      THE BOURNE LEGACY LIVES!!!!

      It's happening folks . . . hopefully.

      From Comingsoon.net

      www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=42307

Universal is planning the fourth Bourne Ultimatum film (The Bourne Legacy).

"Variety has a fairly extensive article about the future of Universal Studios following the end of the writers strike, as they plan to increase production including a number of high-profile projects and franchises they hope to start and relaunch in the next year, including the first news that Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon have agreed to do a fourth movie for the studio.

You can read the entire article here, but some of the key points of interest include the Bourne 4 news:

More recently, Shmuger and Linde landed Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon for a fourth "Bourne" movie, even though the director and star seemed ready to wrap it up after three pics."

Very surprising and possibly amazing news.

I did a search and I saw no thread whatsoever for this.

It's official. Studio Madhouse (Trigun) is producing it. Great news. I'm a big fan of the games.

      dmc-tv.com/

There is a short teaser trailer in the link. All it shows is some designs of Dante. It looks like Dante from the first game. Can't tell if the sword is Alastor or Rebellion.

Hopefully Dante will be do some of the insane combos and awesome moves from the game like surf's up, that's a personal favorite. Also the combo where he sticks his sword in the ground and just swings around it. Also the juggle. Love the juggle.

I wonder what the story of this will be. If they are adapting the games or supplementing them.

Also, FUCKING AGNI AND RUDRA! There's your comic relief right there. DMC 3 didn't exploit these guys nearly enough, they were quite a pair. Got a keep Dante's sarcastic and one-liner nature as well.

      Ideal voice actors?

First of Four Evangelion Movies due out Summer 2007.

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the October issue of Newtype (Japan) (On sale September 10), four new Evangelion movies are in the works. The four movies will include a prequel, a mid-series movie, a sequel and a "final" movie. The prequel movie is due out early summer 2007.

While the new story will be set during the same time frame as the original TV series, Newtype states that it will be an entirely new project, not be a remake or improvement of any sort. Newtype also mentions that viewers will not need to have already seen previous Evangelion material in order to understand and enjoy the new movies.

Hideaki Anno will write the scenario for the first movie and will be the general director and manager for the entire project. Kazuya Tsurumaki will direct the movies while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will provide character designs and Ikuto Yamashita will provide mechanical designs. Shinji Higuchi will provide storyboards for the first movie.

Khara, a new studio that shares office space with Gainax, was recently set up and is seeking production staff to work on Anno's new project.

      The picture image from Newtype:

      1157556958771yj4.jpg

      Translation:

"It will be a work that can be enjoyed even if you have not seen the TV series. I want old hard-core fans and even fans who just know Eva from pachinko to view it as a single (i.e. stand-alone) movie. We welcome first-time viewers, so the contents will be simpler, but we don’t intend to make something on a level that can be understood just by spacing out and watching it.
"When you say 'Eva' there are probably people who are reminded of a worldview steeped in mystery, but this time it looks like those types of elements will be kept to a minimum.
"This is because techniques such as intentionally scattering difficult to understand phrases to create uncertainty are 12 years old. The essence of this project is to foil all expectations that everyone has towards Eva."

The interview page also includes the eyecatch text:

"An enormous amount of new settings have been added. And new characters...?"

    • What manga needs to be anime?

OK so what exceptional manga or other Japanese property (perhaps a video game or something) needs to be adapted into anime? And by anime it could be anything. A series, OVA, or movie.

      My picks:

Sword Of The Dark Ones: Three manga volumes of complete and utter badass action. Leroy Schwartz is a wandering mercenary that hunts powerful beasts and demons called Dark Ones. Leroy's weapon is a sword . . . that talks, and is named Ragnarok. Leroy has a dark secret of his own and might be the very thing he has sworn to hunt and wipe off the face of the earth. Style of this story is medieval, fantasy, action and adventure. Leroy is a very likable character. He's pretty gruff but deep down he's really a softy, and he loves women more than anything else.

