How can I keep on living without really knowing who I am, why I'm here, what I am supposed to do and how the world works? The prospects of humankind are the result of study, mastering, and analysis over a subject. How can I live believing I will never truly understand the world or even life itself? If I say I don't need this information to keep on living aren't I saying I don't really have control and utterly renouncing any responsibility over my life or it's consequences to the world? How can I be a reasonable person if I don't have reason over my own life?
What rewards are there in life? If I live with a purpose, and dedicate part of my lifetime for a cause, who will really benefit from that? How can I think it will really matter after I'm dead? If I have emotional rewards in mind, love; fun; power; centering my life around these emotions implies also being a subject to their respective negative counterparts, and in a world I can't control or even understand, doesn't this mean surrendering myself to chance (or whatever you believe in)? Isn't it hypocrisy to apply logic in everyday life without justifying it?

Try as I might, I can't keep pretending everything is going to be fine; nothing seems worthwhile anymore. Sure, there is always a "better tomorrow" somewhere, but I can't see it. When I can only settle for "leftovers" or "second best", why keep doing my best at all?
All this nice talk of "you're a nice guy" or "learn from your mistakes and move on" is just a front to hide the message, "we don't want you here".
"People smile at your face while they put a knife in your back"
I still stand by that quote, and with the direction this world is going, it may have to become this fear-addled country's motto. People today are just so afraid of taking chances and risks that they never leave their little circle of comfort; just too comfortable in there to step out of it.
Talking is also getting to be less effective; just a temporary feel-good to a lingering problem. When inner turmoil outweighs coping methods, a release or escape gets to sound much better; my thoughts turn dark, morbid, and disturbingly realistic. A good end to this chapter of my life.

Then I realize there is a whole world out there I haven't experienced and people I haven't met yet. This chapter may close but I can write a new one which can be better than the last. Sure, things didn't go the way I would have liked, and didn't really deserve what I got, but perhaps life isn't about getting what you deserve. Maybe it's working with what you get and making the best of it, bittersweet as it may sound. And just maybe, if you're real lucky, you can get a real gift worth living for.

Or not. I don't know, I'm just an naive fool.

I watched Pulp Fiction a while ago, and my favorite person in the movie has to be the Mr. Winston Wolfe character played by Harvey Keitel. To me, it's a particularly inspiring scene because he portrays a man who knows what to do, how to do it, and knows the quickest and most efficient way to do it (all in the time-span of about ten minutes!). He may not do any of the work, himself, but he kept his composure, had the plan, and ensured the job got done and on time despite the urgency of the situation. A model of a true leader.

Ten years ago, I was a freshman in high school, finishing up World History when we saw the attacks in New York. As I was about begin Art, the city was still a mess, and everyone (I use this term loosely) was still attracted to the news. Whether they were genuinely concerned/worried about the people in the city or just glad the distraction was enough to give them free time, I felt my studies were more important so I just saw this as another tragedy the media loved (and still loves) to report. While I didn't feel any kind of sympathy or any emotional connection to the catastrophe, I did feel a slight fascination and excitement in this because it broke the monotony of my high school experience. Perhaps even glad that the general populace was finally trying to think outside of their political borders.
      World_Trade_Center_lobby%2C_08-19-2000.p
Of course, now, it's a much more sobering thought because ten long years have passed and this is all I can show for it.

To those who have lost and have been lost to the attacks ten years ago, you will not be forgotten.

      Ohrah.

I've been trying to get in for about a year now, but MEPS is really dragging their feet on me and my paperwork... But as soon as I do get to see the contract, I'm signing my life to them.

Oh ok nvm, then she is pretty badass and awesome. Sorry just the Soviet Union was first created at the end of WWI and it existed all the way through the Cold War and ended during the Cold War/ at the end of the Cold War so it's really confusing to know what people she killed unless you actually know about her ya know?

    • noob55

Interesting pic, i guess that counts eventhough th epeople she killed were probably from countries trying to break away from opression and be free from the Soviet Union

I use the cheap walmart ones, all I do is get homedepot to cut a long piece of finished particle board into more shelves, grab some extra metal shelf clip thingys, and use a drill to add more shelf holes (measure twice, drill once). Then you just insert the shelf clip holder things and add the extra shelves. Turns an ordinary 6ft 5 shelf bookshelf into a 7 or 8 shelf media rack for dvds or bluray respectively, more if you are doing it for CDs. ~$35 for the bookshelf, ~$15 for the extra shelves and the shelf holders. Beats the heck off what you'd pay for a similar setup at best buy or some other place.

I know that now and I am going to give up this flame war because I want to be in good standing with the spooks and I don't think prison is a good choice right now. Have you done convoys over in Afghanistan? I can see how you can be mad now because if you did convoys then you probably saw a lot of terrible shit.

Alright maybe I hash my last first two comments about coming for you because I wouldn't really do that. But you still need someone to give you a good lesson from what you said on my profile, don't assume anything about anyone because that really offended me man. Keep that in mind. Also I don't completely disrespect the Air Force because I have a buddy doing ATC but just some of you guys piss me off.

By the way Avatar is fucking gay like you.

Hey i noticed that gangster, Master sgt's comment to you. Lol i'm not going to lie, i would love to see an idiot like a gangster like him try to fight with u and get f'd up. I think it would be quite humerous. Is he completely oblivious to the fact that you are in the military? lol i mean u could probably break every bone in his body. What is he going to do, use a knife or handgun and try to be cool? Well if he was fighting a civilian i guess that would work but a trained soldier who knows how to fight properly in hand to hand combat and is smarter...naah he would get f'd up in seconds lol

Ehh i prefer Wii more than PS3 but i've never been a Sony/ Playstation fan. I tried out Playstation and it was ok. I played it mostly for Spyro Woot! lol :3
I've always been a Nintendo fan and so i was sad when they came out with the Wii. I think the Wii was a screw up but w/e it still has some good games that you don't need the remote to play

I was really sad also that she wasn't a romance plot int he first game. I am Really really hopeing she becomes romanceable in the next game. She really should be since many people want that and i thinks he is alot better looking than all of hte other female characters in Mass Effect 2 and i suppose also for the original one as well. I liked Liarra in the original game but Tali is more awesome, kick ass, and better looking
