    • I'm Back I Guess... Maybe

      Tuba_Nerd

It feels like it has been years since I've been on this site, even if it has only been four months. I guess to fill you in on all that has happened this year as far as school is concerned:

      Band is done.
      Debate is done.
      School is done.
      I've graduated.
I was extremely close to Nationals in debate. (Original Oratory that was over Societal Benefits from Smiling)
Had a successful year in both band and debate.
Pissed off my debate coach a lot. (Always something fun to do)

That's basically my senior year in a nut shell. A lot more happened, but who cares? If you really do care, then ask me how I was screwed out of Nationals... I'll go on for awhile over that.

Now that I'm officially out of high school and on my own (kinda) I have made the decision to start drugs... I know, I know, its a bad thing to get into, but I just can't help it, its just so good. You may ask which drug, or where can I get some, or why would you and I would just answer with... It's D&D man, online, and because I have nothing else to do. That's right, I started playing Dungeons and Dragons. Despite it being extremely nerdy, its actually kinda fun when you have the right kind of people playing.

Oh and shame on all of you that would actually think that I'd do drugs. Assholes...

Recently I've found the importance of re-reading my work for grammatical errors, but tonight I think I'm going to say fuck it and just click submit. I'm way too tired, and its way too late.

      Thanks for the warm welcome,
      Tuba

P.S. I'm not going to be on a lot, but it will certainly be more than I have been. Alright, I'm going to bed now.

As most, if not all of you have guessed, the American people are led by a new man, a man clad in black. Neve fear though, for this man is not the devil, but rather our savior. If you couldn't tell, I'm extremely excited about our new President.
I'm aking this journal extremely short because its really hard to type on a blackberry keyboard for long. I just thought I'd drop in and say hey then drop back out again. By the way, I think my computer is actually going to be fixed in a few days
Well that's all that I want to type. Ill fill you all in on everything when my thumbs aren't cramping up.
Nice sorta-kinda getting to talk to everyone again.
Disclaimer: all mistakes blamed on tiny keypad.
      See ya soon (I hope)
      Nichols

P.S. If anyone wants to be social. Name the game on 360 and ill try my best to kick your ass, if not completely embarass myself.

    • I'm back! Kinda...

      Tuba_Nerd

I just thought I'd drop in after a month of being gone and say hi. I've been extremely busy, emotional, and tired since I last came on here. First off, as some of you know, marching band is finally over... I'm both happy and sad, seeing how I've been in band for the past 7 years and it's kinda weird to know that I'll never do it again.

Also the other reason why I haven't been on is because my computer is withering to nothingness. It caught a really bad virus and its kinda hard to get onto the internet now. So hopefully I now have the time to fix that, or I'll just waste it all on Fable 2.

Anyways, long journal cut short because I'm too lazy to type out what has happened in my life (not like its exciting) so that you guys can read it. I will also be on Xbox Live soon, so if anybody wants to say, start a party on Halo or CoD4 or Fable 2 or any game that I have, they are welcome to do so.

      See ya someday,
      Tuba

    • Laziness = Apathy?

      Tuba_Nerd

I just started my senior year yesterday and at about second hour, I had an epiphany. My epiphany was... I don't give a shit anymore. Senior-itis has finally kicked in and all in all, its kinda nice. Freeing actually. I'll give you an example of my laziness:

      Classes for 2008-2009
      1.) Band
      2.) Hydrology/Meteorology
      3.) English AP
      4.) Psychology
      5.) Academic/Lunch
      6.) Spanish II
      7.) Algebra II
      8.) Debate

So, effectively, out of the whole day, Hydro/Meteor was my hardest class. The rest are bullshit classes where I can easily get an A, besides maybe Algebra II and even then, I've taken it before, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Let's focus on my hardest class... I dropped it and decided to be a Teacher's Aide for Band 2nd hour. That's my laziness/apathy.

Anyways, I was bored and I'm currently waiting to go to band for a performance today, so I thought I'd write a quick journal about something since I haven't written one in so long.

