Well, I decided to man up and look over my pics and videos from RvBTO. And of course, just like I did with RTX, I made another video compilation for the few clips I took. I didn't take nearly as many videos as I did during RTX, but I think this video has some potential. smiley8.gif

      You can watch it here.

I haven't uploaded my photos anywhere, but as soon as I do, you'll be the first to know.

RvBTO was absolutely wonderful. With the exception of a bunch of flight delays and mechanical problems (why does this always happen to me?), I finally made it to Toronto around 11:30pm Wednesday. The following days were filled with friends, fun, and alcohol. You drunken sons of a bitch.

I mentioned earlier today on Twitter that it hadn't really hit me that both RTX and RvBTO were over, and there are no more scheduled events for this year. It just now sunk in. Maybe it was the deafening silence in my apartment, the empty calendar on my wall, or just being able to see some of the many photos from this weekend, but I now know how terrible it feels to have a meetup of such wonderful friends finally come to an end. After RTX, I had RvBTO to look forward to, but now I have to wait a whole year. God, that seems like an eternity. I haven't even dared to look at my photos/videos from TO yet, because I don't feel like crying on top of everything, but I'll get to that as soon as I can. If I seem more quiet than usual, chalk it up to that since I really don't feel like sharing any more of my personal life other than what I've already said.
My new roommate moves in on Friday. School starts up again at the end of the month. With the exception of updating Warpek Plays, I don't really know what else I'm going to be doing. Wow, that sounds pathetic.

I miss every single one of you. Yes, even those of you who thought I wouldn't.

      All my love,
      Warpek smiley12.gif

Now I said I wouldn't update about my Let's Play series again, but I thought this standalone video was too good to pass up. You can view my post here. I won't spoil anything else.

Many of you have probably already seen my photos on Facebook. Here's an album if you couldn't see the photos I uploaded there (that's probably because we aren't friends. WHY AREN'T WE FRIENDS??)

Here's just a preview of some of the awesomeness in that album:

    • Dear Future Me, You're Welcome

So I finished reading Catching Fire while at work today (don't judge me), and really wanted to start another book. I had forgotten that I removed the books I usually keep in my office, however, and was stuck having to actually work. I was thought about whether or not I'll make a middle-of-the-night run to Kmart to pick up the next book in the Hunger Games series but decided against it.
On a whim, I looked to see if my favorite author was working on anything new. As it turns out, Mitch Albom has a new book called The Time Keeper coming out in September. I preordered that book faster than you can name the Five People You Meet in Heaven.
Knowing myself, though, I will completely forget about it until it arrives in the mail. Here's to future excitement and textual adventures!

I forgot to mention that in light of RTX, I got some t-shirts for myself. I'll upload some pictures to my image gallery, but I took two photos that made me laugh.

So of course I had to make it into a .gif.

    • An Explaination

      Warpek

I wanted to start off this journal with an apology to anyone if I may have seemed sad, angry, or anything other than happy, really. I know I've been distant (although I'm trying not to be!), but I have a lot going on right now.

Let me explain. Last Monday, you heard that James was coming to live with me. This had been in the works for a month or so. While he was in Oregon, he started looking for jobs down here. We had planned everything out. In fact, he had numerous interviews with a local game company, and they asked him to come down to tour their office and officially accept the position. This was perfect, since it coincided with the visit that we had scheduled. One of the only problems with working at that game company, however, was that they needed him to be down here by the start of July. Regretfully, this meant that our roommate who was planning to move out sometime this summer had to get out ASAP to accommodate James (as a guest, James could stay for a total of 15 days while Ciddy was still living here, but any longer and we would breach our lease). Fast-forward to last Thursday when I see James' journal saying that "moving to California just became next to impossible". That in itself was a shock. James, for your and your family's sake, I won't publicly retell what actually happened. Although, since you're "burning bridges" and seem to have no intention of talking to me (despite the fact that you blatantly lied to both our friends, families, and myself), maybe there's no point.
So now, without going into too much detail, Ciddy is moving out and we don't have a fourth roommate anymore. We're scrambling to find one, but it's definitely not going to happen by tomorrow, despite our best efforts this past week. I guess I just have a lot on my mind as of late, and I know it's been affecting me. I'm sorry for unintentionally letting it affect you all, as well. smiley12.gif

I feel like I've been away from RoosterSpeak a lot lately... For whatever reason, I can't stay connected to TeamSpeak when I'm at work, and that sucks. I miss all of your lovely voices. I've been getting on most nights during the week, but even then, it's not as much as I used to be. Hopefully now that I've started my summer vacation, I'll get to hang out with you guys and gals more. Let's see, I'm trying to figure out what's new with me...

