      Major discovery!

I can remotley program and record my Foxtel cable programs from work via the Internetz. Cool ya? Scan the TV guide, record a few eps, and then when I get home I can watch. Why did I not know about this before?

This makes me happy, plus it's Thirsty Thursday, so I am super happy.

      Bo-selecta.

BTW - watch this. The best Ali G interview evar! Side splitting funny.

One of the bestest evar bands in the universe are coming to Sydney. Who is it, do you really need to ask, why it's the DEFTONES of course.

The poop of it all is that they are not having their own show, but rather playing at a festival. Normally I am all for these big days of music (aka the Big Day Out which was golden). But this festival is not so to my liking.

The Soundwave Festival is a little more hardcore than I like. The only other band that I dig in the line-up if Unwritten Law, but I cannot afford the $100 just for those two bands.

The Tones are playing their own show is Melbourne, but not Sydney. FTW? Sydney >>>> Melbourne.

      Dilemma. What to do? Help?

Yes it rocked. I saw Tool. Very happy.

Camera phone pics, but you can see Maynard up the back where he stood for almost the whole show, and the massive drumkit.

Played all the top tracks; I couldn't be happier with their performance. Their albums are great to hear, but to really experience them, you must see them live.

However I am munted from the pit, bruses everywhere, and almost no voice left. smiley0.gif

      Wolfmother

I've been a busy mofo lately. This journal will be a little jumbled with all the going-ons of Wolfmother.

      1. Big Day Out this Sunday! The BDO is a huge music festival that travells around Australia and New Zealand. This year I am going to the Goldcoast BDO, with a few mates who live up there. This years lineup includes: Tool, Muse, The Killers, Jet, The Vines, The Streets, My Chemical Romance, Crystal method DJs, Violet Femmes, You Am I, John Butler....

I missed getting tickets to Tools Sydnet show, so I'm super-pumped to see them on Sunday. I'm going up a day earlier to have a BBQ and hit the cold hard with my mates, as I haven't seen a few of them in 12 months or so. Tops.

      2. An old uni buddy of mine is in town tonight, so I'm going to show him the Sydney night life. Hope he brought his drinking pants, as I can already taste the sweet lager, and it's only 10:30am here.

Porbably knock-off work, hit a pub and watch the last two hours of the cricket. Then introduce the boy to the litre beer stiens at the Lowenbrau, then stumble around to any place which will let two spasticated gentlemen in. Need to remember not to get to spastic, as I have a flight at noon tomorrow. (Flying hungover is teh suck, but I'll take one for the team.)

      3. Finally copied my MP3 store to my work laptop. Now I have about 10,000 MP3's to get me through to day, which is much better than the one radio station that I can get through my desk phone. Hearing Nickleback and Pussy Cat Dolls all day is driving me mental.

Currently listening to a combination of Incubus\SOAD\Peral Jam\Deftones\RHCP.

      4. Beer o'clock is in 6 hours, and as the boss is away we might hit the local pub for a $7 steak and a pint of cold hard for luch. It's all good!

      Have a splendid weekend.

      Dear Canada and all Canadian's.

Thank you for Maple Syrup. It has increased my love for pancakes ten-fold. Far better than Golden-Syrup or any other pancake topping.

    • Christmas Holidays

      Wolfmother

      Merry Christmas to all.

I have a top-notch road trip planned, where my girlfriend and I will be travelling from Sydney through the east coast of Australia up to Queensland for 2 weeks. My leave starts on Saturday the 23rd, and returning on January the 7th. That might not be much for you student type people who get bazillion holidays a year, but for a working man like myself, 2 weeks holiday is a looooong time.

My sister lives in Brisbane, so we will spend Christmas and a few more days there. The drive normally takes about 9 hours or so, so we will stop at Coffs Harbour on the north coast of New South Wales (the state which Sydney is the capital of) to break up the drive for a night. Once in Brisbane sinking beers, checking out the local drinking holes and taking it easy is the adjanda.

After 3 nights or so we are off south from Brisbane to the Goldcoast to see an old friend, and sink more beers and party hard. Then north past Brisbane again to the Sunshine Coast to see some more friends, and have a killer New Years Eve party which will probably last for 3 days.

I love Queensland, so liad back, good weather, and good beaches. It will also give me a chance to test the Forester, as I've only drive about 2,500 kilometres since I brought her.

By then my liver will be shot and my wallet empty, ao we will slowly cruise back down through Queensland and New Soutch Wales to Sydney. Hit a few winneries on the way back to restock my wine collection, and catch some waves at a beach or two if the swell is good.

Back at work on January the 8th, so i probably won't be around here again until then.

      Take it easy
      /Wolf

Caught Miami Vice at the open-air cenima over the weekend (suck it Dedalus). The movie was OK; with a Ferrari 430, and BMW M6's, and a heap of 'go fast' boats with quad outboards on each. OMG drools.

But this journal is more obout the open-air cinema experiance. Basically the movie starts at sunset, in Centennial Park near the Sydney city. Bring some beers, a bottle of red, snacks, and order a pizza from the local pizza dude. Then hire bean bags for me and my girl, get comfy and watch the movie.

So this is cool yah? Even cooler is that at sunset the local park bats are out hunting for bugs, so I spend half the night looking into the sky at them. Bats are cool.

I was actually disappointed by the Movie. Colin had a top tache going on, so his character was instantly elevated from cool to super-fucking-gansta cool status. But the story itself was wafer thin. A movie based on a badass 80's series had so much more to offer.

Anyways, I will be back to the open-air cinema. If you live in Sydney you must check it out.

Italian. I thought it was spanish too when I heard it. Jimmerz threw them my way.

Song's called "The Enemy Guns." It sounds like an amazing song to use for a Sergio Leone western.
