The Shadows of The Covenant (SoTC) is an all-Elite, Xbox Live clan for Halo: Reach. We are a competitive clan, that believe in honor and respect, and we abide by such, being both stern and fair in leadership. We are looking for members who are dedicated, and will strive to do the best they can.

      Clan Leaders: Imperial Admiral, Buwx
      - High Councilor, Dinoman666
      - Ultra, bzz233

      Xbox Live Gamertags: Buwx
      - Dinoman666
      - bzz233

      Email: ShadowsOTCovenant@hotmail.com

If you wish to join (or simply have any questions), you may contact the SoTC leaders via Xbox Live or Email.

      Information (The Short Version)
What is it that the SoTC actually has to offer?

      - We offer a well organized and fair command structure.

      - A canon-based set of ranks, titles, and an organized member grouping system.

      - We offer a competitive, but friendly community of members and clan leaders.

      - We host periodic clan events, such as training and matchmaking sessions.

      - We have a well-constucted website which not only provides clan discussion, but other, more random topics as well.

      Information (In-Depth)

      The Ranking System
There are a series of ranks and titles established within the SoTC; 13 ranks in total, and 10 titles of which can go along with these ranks. All members are required to wear a certain uniform, depending on their rank (and in certain cases, title). An SoTC uniform consists of your Halo: Reach Player Model, Armor, Colors, and your Xbox Live Motto. All members of the SoTC must set their preferred species to Elite, must equip the proper Armor Permutation and color (and color shades) for your rank/ title, and your Xbox Live Motto must be as follows:

      - SoTC {Your Rank}

Your Halo: Reach emblem, Xbox Live Gamertag, and anything else not mentioned above is yours for customization.

      The Grouping System
Members of the SoTC are grouped together in seperate grouping units (Files, Lance, and Legions), each of which is lead by either a File Leader, a Lance Leader, or a Legion Commander. Files are the equivalent of Fireteams, a unit of four members. Lance are the equivalent of a Squad, consisting of twelve members all together. Legions, the largest of the units, consist of thirty-six members in total. When placed in a unit, members will fight and train alongside their squadmates during any particular clan event (clan matches, training sessions, etc.), they will play as a team, and fight like true Elites!

      Clan Requirements and Registration
If you wish to join the Shadows of The Covenant, you must contact the clan leaders via either Xbox Live or Email (listed above and below). Prior to joining the Shadows of The Covenant, it is expected that you understand the clan requirements of which have been established. Being a member of this clan, you must meet the following criteria:

      1) You are to own an Xbox 360 and must own (and be capable of renewing) an Xbox Live gold account.

      2) You must own the game Halo: Reach.

      3) You must be willing to play as an Elite during online interactions, as well as follow the uniform of the ranking system established in SoTC.

      4) You must understand that this is a competitive clan and that we will be partaking in many competitive online events (training sessions, clan matches, etc.). This meaning we will expect you to be an active participant, and that you will need to take such events seriously.

      5) You must be willing to take and follow orders from higher ranking officers. You will show respect to your peers.

      6) You must be of the age 14 or higher.

As stated above, if you have any questions concerning any of the above stated guidelines, you may contact the clan leaders, Buwx, Dinoman666, or bzz233 via email or Xbox Live.

'Tolomee and I have finally spoke again. Unfortunately, he has been... reassigned, as have I, specifically to the Mausoleum of the Arbiter. A noble task, of course, but I wish Darka was there to talk to. However, he was promoted to Honor Guard Ultra, and has been assigned the no doubt arduous task of protecting the Prophets themselves. Naturally, he has been quite busy. I have barely had any chance to talk to him at all. Yet another thing to keep me up at night, frustrated and conflicted about my place as an Honor Guardsman...

