So I'm just going to start this off by saying I'm not the best with 'words' and 'phrases' and 'sports.' While that last one isn't quite as much of a handicap as of late, the first two leave me crippled beyond belief more often than they probably should. Every email, every tweet, every message to a friend that I've written for the last month has been carefully handcrafted and meticulously revised and rewritten over and over again. All to ensure that when I hit that submit button I don't spend the rest of the day feeling like a kid in middle school who finally worked up enough courage to send their crush a note in class, and constantly go back over every last detail in my head to see how big of an asshole I was.

This journal is no exception, but I'm going to try to capture the essence of what I'm feeling right now.

I say all of this because I don't know how to say just how thankful I am for the opportunity to turn RTMA into an official RT production (renamed to Minimations - Straight Outta RT). And how incredibly thankful I am to everyone who enjoyed it back in its early days enough for it to make it to this point. Thanks to @FromShanePR and @KyleDoesGTA who produced it with me and put up with my excessive nervous giggling every time we got an email and not telling anyone about the solo dance party I had when Gray first contacted us.

Also, thanks @superscuba23 for not questioning why we were spending less time with him, and more time in GTA testing and shooting stuff. And also @TuxedoJericho who, if you read our Twitter feed, is apparently our biggest fan.

It feels like I'm thanking a butt-fuck-ton of people. Should I thank less? More? Fuck it, I'll leave it as is.

I was going to make this post when the news was first announced over the weekend, but I figured I'd wait until the first episode was uploaded so that everyone can see what the fuck I've been talking about in this entire essay. As of right now it's up for sponsors, public tomorrow. and there will be a new episode on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

Ahhhhhhhh! This is just so fucking awesome! Fuck yes! Ahhhhhhh!

Sorry, I had to get it out of my system.

So to recap: I'm not good with words, but thank you. Also I definitely did NOT start dancing when I heard the news. I don't care what @FromShanePR or @KyleDoesGTA tells you. It didn't happen.

Don't you just hate it when websites make you reset your password to include the a sneezing panda? Me too! The exchange rate of that stuff is expensive.

So we made a GTA V short about it. Check it out if you'd fancy.

Ninja Edit: Anybody know how to insert images into a journal post on the new site? I can't seem to figure it out.

FINALLY! This game is the definition of grind.

I originally went for this Platinum back when the game first came out back in March, and got most of the single-player trophies within a week. That part was easy. I actually really liked the campaign. It was a bit predictable, but it was a nice breath of fresh air to play an FPS that wasn't based around modern wars. I would go into detail, but in all honesty I played the single-player so long ago that I completely forgot what I liked and disliked about it. I guess that kind of speaks for how forgettable it was.

The multi-player is really where the grind comes in. The biggest "fuck you" achievement requires you to get 25 kills with the MAC-11 and 25 kills with the Double Barrel Shotgun. Easy right? WRONG. Both of those weapons are the very last things you unlock if you follow a very specific path through the game's medal system on the Sniper and Shotgun classes both of which I've never used before . The multi-player itself is actually really fun! Hot-wire and Blood Money are actually two really cool new game mode and, again, it's refreshing for the BF franchise and even the FPS genre in general. After getting to Rank 50+ and finally unlocking my MAC11 and Double Barrel, I was able to get those last 50 kills. Then there was only one thing left to do...

I had forgotten about the "Real Action Hero" trophy which requires you to kill an enemy while flying away from a building via runaway zip-line. All I had to do was reload the mission, play it through and kill one last guy to get my platinum. It was also slightly poetic that I finally got the platinum, by playing the mission entitled "Independence Day" on the 4th of July.

    • We Need RTMA Ideas!

@Speedfreak88 @FromShanePR and I have been doing Rooster Teeth Machinimated Adventures for a while now and the time has finally come...

