOTHA FUCKIN UPDATE--------------------

Uwe Boll Fights Critics -- Physically

On Cinematical alone, Dr. Uwe Boll has been said to be, "incapable of making a good movie," (by Martha), "mostly bad," (by Karina) and "that wacky German man who likes to call himself a director and has a penchant for creating awful video game to film adaptations," (by Mark). Scott says his movies, "cost nine bucks a ticket, but are actually only worth about 99 cents," and Robert has a lot of bad things to say in his Bloodrayne DVD release post, but I bet you none of the writers on this site have been mean enough to enrage the directing doctor enough to win this contest:

Boll is going to fly the 5 most outspoken critics of his work to Vancouver, put them up in a hotel and cast them as extras in his film Postal. The catch? They have to enter the ring and box with Boll in a 10-bout match, footage of which will appear on the internet and in the movie. The filmmaker shouldn't have trouble finding critics to enter, but anyone interested has to fulfill a requirement. He or she has to have written at least two extremely negative articles about him on the web or in print in 2005. He has already picked out a few people who have posted on the IMDb and has put their user-names in the press release.

"I am fed up," Boll says in the release, "I'm fed up with people slamming my films on the Internet without see them." Well, can we at least make fun of the typos in his press releases? Nah, that isn't as fun.

You can read the rest of the announcement at [sknr.net]