Anyway. 'Tolomee told me a very exciting tale last night in the barracks, when he finally had a break. Councilor 'Zephiree had met with the Prophets, and he didn't seem particularly happy. Apparently, he had to speak with them about a certain confrontation that had taken place in what the humans call the "Psi Serpentis System." A single human ship had lured two entire Covenant fleets, a total of 300 ships, away from a retreating human fleet and into an obvious trap by taunting them, then triggering the supernova of a nearby gas giant. As 'Zephiree had said, the trap could have easily been avoided had the Prophets, who had been speaking with the Fleet Masters present at the time, made them stop and think about what was going on and stay away from an obviously doomed ship that was trapped in the planet's gravity well. However, the Prophets had brushed him off, claiming that the Fleet Masters should've been able to see such a trap coming. After all, they didn't earn that rank for being poor strategists. The Councilor argued, correctly so, I might add, that insulting a Sangheili's honor, as the human Ship Master had done, could infuriate any worthy warrior beyond reason, and furthermore, that if the Prophets cared at all for annihilating the human race, they would not sacrifice hundreds of ships for no reason. "We have lost enough ships already," 'Zephiree had allegedly stated, "We may outnumber the vermin a hundred to one, but another loss like that would be politically and militarily inconvenient." Again, the Prophets merely waved the accusation away with a calmness unlike any 'Tolomee had seen before. They claimed that any warrior worthy to begin the Great Journey would sacrifice themselves for the greater good, as should 'Zephiree. The Councilor had no choice but to merely dip his head, mutter something along the lines of an apology, and leave. 'Tolomee claimed that he was even angrier now than when he had first walked in.

It is unusual to see a Councilor, especially 'Zephiree, this furious over one fight. We have defeated the humans on countless occasions. What makes one major loss such a troubling event? He understands that we must all make sacrifices for the Great Journey, I am certain of that. However, I cannot deny his arguments. I've always heard rumors about political machinations in the Covenant High Council, but I doubt very strongly that the Prophets would ever do anything to deliberately weaken their protectors. I certainly hope that is not what 'Zephiree thinks.

      <Sigh> Politics. How tiresome.

Anre told me another story about the Demons again. There had been rumors for awhile about the battle, actually. A small team of these armored humans had apparently slaughtered an entire Legion and assassinated the three Councilors they were protecting. A fearsome foe indeed, you might think. However, Anre declared the rumor false, as he had participated in the battle himself: Only a few Lances were killed, and two of the Councilors had managed to escape. They even managed to kill one of the Demons before retreating. It fills me with relief to know these new human warriors can be defeated.

It worries me, yet excites me. These tales Anre tells must be true, and if so, it makes me wonder. It makes me have... doubts. I admit, it's hard to sleep some nights. I am always restless, distracted, thinking. Darka is worried about me. He must have noticed this change within me that even I cannot figure out.

No, I refuse to believe that the life of a frontline warrior is any more glorious than being a member of the Honor Guard! We are the mightiest, noblest Sangheili fighters in existence! None can match our power! If the humans do somehow find their way to High Charity, they had better send the Demons. Anything less will fall before our might! We will slaughter them like the vermin they are!

...and yet, we are a martial people. I have yet to participate in a true battle like Anre has before, and it appalls me to think about it. Are we not here to be the sword of the Prophets? Are we not here to provide the true military might of the Covenant Empire and spread the will of the gods? If so, why are my talents wasted here, doing nothing?

Enough of this! I must focus on my duties. 'Tolomee always says that asking too many questions is bad for your health. I will take his advice to heart.

I spoke to Ultra Anre 'Rakamee again today. He was asking to see the Prophets, but he had to wait for a short while. The Hierarchs seem to be eternally busy with this or that. 'Tolomee was elsewhere, so Anre proceeded to regale me with one of his tales of his military career. It was... fascinating. Darka is certainly an excellent friend to talk to, but he has few stories that can top Anre's. The tales he tells make me wonder sometimes...

What have I missed while I was wasting away my days as an Honor Guardsman? What if I had joined the Covenant Army as a Minor and slaughtered my way to the top, like 'Rakamee did, instead of using my family history to get to such a lofty, prestigious, boring position? I feel like I... I cheated.

This is wrong. Why am I thinking such blasphemous thoughts? This is a great position, one worthy of honor and glory beyond measure! And yet... it doesn't feel right...