WE NEED MORE IDEAS. We're starting to run low on stories and situations to machinimate. We have a few more episodes cut up and ready to go, but after that we have pretty much no ideas. They can be from Podcasts, Let's Plays, Shorts, etc. just as long as it's RT/AH/FH related! You can leave me a comment on this post, message me via RT site, reddit, youtube, xbox live, psn, or send me a damn carrier pigeon if you have to! We really want to keep making these but we need to find some good material that works well with GTA.

@Speedfreak88 @FromShanePR and I are back with our 8th RTMA in which Ryan and Geoff get caught up in a life of drugs, money and butt stuff while Jack enjoys a nice, peaceful episode of 'Ryan the Monster,' on the Disney Channel.

Most of the time I take these little news/journal posts as a time to complain about the GTA engine and explain whatever kind of difficulties were had during production, but this short in particular went off without a hitch. There were no issues with matchmaking, or the day/night cycle, or people accidentally killing each other. It actually felt kind of weird to not have any problems. We need more problems! Please Rockstar, add in a feature where every half hour a pigeon swoops down and pecks a characters eyes out right in the middle of the scene. Or maybe a mechanic that doesn't let you take out your phone unless you are near something worth taking a picture of. Oh! Maybe you can take the editor from PC and put it on consoles! That would surely make our lives a living hell!

Also, Check out the RTMA group!

    • The Wolf Among Us Platinum

So I'll admit, this one wasn't all too difficult, as most of the trophies were just given to you for playing through each episode, but it still has a decent amount of miss-able achievements as well. I'm no stranger to Telltale games. I absolutely loved the first 2 seasons of their take on The Walking Dead, although, already being a fan of both the comics and TV show, I was a bit biased.

The Wolf Among Us was always a game that I had just assumed wasn't for me. I was never a fan of the whole 'werewolves and fairy tales' sort of genre, so initially I went into the game thinking it'd be an easy platinum that I wouldn't necessarily enjoy. After the first episode, my entire perspective changed. Something about Telltale's writing just draws me in every time, and makes characters that I can simultaneously love and hate and even get me invested in a setting that I never would have thought I'd be interested in. The Books of Fables, which are the 'collectables' of the game were actually really interesting to sit down and read to get a bit of back-story to the plot. I've never actually done that with Destiny's Grimore cards, or Call of Duty's intel for instance, but I think I actually might start after such an experience.

The plot revolving around a crime investigation kept me constantly engaged and trying to figure out the culprit. I'm pretty sure I've accused just about every single character (including Bigby himself) of conducting the murders, yet in the end, I was dead wrong.

Not to say that the story didn't have any flaws. As someone who wasn't aware of some of the laws of the universe, it seems kind of cheap when they supposedly killed Snow White for shock value only to reveal that the dead body belonged to a prostitute who was 'glamoured' to look like her immediately in the next episode.

Anyway, I've gone on for way too long, but it is an amazing game with an amazing story. After playing through each episode once, and then using chapter select to clean up the last of the Books of Fables, I got my platinum in a total of about 12 in-game hours.

      'Superhero'
      s5IAcMC.jpg

This had to be the longest project @FromShanePR @Speedfreak88 and I have worked on in a while. The raw, unedited footage amounted to roughly 8 total hours of people aiming their guns at each other, police cars crashing into the camera man and sex-changes.

All for a measly little 3 minute music video shot in a week because we like to make things difficult . All-in-all I think it turned out pretty spectacular. Give it a watch if you've got precisely two minutes and fifty-one seconds to spare.

Huge thanks to Ryan O'Connell for helping us shoot the climactic ending, Zach King (@superscuba23) for helping us pace out the climactic ending, and Ryan Penberg for telling us why the not-so-climactic ending completely sucked and how to make it better. Plus again, thanks to @FromShanePR (Shane) and @Speedfreak88 (Kyle) for stopping me from putting a baseball bat through my monitor when GTA V's auto-assigning teams royally fucked us about 47 times.

Oh, and this shot was completely intentional ;)