      Oh! This happened!
      sxpsx.jpg
      Number 0041, baby.

I realized that I've been updating my Twitter/Facebook more than I have been here (Probably because the two are connected, and it's easier for me to just post to Twitter than try to access RT and make a quick journal). So if you REALLY want to get more updates on me you creepers , then follow me on Twitter. Damn, you a sexy link. I follow most of you, but that's where you get your semi-up-to-the-date info on me if you want it. Hooray, solicitation!

Let's see... I feel like I have a bunch of projects I'm working on right now. None of which are helped by the fact that I bought a 3DS for myself after I took my last final. The game I'm currently playing is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney because Will (swimmerhair) insisted that I play it. I put HeartGold on suspension to play this game (sorry, Panacamanana), so it must be interesting. I also put Sims 3 away. Sims don't starve, right? Shit...

Right, the projects I'm immediately working on! I have to say that I'm "immediately" working on them because I have loads of planned out or unfinished things that I need to work on. I always begin stuff but have to put them on hold because something else comes up. Usually school. or laziness .
Anyway, I had the idea a year or two ago to start a quilt with my grandmother. She was always sewing or quilting, but has stopped in the past year. Without getting into it because this journal is long enough already, she is now teaching me how to quilt.
      juC19.jpg
My sewing machine kept messing up (the bobbin tension was off, so the thread kept bunching up or getting snagged inside the machine), so it was probably way more tedious than it should've been. I've learned damn near everything about that sewing machine, though, and can re-thread the entire thing it in about 30 seconds tops. Here's what we've ended up making so far:
      0mtrh.jpg
      Yeah. Damn right.

Also, Happy belated birthday to my amazing sister, Rachel! WarpeksSis turned 42 24 this week! Also, congrats on escaping the clutches of the drug cartels safely making it back home from Mexico!

I feel like there's more to say, but maybe I'll write that up in another journal! Stay Tuned!

      All my love,
      Warpek
For future me's reference: Hospital stories (fire). More on the 3DS.

Yeah it's a very fun job. If you want to intern with a station I say go for it because it's a great experience and you never know how it might help you. You could always work it into a part time job if you get lucky.

    • PhatintheHat

It's a long story how I got into it. Basically I went through some pretty big life shakeups, didn't have a job and heard a commercial on the radio for a scholarship to a broadcasting school, got it, went to school and got a job immediately.

My station is a sports station so we usually have athletes on, but we had Lenny Clarke on last week,(comedian, if you've seen Rescue Me he plays uncle teddy) and also the Farrelly Brothers (they wrote and directed dumb and dumber, something about mary, stuck on you). There's another station down the hall that usually has awesome guests and if I'm lucky I'll see someone in the hallway from time to time.

heh, I'm replying to a question posed a couple weeks ago on Commando Joe's journal regarding halo vs. predator vs. aliens.

I think it's tougher than it sounds. Aliens have a horde mentality (like the flood), but they have that acidic saliva and blood. That might burn through a Spartan's armor. Just shooting up one of those up close could cripple you...

Predators are pretty badass. I'd say they're pretty comparable or even superior to Elites. They have a lot of gadgets and can take a beating much more than an Elite seems to in the game. And they can become invisible...

Spartan's...well, we know what they're capable of.

If Spartans can keep some distance from Aliens, they can do it. Close quarters? Not so sure...

Spartans would have to have a little luck with Predators (that invisibility cloak would be a game changer). I think the tactic there would be to close in on a Predator and use their hand-to-hand combat ability on them (their superior strength would probably do a hurting on a Predator). Long range fighting...I think I'd go with the Predator.

I don't know a whole lot about those programs...I'm majoring in Biomedical Engineering. As for housing, you'd probably want to stay in Poly Canyon if you were planning on living on campus...it's a bunch of super nice apartments in a corner of the school.

The campus is amazing, I love it. The people are also really nice for the most part, and a ton of people from SB go here. Like 30 from our graduating class. The only thing not so excellent is the food on campus, but in town there are a lot of great places to eat. I would recommend it.
