    • A Minecraft Let's Play I wish to see

      TnDi

I really enjoy Minecraft Let's Plays that is team-based and with lots of fighting. One of my ideas for a Minecraft Let's Play that is difficult to do would be similar to Hunger Games/The Walls. (This works so much better now that there are so many groups in Rooster Teeth).

The idea would be simple. Now that the map is so big, there can be these various teams competing against each other.

The teams include AH, Funhaus, Kinda Funny, Screw Attack, and RT. (And B-team: Lindsay, Matt, Kerry, Risinger, Mica, and Joel(?))

The teams would start at different locations of the map. At their starting spot will be a hut with 6 beds in a mud hut. They will not have anything on them (not even a map). Each team has 20-30 minutes to gather, build, and reinforce their hut. Then the teams will start to search for each other. (Of course, teams can make maps if they wish).

In their search is a tower of PIMPS, (if B-team is not participating then each team has a piece of the tower), and their goal is to gather all the pieces and assemble the wondrous tower in their base. The team will be eliminated if their base is completely destroyed. I.e. burned down if it is made out of wood.

The winning team now possesses the Tower of Pimps in real-life which would hopefully inspire more competitions between these groups.

    • Can racism ever be "resolved"?

      TnDi

As a teacher, I am currently dealing with some materials about racism. These are supposed to show that racism is wrong or that racism should be looked down upon. But personally I feel that these materials are not effective.

In school, as many have felt or are going through knows the materials in class are somewhat boring. (Even if you are watching Captain America, knowing there is an assignment attached makes the film worse) These issues may be seen by some of the students, but it has too little of an effect compared to other methods.

I think the first step would be to help educate the older generations. Most students grow up with racial stigmas due to parental influences. This does not mean that all parents are racist or most parents are this way. It just tend to be harder for younger generation to learn new things when the older generation is telling them the exact opposites. When students learn about new materials, they tend to discuss the material, one way or another, with their parents. If their parents disagree, they will try to correct the students. Thus, having two different point of view, causes confusion in the students' learning.

In "Prom Night in Mississippi", as we have just watched it in class, some of the students interviewed are afraid to intermingle due to parental objections. Some students are threatened even by their own parents for being friends with students of the other race. It is also evident that many parents grew up being told this is the correct way to do things so they pass this onto their children.

Another important lesson learned is that racism is not a one-way street. It is not just White Supremacy against the colored. Due to the discrimination or unequal judgment, some people are creating hatred for white people, black people, Asians, Latinos, etc. For racism to end, it is not enough to just point fingers at the white men and say they are wrong. It is needed for people to look at the situation and try to avoid looking at the color of their skins.

In many reports or media, the achievements of individuals are often proceeded by the person's race. This, I feel, is unnecessary as the color of one's skin should not be used to determine how much success a person achieved. Sometimes, a mass shooting is a mass shooting and that person is, without a lack of a better phrase, going to hell. The only reason to link to the person's race is if this is linked to a larger crime. (For example, ISIS, Nazi attacks, genocides.)

For the world to live without racism, we still have a loooong way to go.

    • What If... Boggarts are real?

      TnDi

In Harry Potter, there is a creature called the Boggart. For the Muggles that are not familiar with this creature, it is one that instantly transforms into your worst fear, but it has less power than the being it transformed into. However, what if these creatures do exist but magic does not? Can we survive such a creature?

These Boggarts are used in Defense Against the Dark Arts by Lupin in Harry Potter. Due to their weaker magic than the real beings, it was used for practicing charms. Now imagine that these creature roam our world except there are no Witches or Wizards. What do we do to defend ourselves?

With the multiplicity of Horror Movies and Urban Legends, a boggart could take the form of an actual boogeyman, or Candyman (one of my favorite classics). Imagine you are being chased by Freddy Kruger in your dreams, or Jason in real life. Imagine that ghouls and ghosts and demons actually exist and their sole purpose is to haunt and scare you. Possibly kill you.

Good thing there is no such creature like Boggart right? Except... Reality is sometimes darker than fiction.

"The Town that Dreaded Sundown" is a horror classic inspired by a string of murders, possibly by one person. Killer Clowns exists due to various people using these makeups to hide themselves. Poison Candy could be a real thing, especially during Halloween when children are EXPECTED to take candy from strangers.