I've experience of a brief time of nostalgia... I take that back, several brief moments of nostalgia... Actually, I'm going to take that back as well. The past two weeks have been pure nostalgia for me. I'm remembering times from as far back as 6th grade and times as close as my junior year. Becoming a senior has been both frightening and surreal for me so far and I haven't even started school yet. One of the activities that I've participated the most in and has also inspired my name on this site, is band. I should say, was band, that's more of a correct term at the moment. Before it was band, and then I became a Freshman, then it was a new experience, then it was me, out there every single day, working hard, to pump out this exciting new show, this exhilarating new ride, this adrenaline pumping adventure.

Then Sophomore year came along and I met new friends, new acquaintances, new people. All of them were great, none of them horrible, and everyone enriching in their own qualities. That's when I truly fell in love with marching band. Again I must correct myself, it wasn't really marching band that I fell in love with, it was the experience, the people.

Then Junior year came along and I worked hard because I had to make my section better, no, the best. Although my effort came to naught a few weeks into the school year due to unforeseen events. These trials came hard and fast, knocking me down and then when I was on the floor, they kicked me repeatedly until I had almost lost all fight, but in those last few moments, you realize what you need to fight for, what you have to fight for and that has placed me into this new body, this new personality, this more-or-less mature adult that can do anything he puts his mind to and persevere through every obstacle that comes his way. That year taught me most about myself.

Now I come to my senior year, the last year of my high school career, the beginning of the end. I am now one week into band camp and am constantly having epiphanies, revelations if you will, that I have to make this time the most that I possibly can. I am here, surrounded by the best the world can offer and am quite content. Yes, I could be going to school at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma right now and be a part of the best marching band in the nation and yes, I could be at Neosho, one of the highest ranking schools in debate. But honestly, I wouldn't trade that for anything right now. Sure, after this year, I will move on, trying to make something of my life, trying to become a psychologist, and hopefully succeeding. Sure, I will forget some if not all of these people, and some visa versa, but this does not matter, because in the end, these will always be the people that have pushed me when I needed to be pushed, have stood beside me when I needed help, have given when I needed. My peers are the most special people that this world can offer you and the best thing about it, is that these "peers" are all around me, on the internet, off the internet, in band, out of band, in debate, out of debate, in school, out of school, etc. Never give up these relationships.

Move on, forgive and forget, and remember the good times. That's what life is about, because you have only so long to live it, you have to really, really live it.

I am now going to go on and continue on with band camp, being surrounded by my peers, and in the end I'll have everything and nothing to show for it. Now that's a good way to end a Senior year.

Thought I'd just give my two cents on my emotional and nostalgic views on the last of the first. If you read all of it, then you get a cookie of wisdom or insanity.

    • Pursuit of Busyness

      Tuba_Nerd

The title doesn't really mean anything, I'm just bored.

Last Thursday was my birthday, obviously, and guess what I did! Worked for 8 hours, then came home... Then got mauled by 20 people. Apparently they thought they'd be funny and ignore me all day, and then all of a sudden bum rush me. By they, I mean my friends. If you haven't guessed it by now, then you seriously have problems, but I came home to a surprise party. Mainly why I wouldn't talk to anybody and kept closing out of your conversations Thursday night. It was a lot of fun. I had an air soft battle with one of my friends. We didn't have any protective gear nor did we have any goggles. Probably the stupidest thing I've done in my adult life so far, which of course isn't saying much, because I've only been one for about a week now. Also, its fun to try and curve air soft bullets. It actually kinda works, but that could also have been the wind. Who knows.

Now to move on before I bore you with details. Friday I had off, and I slept all day.

Saturday, I worked until 4 and then went over to my dad's house to say hi to my aunt and uncle that had just arrived from Texas. I ended up leaving about 6 or 7 hours later. That's how long I stayed in one place, but it was nice to be able to talk to them, since I haven't seen them in a year or two.

Sunday, I worked until 10pm and then went home. Exciting!

