I feel like crap today. Stomach cramps that flare up ever hour or so. A throbbing headache. And I'm completely exhausted.

Time to take some advil and have a nap. A late morning early lunch siesta? Something like that.

What the hell is going on with the weather? It gets warmer, rains and most of the snow is gone. Then it snows 3"-5" on Saturday. No big deal, it rained on Sunday and it pretty well all melted. Between yesterday and last night we've got a solid foot of snow outside. Someone want to mention to mother nature its April 7th?

I'm moving to BC from Ontario. For anyone who lives between Central Ontario and White Rock BC, is there anything I should try to see on my way west?

      Third boxcar, midnight train
      Destination...Bangor, Maine.
Old worn out suits and shoes,
I don't pay no union dues,
I smoke old stogies I have found
Short, but not too big around
I'm a man of means by no means
      King of the road.

I'm going on a little adventure. Across the country. And for the foreseeable future.

The current situation is this. My mother in law currently has a very large (4500sq ft) five bedroom house and 5 acres of property. She currently has a 7 year old and a 14 year old living at home. Her second oldest daughter left for British Columbia to go to school for the next eight months and will be looking for work there. The rest of my mother in laws family also live out there. Conversely, my father in laws family is in Ontario and wants nothing to do with my mother in law. The love just oozes.

Needless to say, the house is too big, the cost of the upkeep is too much and with her one daughter gone, she can't keep up with the maintenance either. She's selling and moving out west. So are we.

Our lease just expired so for the next six months we are going to go live in my mother in laws basement apartment. Which works out for both of us. Our landlord offered to drop our rent from $1150 inclusive to $975 + utilities. Seems like a good deal...but isn't. Not when the utilities have been $350-$450 since the heat was turned back on in September. My mother in law benefits by having me around to fix a lot of unfinished projects as well as keeping up with all the regular maintenance.

She is aiming to have the house sold and be moving for the end of the summer. Her and two kids will take a plane the week of and my wife and I will make sure the transport gets packed. Then we start the drive out west. We'll be stopping at my sisters at Manitoulin Island and then visiting some friends in Sudbury. After that we're going to book it to Winnipeg to visit my wife's great grandmother. I want to try and get through Manitoba/Saskatchewan/Alberta as quickly as we can then try to enjoy the drive in BC.

      Destination, White Rock...or perhaps Surrey.

      *edit*

Because it's only a three hour time difference, I can in fact keep my job. I'll be starting at 6am and finishing at 2pm.

I feel like death. What started out as allergies has moved into my chest and now my asthma is rearing its ugly head and making my life miserable. It's times like these I wish that I did in fact work in an office. Unless there is something preventing me from sitting up straight, I can still work. Whereas in an office, you hork up enough mucus and they send you home.

I have a whole bucket filled with kleenex and mucus.

At least I'm not all that busy today.

My dog and I are useless and clumsy.

First off, I'll start with my dogs shenanigans. We have a tile floor in the common area of our apartment that he doesn't particularly like or have much traction on. As such, he always skitches out of control trying to make it to the stairs. If he just walked normally, he would be fine...but no, he's got to be retarded. Anyways, he went flying around the corner, skitched out of control and crashed into the stairs. Then once I was in the apartment he was all weird and sucky. Well, turns out the little bugger destroyed one of his nails. The toe wasn't broken and the quick was still in tact but completely exposed and as such very painful. That was a $300 visit to the emergency vet. Its almost healed now but he had to wear a cone on his head for about three weeks.

I'm going to post some pictures of my dogs toe and what he looked like when we brought him home. He was doped up and didn't even recognize us. The usual words that get a big response from him (walk, park, car ride, cookie) didn't even get his attention. And man did he ever have the shits the next day. He couldn't even control it. I'm assuming the meds they gave him were the cause. He has never had an 'accident' in this apartment. He crapped on the floor three times that day...and it was runny...and nasty...and made me want to barf. The one time, he actually crapped right on my sock foot. So gross.

Why I shouldn't be allowed to work with wood. I was sanding a railing and managed to put a piece of oak the size of a round sliver through the tip of my middle finger on my right hand. I tried to pull it out but both ends broke. The walk in clinic around the corner it is then. They gave me two needles of freezing, which incidentally hurt 10x as much as the sliver, dug around for awhile then pulled it out. I got a tetanus shot as well because I hadn't had one since I was 15. The shot itself didn't hurt but I couldn't lift my arm above my shoulder the next day. The nurse wasn't kidding when she said I was going to experience some 'discomfort' the next day.