As a society, we are open to numerous horrors everyday. Although some major ones are televised, such as ISIS attacks, mass shootings, bombings, there are many more that could be hidden away.

In a society where technology is so easily accessible, it is not hard to imagine someone breaking into a stranger's home, using a lock pick kit, tase someone to paralyze the residents, then do whatever they wish with the home or with them.

People are able to live in others's home for weeks or months without them knowing. Even if you do know a person is living there because you rent out your room, you don't know the person or what he/she could do with that room.

Boggarts exist in our society. There are humans that behave "normally" when in crowds but could turn into your worst nightmares when you are alone with it. Except, these boggarts may possess more power than those in you fear because they are real and they can get you. Who know. Maybe the person you are sitting next to right now is a boggart ready for a terrible act, or maybe you are the boggart hoping that others don't find out.

    • What if... There are other types of Kryptonites

      TnDi

So in Smallville, and I'm not quite sure where else this was mentioned, there are Kryptonites that have colours other than green. Just as a brief note about the different Kryptonites, there are Green, Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, Black, Gemstone, and Clear. The first four are natural where as the last four are synthetic.

Green Kryptonite: The one that we all known. It is like poison for Kryptonians. It weakens any Kryptonians near the stone and will slowly cause the Kryptonian to die. It basically makes them human if the stone is small enough and does not impact many of their abilities (Shown in the animated movie Justice League: Doom). It also has side effects on humans as well.

Red Kryptonite: The "evil" Kryptonite. It brings out the Kryptonians immoral personalities and causes them to think only of themselves.

Blue Kryptonite: It strips the Kryptonians of their powers but does not poison them. Its effect only works in close proximity of the Kryptonian.

Gold Kryptonite: It is like the blue Kryptonians but permanent.

Silver Kryptonite: It is the Kryptonite created by Brainiac. It induces paranoia in Kryptonians. It will make Kryptonians' fear seem real and hallucinate.

Black Kryptonite: Created through heating green Kryptonites. It can separate or combine the moral and immoral halves of a Kryptonian. (Probably wouldn't combine two immoral halves of two different Kryptonians.)

Gemstone Kryptonite: Mined from quarries from Smallville. It can temporary grant some of the superpowers of a Kryptonian.

Clear Kryptonite: Neutralized green Kryptonites. Basically has no effect on Kryptonians whatsoever but it still came from Krypton.

Now that the "refresher course" is over, now comes my hypothesis. What if there are some other types of Kryptonites that are not yet discovered, or revealed.

For example, what if the Kryptonians also have a Viagra like stone? Like a White Kryptonite. It makes the Kryptonians near the stone sexually active and driven by sexual desires. It would be a useful Kryptonite for Lois to possess if she ever feel neglected.

What if there are some "hippie" Kryptonians as well? Like a Pink Kryptonite. It makes the Kryptonians near the stone lose their will to fight. Imagine Lex Luthor using this Kryptonite when he fights Superman. Superman would be more like Ghandi than the super soldier.

How about a Kryptonite that can hypnotize a Kryptonian? Like a Spiral Kryptonite. I know that Lex tried, through different ways, to control Superman, but it would be easier for him just to possess such a stone instead of all that trouble.

Lastly, what if there is a Kryptonite that reverses their powers? Like a reflective Kryptonite. It might not affect Superman's heat vision and ice breath since he can just switch the two, but it would be a great hindrance if his super speed became slow-mo speed. Faster than a speeding bullet? More like slow as molasses.

Anyways, this is just some of whimsical thinking about the Superman's world. If you have any comments, suggestions, or just like this note, please let me know.

    • What if...The Avengers aren't as good-looking

      TnDi

As I was watching Ant-Man, I thought to myself, all the superheroes are good-looking, by today's standards. Then I thought, what if some of the superheroes are not as good-looking or at least not in our standards? Would these films still be as popular? So I will begin this by examining the Avengers first.

HULK: Since the Hulk was created due to a radiation exposure, it doesn't mean that the Hulk would just be a beefed up version of Banner. What if when Banner hulks out, he becomes a giant Quasimodo? That could be a good reason why Banner doesn't want to hulk out. Not just so he doesn't rampage, but because he will become ugly.

