...and there were two people walking around in hotdog costumes. One had an eyepatch. When this guy asked them why they were dressed as hotdogs, one replied "We're 100% beef."

o.O I still don't know what to make of that.

It was surprisingly easier than all of the past ones i did... Probably because i didn't leave that thin layer like i have on most of the rest of the pumpkins I've done. Anyways, it's in my photos. Tell me what you think.

But while we're on the subject...

    • New Pumpkin to come soon!

I've been incredibly busy with moving rooms and college (guess who got 100% on her Psychology test today! I did! ^____^), but i've still had time to go pick up a pumpkin. Don't know when exactly i'll carve this one, but maybe tomorrow. I hope it comes out alright... My design has a lot of small details, but it's *hopefully* going to be one where i'm able to cut all the way through the pumpkin. As much as i love carving the ones where I leave a thin layer for the light to shine through so i can leave dark, freestanding pieces (ex: My mouth and nose in my profile picture. If everything was fully cut out, those would just fall to the ground.), i don't like the effect too much.. It kinda looks like we have some sort of odd skin disease. Luckily, my new design (which you'll see when i post a picture of the final product) just happened to be able to be cut out completely, but in the future I'm going to try to incorporate the thin layers into shadowing more like i did with the Joker pumpkin. Wish me luck!

    • College...

Haven't written a journal in a while... Probably because i've had a pretty packed schedule. Between cooking a bunch of Mexican food (tacos, enchilladas, beans, rice) for my friend's going-away party, i've somehow found a way to fill almost every hour past 7am. School and studying has consumed most of my time. If it weren't for that Human Anatomy course i decided to take on in my first semester of college, i'd have a bunch of free time. I'll admit, however, that although it's horribly time consuming and is almost pure memorization, that class is a bunch of fun. I know i'm a nerd, but the lab is exciting. I seriously walked out of that class with a bounce in my step just because i learned the names for the various bumps, ridges, and surfaces on the bones in your arms and legs. Anyways, college is... Different. It's certainly not high school, but i think i'm not having the experience i would if i had gone to a UC or CSU. Don't get me wrong, i love this college; the classes are a blast, i just feel... lonely. I have, maybe, 4 friends at this college including my boyfriend. That was my plan, though. Go here because it's cheaper than a UC and has a great nursing program and it's close to home. College isn't just education, you know? I just wish i knew more people here because i'm incredibly shy and awkward around people i don't know (ok, i'm pretty much always awkward, shut up), but i guess this gives me an oppertunity to make new friends, right? I've already made one pretty good friend in my Human Anatomy lab, and i'm starting to be friends with one guy in my English class, one in my HA lecture, two people in my Psychology class, and no one in my Anthropology class because my sister's in there and i pretty much cling to her. So things are looking up!

    • 500 Days of Summer

My boyfriend and I went to go see it on Tuesday. Monday night we were trying to pick which movie to see and it was down to GI Joe and 500 Days of Summer. He asked which one i wanted to see and after a lot of prying (i hate to make decisions and state my opinion) i finally said i wanted to see 500 Days of Summer. Being the wonderful guy he is, we went to see that one instead of GI Joe (which i would've willingly seen because it looks freakin' awesome). About 3 minutes into the movie he exclaimed "OH! Summer is her name!?". He had no idea what the movie was about. He picked a chick flick over GI Joe. *sigh* I think that's true love.

It was a wonderful movie. Absolutely hilarious. Favorite parts have to be the after glow scene (Han Solo <3 <3 <3) and the Ikea scene ("Darling, i don't know how to tell you this, but we have a Chinese family standing in our bathroom"). We seriously haven't had that much fun watching a movie in a long time. It was great, and my boyfriend liked it, too, so total plus there.

As it so happens, i went to see it yet again the next day for my best friend's birthday. Haha, movie theatre was showing the wrong movie, though.. Instead of watching 500 Days of Summer, we got treated to the first scene of The Orphan. I was confused, too, because the movie started instantly and i hadn't remembered seeing a Dark Horse/WB logo at the beginning of 500 Days of Summer. It was pretty funny because everyone thought it was just a trailer for The Orphan but then i said "Guys. The Orphan is out right now. Why would they be playing a trailer for it? I think we're in the wrong one!" The girls sitting in front of us freaked out, too. They quickly turned away from the screen and started yelling about how they didn't wan to see it and couldn't believe that they were in the wrong theatre. Then i asked aloud to the audience "Wait, is everyone here to see 500 Days of Summer?" to which everyone answered "yes" and we realized that they were playing the wrong movie. It was pretty great. Haha, that's the first time it's happened to me. My friends went to go tell the employees while i watched the first scene because i like scary movies XP

I realized something else while at the movies with my friends. Girls have vastly different reactions to the previews than guys do. When i was with my boyfriend and the trailer for The Time Traveler's Wife came up, he sighed loudly and said "God, not this movie again" When i was with 6 other girls, they were all "aww"ing and saying how much they want to see that movie. That happened with almost every preview, haha.

*pant pant* Longest journal i've written. If you read the whole thing you deserve some sort of medal for sitting through my ramblings. Seriously, thank you if you did; i hope you found it entertaining at the very least...

I know i just commented on this in the groups, but i had to add it to my journal because i LOVE these pictures. Seriously. It's one of my favorite actors with my favorite gun. Mmm... Dreamy.

I just posted this in the Halo Art forum, but i thought i'd put it in my journal, too. I made this plaque in ceramics last year... It took me a long time and was really the only thing i put my whole heart, time, and effort in to... I'm pretty proud of it.
(I realize the AR looks a tad funny... The glaze didn't set right for some reason =\)

...wasn't very funny, but it was okay. Although it did have a few amazing cameos! Including one by a Mr. Bo Burnham who I was literally just talking about last night. What're the odds?! My boyfriend and I both got giddy whenever he came on screen since we've both been huge fans for a long time. Yay Bo Burnham! ^_____^

So i was talking to my boyfriend earlier and randomly thought of Bo Burnham. I love his videos. Offensive, yes, but who isn't nowadays? I have to say, my favorite video is probably his PSA. Oh, and i finally found the Honda Commercial he did, too! I think they're two of his lesser known videos, but they're among some of my favorites.

Oh my gosh, i was looking at the MS Paint thread in the forums and someone MS Painted a scene from The Brave Little Toaster (an animated movie from the late 80's/early 90's) and i really want to watch it now. I seriously miss that movie since i haven't seen it in years... It's a significant part of my childhood, agh, i love it.
