This is an older game by 1C Company of IL-2 Sturmovik fame. However, except for Torrents, an American version appears to be nonexistant. How could I pick up a copy of this elusive game, preferably legally?

A few may know that I'm a guitarist or bassist (angles head towards LilButterCup a bit), but I'm not in posession of the four/five-stringed instrument that forms the backbone of the string section of any band.
I'm trying to find a good brand and model of bass for a starter. Is there anyone who can advise me on this issue?
Human Colony Planet T(U)-11-C was by all accounts a hunk of rock drifting in open space. Why Earth even tried to colonize it is a disputed fact to this day, five years after that colony ship took off on its ill-fated maiden voyage.
The Stardust, the name of the colony ship, was stricken about halfway through its journey by a meteorite which tore its underside open like rice paper. Barely able to hold its course, the stricken vessel limped to T(U)-11-C and was forced down by its strong gravity well. Once on the surface, the colonists were greeted by a terrible site.
They had landed on miles and miles of untouched, snowy plains. They were in the badlands of the planet, where nights could dip down to nearly -70 degrees below zero in Fahrenheit and peaked at 10 above. Heavy winds and blizzards were the norm. There was nothing for miles around them.
If they were to survive, they would have to make it to the equator or risk dying of hypothermia, starvation or worse- the new, mysterious creatures that crawled from the thick blanket of snow and ice nightly to feed upon those unfortunate enough to be outside...
Story: You're one of the colonists aboard the Stardust, a colony ship that has seen... Better days. The objective of this roleplay is to reach the planet's equator, survive the elements and the creatures and either signal for rescue or continue with colonization efforts. Either way a sequel will be made if we hit the lock limit.

Earth has been nearly consumed by an unearthly threat; the Keldari. Despite the Allied Earth Defense Force's best attempts to drive them away, it seems that the Keldari are a "Hydra's Head" scenario- cut off one supply line and two more pop up to take its place. The last city on earth; Tawny Heights, has become a battleground between the Earth's remaining armed forces and a great menace from which there can be no escaping.
I sincerely hope that the Earth's child colonies will fare better than we did. But for now, we just have to survive.
~ Rear Admiral Avery Xavier Black, Allied Earth Defense Force
The Keldari, as it was referred to in this last memo left by the former military sovereign of earth, Avery X. Black, invaded Earth two years ago and has since trounced our blue planet into dust, shrugging off large-scale attacks like nothing ever happened to them. Now all but one city has fallen before them, and somehow the Keldari haven't taken it yet.
Now, you are a member of the AEDF who is defending Tawny Point. The city is a sprawling megalopolis covering six hundred square miles of southern England. The AEDF is poorly armed and ill-supplied but strong in numbers, and the Keldari can only keep attacking for so long before they get pushed back.
So, the question stands: Are YOU going to defend Tawny Point?
1) If you flame, you get kicked from the thread and don't come back.
2) Obey forum rules.
3) Keep drug/alcohol use to a minimum.
4) Cursing is allowed and probably encouraged.
Weapon: (Pick from below)
Sandhall Armories MR-140: The primary assault rifle of the AEDF. Fires 7.62x54mm rounds out of a 30 round magazine on either semi, burst, or full automatic. Fairly accurate, versatile and common mid-range weapons platform with a mount for an underslung grenade launcher, micro-rocket launcher or shotgun.
Sandhall Armories MR-140C: The carbine version of the MR-140. With a shorter stock, carbon fiber construction, attached ACOG scope and optional front grip, this close-quarters weapon improves on an already lethal design.
Sandhall Armories MR-140C SOPMOD: Short for "Special Operations Peculiar Modification", the SOPMOD version of the MR-140C is equipped with an infra-red reflex sight, silencer, flashlight and underslung rocket-propelled grenade launcher.
Sandhall Armories P-20: The sidearm of choice for the AEDF, this semi-automatic 6-round revolver fires a .44 Magnum slug as fast as the user can pull the trigger. The drawback of the gun is its massive recoil, combined with semi-automatic firing, make it a very unstable and innacurate weapon.
Mercir S-220: The S-220 is an AEDF sniper rifle with a 4x-18x variable zoom scope with optional infrared and night-vision attachments. It has an integrated laser pointer and fires .50 caliber AP rounds. The drawback is that the gun is bolt action, and must be hand-reloaded after every shot.
Gungnir X-1: The only experimental weapon to ever be brought to the human side of the battlefield this late in the fight, the Gungnir X-1 is a semi-automatic, revolver-style shoulder-mounted rocket launcher. Firing radar-guided missiles from a six-rocket drum, the Gungnir X-1 is considered to be a heavy weapon and is very rare to see on the battlefield.
This is an Ace Combat Roleplay. This means that modern day military aircraft- concept or otherwise- can be used, such as EF-2000 Typhoons, Su-37 Terminators, Su-47 Berkuts, etc.
Set after the close of the Anean Continential War (AC6), Emmeria is left to repair its shattered economy. Osea, still the gargantuan supernation as always, thunders towards becoming the dominant nation on Strangereal; the Ace Combat analog of Earth. Seeing an opportunity, the tiny, heretofore unexplored nation of Sotoa sees an opportunity and attacks the wounded Estovakia, hoping to sieze control of the stricken nation while its military rebuilds. Forced to defend itself against the agressors, Estovakia begins recruiting mercenaries from across the world and grouped them into a lone unit referred to as the "Silent Knights Air Command Force". The fate of the war will be decided by the brave souls on both sides of the conflict. Are you ready to become one of them?
1) Obey the forum rules. I hate them as much as the next guy, but hey. They must be dealt with.
2) Spamming and flaming WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. AT ALL. EVER.
3) Grammar and punctuation are a must.
4) Fhajad will be disregarded no matter what his posts say.
5) Have fun but be realistic; you can't fly a 600 mile wide superplane with a megacannon that shoots bubbles of plasma the size of the moon. You get a fighter. End of story.
Name: (A human name)
Callsign: (Your flight name.)
Age: (Between 19 and 45)
Gender: (Male or Female)
Appearance: (Picture or description)
Aircraft: (Pick from any modern day military aircraft)
Other Information: (Any information about your character not described in other categories).
Name: Lawrence Calahan
Appearance: Fair skin, brown hair in a buzz-cut, 6'2" and 182 pounds.
Aircraft: Su-47 "Berkut"
Other Information: Formerly from the small country of Verusa, Calahan graduated from the Verusan Flight Academy at 19 and went on his first sortie at 21. Shortly after that first sortie he went MIA under "mysterious circumstances" and became a mercenary. The conflict is a personal vendetta in a way; the Sotoans carpet-bombed his hometown in Verusa during a war 9 years ago which completely destroyed Verusa's economy and sent it into a downward spiral. Enlisting with the Estovakians is only one way he is getting revenge on the Sotoans.

