You can send it, but I won't read it until tomorrow. I've become quite intoxicated and am bothering folks on Skype at the moment (because the need to be bothered).

      There is an interest!

No promises on much beyond reading it and giving you a bit of feedback.

No worries, it's hard enough keeping my own schedule straight, I certainly don't expect anyone else to!

In the last week I've spent almost 40 hours sewing.. SEWING! And that's on top of my full-time job! I should hopefully maybe possibly finish my current project tomorrow night or the night after, and then I can finally breathe again for a little bit, then birthday party thing this weekend (which means cleaning like mad Friday!) and then back to the sewing again...

It isn't. I'm neck-deep in sewing right now. Writing is temporarily on hold...

I am pretty good! Getting over a cold at the moment, but it's on its way out. Also typing up answers on a take-home midterm (for a different class), and that's going well. I have an idea for another drawing floating around in my head, so I'm looking forward to having the time to work on that tomorrow, probably. Psych research is starting up again, classes are going smoothly, I just bought some super-cheap awesome 3D modeling software...things are good ^^

      How are you?

What you found was the ALCHEMICAL definition of what it looks like (but not what it means). The symbol pre-dates alchemy by several thousand years, back to ancient Eqypt.

It also has many spellings :)

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't mean for it to run on so long, but I wrote it using Word while I was offline and it just kept getting bigger and bigger. I knew where I wanted it to end, but there was so much to do in between and I wanted to make sure I did that justice too. Now that the story is moving in the direction I want, I'm sure I'll be able to keep it to a more moderate level.

I agree with the zombie thing. I wanted to do something more original, but I had the zombie idea stuck in my head and writing a story about an outbreak of some disease that didn't make zombies didn't sound like much fun. If Daft takes my advice however, we should have a more entertaining story on our hands than a generic zombie survival one.

I'm at work, so I really can't promise that I'll have half an hour together to focus on anything.

And tonight and Saturday I'm scrambling to try to get the Revelation art contest submission done...

I feel really bad about this but I think in all fairness I should drop out of the 'add a scene'. I keep trying to find time to sit down and write something and I can't even write my *own* stories. Time seems to be scarce anymore...

I'm really sorry about this, hopefully I'll be able to participate more in future... (((hugs)))

I know when I get lost, usually returning to some point of inspiration usually does help very much. Either some "ritual" (not like religious, just doing the same things I had done then,) or a certain music or activity.. yeah, very much a way to get back into a particular kind of inspiration. smiley1.gif

I ended up taking the day off of work. My throat is rough and my voice even rougher. I don't feel too bad, but then I don't feel really good either.

I'm doing better tonight, we'll have to see what the morning brings.

Last night's choice was Gin. However, I developed sinus/upper respiratory infection symptoms (coughing up mucus with a bit of blood in it) and quickly switched to gargling warm salt water after taking some NyQuil.

I've taken the day off and will be doing the clear liquids and saltwater gargles all day.

Yeah... I don't understand how some people can change *so much* of their stories... I mean... My friend wrote a book, I read one of the revisions, but learned later one of the central characters wasn't even in the first draft! I don't get how she could just weave in another character and have it come out so seamless in the end!

Editing is definitely my very weak point...

For the "Add a Scene" game, what level of writing do you want? Do you want something that I write and post quickly, or do you want me to spend some time on it, develop it, edit it, all the good stuff?

fyi: I believe it is only the first post that can be edited indefinitely... might want to move the name list there?

Also, may I suggest putting a time frame on how long someone has to post their 'section' before it defaults to the next person on the list? That would keep the story from bogging down if someone is absent for an extended period. Perhaps 3 days to post your part or else the next in line gets it? (or did you have a different time frame in mind and I missed it somewhere?)

I don't know about committing to any projects at this time. If it is a one time thing, sure, I'll jump in. if you need a filler from time to time, hit me up.

I just finished (hopefully) a 2 year, 9 and a half month project that has really drained me (just waiting to see things clear is all that is left).

      Check back with me tomorrow.

You don't know me and I don't know you. That being said, I'd like an invite to your group "Write On" the group for friends of yours suffering from writer's block. I am acquainted with several members of your group (most prominently MissZarah) and am suffering from an epic case of writer's block on one of my projects. I think it would be a good way to expand my social sphere as well as your own.

Looking forward to your affirmative response,

I updated my avatar a couple of days ago giving it a BuckHat and I noticed then that my avatar had a different pose.

I simply thought it was due to the change I made, but now I don't know. I'll have to check around!

Sorry for being so slow on the writing--I have ended up being very busy with college stuff. I think I am a bit too ambitious with my course loads >_> But I assure you that I have not forgotten about it! Just need some time to get things in order here.

I saw your comment to Buck about not sleeping well and may have a suggestion for you. I use MidNite when I can't get to sleep/have trouble sleeping well. Their website's a little hokey, but this stuff works fantastically. It's all herbal and natural (the active ingredient is melatonin, which your body produces when you sleep). And the best part about it is that it doesn't leave you feeling groggy when you wake up in the morning. Hope this helped!

    • buckeyedon Crackpottist

It is a great sleep aid (but it isn't for everyone).

Just make sure you don't have to do anything much 8 hours after you take it. I always wake up with a bit of a fuzzy feeling and call it my NyQuil Glow.

I don't use it much, but it sure does the job when I need it.

    • buckeyedon Crackpottist

Whenever I get like that, I start hitting the NyQuil.

Maybe that's why I've been able to sleep so much lately!

    • buckeyedon Crackpottist

I've been overly tired of late myself. I think I'm coming down with a touch of something. Nothing too serious I hope. It's rare that I get more than 6 hours of sleep, and lately I've been getting over 8 (and one day I was in bed for 11 hours!).

The thing is, I feel just fine.

      Weird.
