I'm currently working on a project to create an Extranet website.
The server architucture will be 2 x web servers, and 2 x database servers, with the web servers in the DMZ and the database servers on the internal LAN.
The plan is the load balance the 2 web servers, using the built-in Windows Network Load Balancing tools. The website will be installed on both servers, for both redundancy and load balancing reasons.
From what I have learnt each webserver is configured with the same IP address, and connected together with a 'heart-beat' cable (cross-over cable I guess) for load balancing communications.
Has anyone done this before on 2003? or even on 2000?
Is it hard to do?