My finger appears to have healed, but if I press on one spot it feels like someone is sticking a needle into my finger. I also don't have all the feeling in the tip of my finger right now either. It's like I have a big callus there right now. I did not get the shits from medication. Although I did almost throw up when I smashed my finger in a drawer after getting a fork out for dinner.

I'm about to go outside and shovel what has fallen between yesterday at 3pm when I shoveled it and now. I think there is about 5". Nothing crazy. I'd probably ignore it until tomorrow and just borrow the neighbors snow blower but I have to go out at about 7pm and I don't want to make it more difficult than necesary to get in and out of the driveway. I should probably mention that our driveway is about 3' below the road and it can be difficult to get out if there is any amount of accumulation.

My new neighbor downstairs hasn't lifted a shovel in the nearly 3 weeks that they've been here. I've started waiting until they are home and shoveling the whole driveway except for around where they park making it difficult to get in and out.

Its not that I'm spiteful, but I would like at least a little help here and there.

If you go through Alberta, you should really stop at Torrington, it only has like 200 people living there, but it is fantastic! The reason for this is there Gopher Museum, they have stuffed gophers with clothes on and...I can't really explain it, it's just so hilarious!

completely buried. It was about the size of a round toothpick. Then both ends broke off.

Ouch! Shit that sounds like it hurts. Fortunately it was just a thin layer of skin...like getting a blister that it pulled up. I still have feeling in finger and it really doesn't hurt at all. Where the suture enters in the non-injured part hurts the most and it's negligible. It should heal up pretty quick.

Absentee ballots are for people that aren't able to make it to their precinct to vote in person. In my case I'm registered to vote back home in Iowa 5 hours away so I sent in an application to get my ballot and the county I live in send me a ballot that I can fill out and send back and be counted.

Ugh, that just sounds like a HUGE pain in the ass. Did you try getting some of your money back from them for the inconvenience?

I remember when I did a couple of moves back home I didn't change a thing. I was 20 minutes across town from my parents house so I just had all my mail go there and I'd pick it up every couple of days. That was easy.

Also, Duncan Keith is a pretty class guy. Both years he's done it he's come in for an on-air chat, pretty decent of him.

A good tripod is one of the best tools you can get for low light conditions. Also crank the ISO up and that'll take a faster picture...though they tend to be a bit grainier or have "noise" in them. I shot all those pictures at ISO 1600 and my camera isn't the greatest...the newer cameras are even better at less grain.

Also having your objects stand still is always a plus, and lenses that have image stabilization help a bit too.

Sam Neill most likely won't be back for the last movie. Laura Dern said she would play the part of Dr. Sattler though.
I hope this one will be good. I want them to go out with a bang. Something impressive that can live up to the first Jurassic Park movie.

The giant bungee swing at Wonderland. And it's still called Canada's Wonderland, it's just no longer 'Paramount Canada's Wonderland.'

Oh dude, this isn't me angry. I was just curious if you had any problems with me. Sometimes tards post in my profile, bitching about shit and it wastes my time to check them. So I just thought I'd take affirmitave action and ask for myself before anyone starts rambling off about how they hate me or I hurt their feelings or something.
Other than that, nope, don't have a problem with you either. Just tired is all. Just got done playing football.

    • Halogenix

Eh, it happens. I'm trying to stop the arguing thing because..
      1. The only thing ever proven on the internet is you might be able to insult someone better, and waste shit load of time.
      2. I don't like arguing with people anyways, it ruins my day
      3. I just want to be able to state my opinion sometimes, and that be the end of it

I just get tired of someone neg modding everything I say. Even if it is a simple question about something, or statement, I get neg modded. Someone is being a bitch and decides to be biased towards anything I say no matter what.
If I found a cure for cancer and posted that. Someone would call me a noob probably. Assholes that think they are better than everyone else, but in truth have nothing to do than bitch at other people because they themselves don't have a life.

Got that out of my system. So, tell me, do you have any problem with me that needs dealt with or something?