"All airborne units, this is Commander Lawson, the leader of the forces headed to the Barrier. Synchronize watches; six seconds to eleven hundred hours..."
Blonsky removed one hand from the control yoke on his Pelican and rolled up the sleeve of his uniform, revealing the platinum watch he used to time missions.
Blonsky placed his hand on the time setter of the watch and prepared to press the small button in when Lawson gave the order.
He turned the small knob until all three hands were in position.
Now Blonsky just waited, his hand hovering over the button.
Blonsky made a last adjustment to the watch, then waited a bit longer.
The sound of watch buttons clicking throughout the Pelican could be heard, signifying that they were all now on the same time-table. Their fates were tied to those turning hands. Blonsky looked out at the ragtag group of flyers formed up around him. Many of them were greener than the spring grass, having just been shipped out of basic on some far off planet to fight here. There were a few, though, that were in the same boat as Blonsky- being called out of retirement to fight this war for human's survival- again.

For Minty_Mentos, if you so choose to read this.
First off, I'll cover my den of mischief, the Electrosphere (Number 1 Ace Combat Database on the Net)
1: Me resurrecting the "AC Aircraft Girls" thread, which was basically an excuse for the members of ES to post slightly pornographic versions of the aircraft seen in Ace Combat. When we transferred to the 2.0 forum, I had to restart the topic.
Me: You guys owe me big time for re-starting this topic... But eh, what the hell.
Ribbon-Crimson (One of the mods): Well let's try to keep the pics appropriate...
Me: And wait for the topic to snowball out of control like last time!
2: Me regarding an odd, somewhat funny picture on the same thread from above.
"Goddamnit Heinkel, did you have to bring Reagan back here? I'll never stop laughing... Almost as funny as Kessy getting pegged."
The picture in question:
3: After I posted a picture of an aircraft girl with a mop and called it "my barracks janitor".
Heinkel (a friend from ES): Barracks janitor? that's gotta be somewhere between the ten flthiest jobs in this universe and it's neighbors.
Me: ... No comment.
4: In regards to posting strike witches pictures. (Strike Witches = the most fail anime evar.)
Me: Good point. Eh, when Kirby logs on i'll get her to do it. But I agree; those things were wierd as hell. Not as wierd as Reagan, of course (>.>) but still pretty damn wierd.
Heinkel: At least Reagan's funny :P those ones are just cheese.
And Kirby's a guy.
Me: Fine. I'll get HIM to do it. Keep our hands, noses and respective prides intact while watching someone else wallow in doing the dirty work.
5: By mistake, I incurred the wrath of Ribbon Crimson.
R-Crim: I warned everyone about their behavior in this topic... I will also warn people about the excessive spam posts here...
Me: *Red-faced* Oops...
MORE COMING SOON!