Monday, or today for those of you keeping up, I went to a section leader camp for band and learned about various leadership techniques. Most of them I already knew from the past two years, but this year I'll actually listen, so hopefully I'll be a better leader, and hopefully my section will do a lot better. I'm kinda actually excited about band camp this year. Probably because I'm a senior. But anyways, at about 9am, I went to the park and took pictures with my family, which was why they were in town. That took forever, and when it was done, I went back to section leader camp. After that got down, I went back to my dad's house and talked to my uncle. Keep in mind that he is a loud-mouth Texan. It was a good time.

And that is my "weekend" in a detailed nutshell.

Oddly enough, I didn't call anybody a bitch and/or bastard. Nor did I make one single negative comment... Well fuck.

Welcome to yet another journal that you probably won't read all the way through and will just skim and make a smiley face.

Well, this will probably be my last journal as a minor and the next journal that I will make... I'll be an adult and am therefore able to do the following:

      Bag alcohol
      Put alcohol inside the cart
Touch alcohol as long as its inside the store
Not be immediately intoxicated when I touch anything that has alcohol in it
Will be able to waste my money on Lotto tickets
Will be able to get addicted to cigars (I'm too classy for cigarettes)
Will finally be able to piss on something in the streets and be taken to jail, not juvie
Will be held accountable for anything that I do that is stupid
Will be able to go to the doctors by myself
Will be able to sign off on any surgery I want
Will finally be able to have that special surgery (*wink*)
Will have a sexual harassment suit slapped on me for making cat calls (as opposed to being thrown in a river wrapped in barbed wire(Tell me what this is from))
Will be able to make extremely long journals with no real point (Yes, that is against the law when you're under 18, so suck it)

So now that you have a basic grasp of what I'll be able to do in 6 days, let me move on with my journal...

So next week on Tuesday, Woods (the place I work), is going to have a bagging contest (Preliminary Round), so that we Carryouts may show off our other-worldly skills at bagging and receive the award of getting to go onto the Bolivar Store next Thursday and compete in the Semi-Finals Round in which we face off against baggers from Woods stores all over Missouri. Fourteen go, two come out... alive. The two winners from that round then get to go all the way to Las Vegas and compete in the final round of bagging. The winner there gets $1,000 and a free vacation. (The vacation is being able to go to Las Vegas and compete in the bagging contest.) So, needless to say, I entered the competition, and will compete Tuesday for the right to go to Bolivar Thursday. And because I'm really the only carryout competing, I pretty much have a straight away to Bolivar.

And yes, we really are having a bagging contest.

      No seriously, its happening.

      Don't doubt it.

Anyways, onto the next topic of discussion:

I finally "beat" Oblivion. The term "beat" is a very loose term in this case. I beat all of the quest lines, including Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and the Daedric Shrines, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Main Quest Line, Mages Guilds, Fighters Guilds, and then beat all of the random quests that I could. (I am not going to collect 100 rare plants, for Christs sake! Nobody is going to do that, and if you do, then you don't have a life.(I don't have a life, but I'm not going to do it) So that's a huge accomplishment, basically because it took me a total of 127 fucking hours. I'm only a level 24 too.

Since Oblivion left a void in my life, I had to buy Battlefield: Bad Company. It is short, but its still a good and humorous game. It also has a pretty kick ass multiplayer. Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 can suck it, Battlefield continues to prove that it has the best online play and if you ever played Battlefield 2, then you would concur.

Also, search Unforgotten Realms, and then watch those episodes, there's only 5, but they are fucking hilarious, and anybody that has ever played an RPG (or god forbid, D&D) will find them funny.

Okay, well, I think its about damn time I wrap up this journal, and for those of you that have read all the way through this, I thank you. And if you didn't... well... fuck you. Also, as proof that you read through it, then I ask you to at least try to answer my question. It's hard if you don't know your history... actually, you should know it. It happened in the past 50-or-so years and sparked the Civil Rights Movement.

      Is plastic alright?
If not, then fuck you, I'm bagging it in plastic anyway dickweed.
