− Doctor Mobius: There is an expression in the Wasteland: "Old World Blues."
− Doctor Klein: It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is.
− Doctor Dala: They stare into the what-was, eyes like pilot lights, guttering and spent, as the realities of their world continue on around them.
− Doctor O: Science is a long, steady progression into the future. What may seem a sudden event often isn't felt for years, even centuries, to come

After almost eight years, I am chosen to be the Featured User! How exciting. Doesn't this mean that I should state some life lessons I have learned through the years of being an RT user? Bah; I'm twenty-two. Just because I had to drop out of my senior year of high school just to learn how to walk again doesn't mean I have been through tough situations. Although I could use some medicine for my lower back....

Ah, I remember when I was first introduced to this website.
      *reminiscence*
Of course, it was the third season of Red vs Blue. And the RvB clans were still thriving.

That being said, I met my best friend on this website (Tim), along with a lot of interesting friends (Mama, Albino, Maru, Laney, Jessica, pretty much everyone participating in the Words group [if I didn't list you, it's because I haven't slept enough to have long, coherent thoughts).

Let's see to it that the next eight years is just as fruitful and fun!

    • Summer

So, I finished off the semester with A's and B's. I think I may be getting the hang of essentially triple majoring in biology, chemistry, and Great Books (that's what I get for attempting a Biochemistry and Molecular biology degree with an unconventional alternative to taking psychology and history. This will be my first summer in three years where I will not be taking summer courses to keep up with my necessary credit hours to graduate in 4 years. Bah, it's fine. I know I'll be getting my master's degree before I decide anything else. What's another year added in going to matter?

In related news, it's time to shadow some physicians! It's better to know whether you like the job you are willing to devote time and money into. Who better to shadow than the most widely regarded neurologist practice in the southeast? I'll give it a shot. In the spring, I will be working in a lab for probably one and a half years studying the relations different proteins have on varying metabolic systems. Both paths intrigue me; it's just a matter of choosing which one.

What else will happen this summer...

Ah, my sister will be coming back to town. She's been living in North Carolina for the past year and a half with her boyfriend... you know... the one that doesn't have a real job... the one that said that he was going to go back to college only to not sign up for courses... the one who dropped out of college twice after one semester... Oh yes, that one. Do I want my sister free from his clutches? Yes. Will she shut herself off from me if I say something? Yes. How fun!

      Anything else?

Meh. I'll probably go through my room and clean it up, read those comic books that I purchased in February that I didn't have time to read in-between Kant and Madame Bovary, and panic about tuition for the fall. My sleep schedule, you ask? Oh, it's reminiscent of high school. Without my 9 AM classes, I can sleep till 11 AM and go to bed at 2 AM... Don't worry, I'm sure it's completely healthy. Isn't that the purpose of coffee: to help regulate one's sleep patterns?

Let's end with a video, shall we?

"Wouldn't 200 Proof Coffee really just be sludge?" you ask. Incorrect! What you're describing is better known as "200 Proof Coffee on the rocks". The rocks being the practically whole beans you chew along with the coffee, of course. 200 Proof Coffee: scouring . . . for your insides!

      My dear,

Lend your ears to music, open your eyes to painting, and… stop thinking! Just ask yourself whether the work has enabled you to walk about into a hitherto unknown world.

If the answer is yes, what more do you want?

      Truly yours,
      Wassily Kandinsky

My dystonia is getting worse. We actually found a medicine that worked, and completely freed me of my symptoms. However, I found out a week in that I am allergic to some component to it, so as soon as I am home during fall break, I will be trying a medication similar to it to see if the titanium dioxide is the allergen. Because of all of this, I had to drop calculus based physics just so that I would be able to decrease some stress so that I can walk properly and increase the medication I was trying to ween off of that makes me tired all the time. So, now I have a tired disposition and the ability to not properly function mechanically when I being to move any part of my left side. Fun.

It could be worse. Luckily my dad received part of his normal salary back after two years of half-salary 60-hour workweeks, so I'm feeling less stressed financially. And now that I have visited with my sister (last month), I know that she is in a good spot where she will actually eat instead of starving herself from paying for her boyfriends part of the rent. Now all that needs to be done is for the two of them to have a "falling out" so that he can stop manipulating her, and I will be happier about her situation.

      It's nap time.

Who needs it. It's not like the hallucinations where the walls seem to be dripping to the ground aren't entertaining... right?