Blade The Immortal: Manji is a masterless samurai that's been given the gift that many desire, eternal life. His body is infected by holy worms called the kessen-chu. The worms can heal any wound Manji obtains, fatal or no. But due to the life he has lived, and the lives he has taken, death is what Manji desires more than anything else. So he makes a pact with the priestess that gave him the worms, he has to kill a 1,000 bad guys in order to atone for his sins and be allowed to die. This manga is just freaking obscene. Messed up, gory, and wrong. Manji is an awesome anti-hero, and he does all sorts of crazy stuff like cut off his limbs in order to gain an advantage in a fight. He's got an awesome fighting style which involves 12 separate bladed weapons he keeps.

    • Kage Kara Mamoru

      TheVileOne

So, for my very first thread, started to make a thread on one of favorite new anime series.

      So who watches this show?

The premise. Mamoru Kagemori is a high school student. But his family is secretly a ninja clan that is upholding a 400 year oath to protect their neighboring family, the Konyakus. The Kagemori family lives next door to the Konyaku's. Mamoru's mom protects the Konyaku mother, and his father the Konyaku father. Mamoru has to protect the Konyankus' daughter, Yuna. They've always been together and are best friends. The problem is that Yuna is an air-headed clutz that is always getting into trouble, tripping, or getting kidnapped by Yakuza who deal in trading fan-service statues.

The deal is, apparently like all good harem anime, pretty much any girl that comes into contact with Mamoru ends up falling in love with him. That includes the hot samurai girl, Tsubaki (samurai falling for a ninja!) whose only weakness for her family sword is that it can't cut through a special tofu called nata de coco. Yamame who is Mamoru's lively and distant relative and also part of his ninja clan. Hotaru, who is a ninja from a rival clan. And Airi, who is Yuna's rich best friend.

Only Yuna and Airi don't know that Mamoru is a ninja so he has to keep it a secret from them.

The series is mostly comedy, and it's a fun and hilarious show, some good riffs on Japanese culture and anime in general. The best character has to be Mamoru's pet dog, Burumaru, who is also trained in the ninja arts.

Best way to describe the series is that it's Naruto meets Love Hina or Ai Yori Aoshi. But well its mostly light-hearted with a little bit of drama from time to time.

My favorite girl in the harem is Tsubaki.

Very cool. Very pro, too. You gave a very neat, long interview.

Care to do me a favor? I'm always, always looking for feedback... while it's nice to have people read my journal "reviews" I actually do enjoy critiques of my critiques.

Here's a few journals which I wouldn't mind you checking out if you have time... My movie list

My latest one, for Casino Royale
A review for Catch A Fire
      Another, for The Departed
Let's finish off with one for Fearless

(I'm pretty serious about my movie watching)

Much appreciated if you do read them.

You are the one that said what you work in is CRAPPY INDY FEDS IN AUSTRALIA.

I already gave you a match to Joe in, so you can either take my advice and go watch it, or continue to argue.

    • TheVileOne

I said I GUESS. Don't take it so seriously. But when you say you work crappy indy wrestling feds in Australia, yeah I'm going to assume you are a pro wrestler that doesn't like Joe because you are jealous of a guy who was brought up in indy wrestling and has now made a huge name for himself. I was wrong, so sorry that's that.

But you know what, I think it takes a lot of nerve to call Joe a fat waste of crap and say a lot of other denigrating things, and think you can just brush him aside because you downloaded a few matches.

Spider-man started principal production in January of this year, for a May 2007 release date. They had already signed the director and started working on the story in mid-2004.

Halo has no director and cast yet, that's a fact. And unless the movie gets rushed like X-men 3, it's not going to meet a 2007 release date.

    • CELTICPRED

      oh, by the way,

its good to have a fellow wrestling fan on the site, and finally a new intelligent contributor to the halo movie thread other than me and ARTAYLOR

      welcome

    • CELTICPRED

oh hey dude, i seen you replied to my movie projection, if i said they already had cast, i didn't mean to, unless you inferred it, but i never said they had any cast, i just said that you can finish all your scenes with live action in 8 months, no prob

we still have 1 and a half years to wait before halo could come out, so i don't think there will be a problem with it coming out as of late 2007,

as an example, look at spider man, its still 9 months away, and they have yet to begin full scale shooting, they are primarily shooting smaller scenes for the clips that must be cgi enhanced, but now they are finally putting tobey and kirsten into shots, so I could compare this to halo,

oh, and when i logged on, there was 111 new replies, what happened?