IRON MAN: The Iron Man we know is a playboy philanthropist. The rich Tony Stark making amazing suits and getting girls with his good-looks. What if he is actually the nerdy cousin of Stephen Hawking? He is a playboy but he has to try really hard to get girls. Also, because he admires his cousin, Stephen Hawking, he sounds like him when he is in the suit. That would make him a bit less intimidating but less likely to reveal his secret identity(?)

BLACK WIDOW: The prowess of Black Widow comes mainly from her knowledge of martial arts and weapons. So what if she doesn't look like a hot woman, as Scarlett Johansson tries to portrait, but more of an Ugly Betty character? She would be a bit overweight, which adds more impact when she jumps on her enemy, and a bit more average, which makes her less memorable.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: He is the by-product of a WWII experiment on soldiers. So what if after he gets injected with the drug, he doesn't come over as a sculpted man but more of a man who had too much steroids? With his big muscles everywhere, he would run faster, be stronger, and jump higher. His excessively big muscles could also slow down the bullets enough that it would be hard to penetrate into his heart.

THOR: He is the son of Odin, but what if he was not as old as we know him? What if he is a teenager that is going through puberty? His voice would crack, his face covered with acne, and he would be constantly distracted with the ladies.

HAWKEYE: Lastly, there's the sharpshooter. He is apparently the least desirable superhero of the team. As he doesn't have a movie and no one gives a sh*t. So what if his nickname doesn't come from his archery skills but physical appearance? Imagine Hawkeye has a BIG eye that bulges from his head. He could have an amazing eyesight due to the big eye and would always use that eye to focus his shots.

So what do you think of these Avengers? Would you pay to watch them on the big screen?

*P.S. If someone has good P.S. skills, I would love to see your renditions of this team.

    • New Site

Thank you for making this site so cool. I haven't been going through the different new functions yet but it has been great so far.

I love the new layout and the new modifier button for posts. It makes the "like" button become something that could be more personal.

The only thing I am having difficulty with this site is the speed. I guess the new content is taking up a lot of bandwidth because I am experiencing some disconnections and some activities are slower than before. Other than that, everything else is great.

Looking forward to any other new modification and becoming more familiar with the new site.

    • RT 12 YEARS!

      TnDi

So glad to see that Rooster Teeth has been around for 12 years and it's still going strong. I have been a fan for less than a year but I really love the different series that are being produced.

Despite the advice near the end of the series, I still want to try and go on the same journey like A Simple Walk into Mordor. It seems like a really cool journey and it would be great to enjoy the scenery as well.

What really made me become a RT fan was through the AH guys. Can't believe that Let's Play Minecraft has been around for 5 years and it is still sad to say goodbye to Let's Build. I am excited to see the continuation of Sunday Driving and hope to see another episode of Shenanigans.

From Rooster Teeth I loved the series of RvB and RWBY. They are both amazing series and I hope it will never end (As unrealistic as that may seem). When one of the major player, Monty Oum, passed away I, like many of the community and RT staff was depressed for a very long time. Once again, I hope Monty's family is doing well and no matter what, he will always be a pillar in RT's history.

To say why I'm a RT fan is still extremely hard despite all these amazing reasons and more. RTAA gives the fun stories a new and funnier twist. RT Podcast gives us a great way to see the inside of RT and a fun series called Gavin Or Google. I've recently started watching The Know videos and they are both informative and still contains that RT twist of fun and humor. AH's AHWU and Let's Fail gives a chance for talent community members to show their stuff and their fails. From HORSE, to Trials PIG, to HUNT, the series goes through some fun games with a fun concept of the childhood game of HORSE. VS has expanded from the original Achievement Hunters to include many of the behind the scenes crew. With Happy Hour, we see the fun lives of the Ramseys and Gavin (somewhat replacing the Real Life Achievement series).

There has to be some of the series that I've forgotten and many that I haven't seen yet, but the TLDR version is that RT makes great production and they make sure the videos' qualities are great instead of focusing on keeping to a schedule. Despite all their hard productions, they still contribute to the community with different expos and Extra Life!.

So why am I a RT fan? I just love the amazing staff of RT, the great videos they post, and the awesome things they do for the community.

In terms of the @RTContests, I actually hope I don't win the grand prize. Not because I don't want to meet the RT crew in person, I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO, but I'm sure my schedule would conflict with the expo or the cost of the trip would hinder me from making it. Therefore, I hope I win one of the $50 code to the RT Store.