Enough. I doubt anyone who hears this log will want to listen to my banter about "Honor Guard" this and "Honor Guard" that. More interesting is what happened to Officer Erdu 'Cololee today. I was never particularly fond of him, and neither is 'Tolomee or 'Rakamee, and apparently the Hierarchs weren't fans of him either. They almost immediately ordered us to turn him away. It was probably the high point of day. Maybe the Honor Guard isn't so bad after all...

      alien666

Well, the end to my day was curious, to say the least. I walked into my quarters after my shift, which, naturally, was late at night. The life of an Honor Guard is quite difficult, is it not? Regardless, that is not the point. I soon discovered that this audio recorder had been placed on my bed. It was labeled as being a gift to me, but from whom was not listed, and is a mystery. Of course, I am not one to pass up a generous, free gift, so I decided to make the most of it. Make it my personal... diary, of sorts.

What to talk about? I suppose there is little to talk about; my day was relatively... mundane. So mundane, in fact, I decided that, while at my post, to talk to my good friend and comrade, Darka 'Tolomee. I know it's a bit unorthodox, but the days seem to pass much more quickly when doing such activities. Anyway, 'Tolomee and I talked about how the Hierarchs' agents had rounded up and executed the remaining followers of the traitorous Special Operations Sangheili. I don't know very many details of his infamous career, but 'Tolomee spoke of how he had killed EIGHT Sangheili Councilors, as well as the parents of another Sangheili officer. Personally, if these stories are indeed true, then I believe those fiendish pirates got what they deserved.

Other than that, however, my day has been just as exciting as the last one. That is to say, absolutely boring. I know this is wrong to say to anyone but myself, and is verging on hypocrisy, but I cannot help myself. I feel that these conversations are the only things keeping me sane during my shift as Honor Guardsman of the Covenant Empire, and Darka is certainly an excellent conversationalist...

    • Character Profiles: Magnum and Elch

      alien666

Well, Buwx has officially named me Promotional Material Guy, so I bring you more delights for his machinima! Namely, two of the major characters from both sides:

      Name: Magnum-G002
      Height: 6'10"
      Weight: 250 lbs
      Age: [REDACTED]
      Gender: Male
Preferred Weapons: M319 Individual Grenade Launcher, MA37 ICWS Assault Rifle
      Rank: Lieutenant
Position: Grenadier and Team Leader for Spartan Team Cutlass.
Personality: The leader of the SPARTAN-III squad known as Team Cutlass, Magnum is, surprisingly considering his job, a very calm and relaxed man. He not only respects his squad, but also every man and woman in the UNSC. Magnum's loyalty assures that he follows all UNSC Rules and Regulations, to the point where he can get very annoyed if a subordinate acts out of turn. This is one of the few times Magnum's darker side is shown: that of a deadly soldier who can--and will--kill any Covenant bastard that stands in the way of his goals.

      Name: Elch 'Masalee
      Height: 8'7"
      Weight: 325 lbs
      Age: 35
      Gender: Male
Preferred Weapons: Type-1 Energy Weapon/Sword, Type-31 Needle Rifle
Rank: Zealot-class; Commander of the La'Certus Legion
Personality: From what has been observed, Elch 'Masalee seems to be just like any other Sangheili: skilled, efficient, and absolutely brutal when it comes to combat. He respects his superiors, particularly the Imperial Admiral known as Gebr Jar 'Bobatee and the Field Marshall [REDACTED] and he does his job without question, but there may be more to this Elite warrior than meets the eye. He seems particularly agitated when on the subject of the humans' SPARTAN warriors, even more so than most Sangheili...

Note: the Zealot in the pictures is actually supposed to be a Field Marshall (specifically, the Field Marshall mentioned in my journals), but neither Buwx or I have that armor yet.

That mission haunts me still. I am... concerned. Is it pre-battle nervousness? Perhaps. Still, I cannot stop thinking about that day.

The Demons. Did they deserve what was brought upon them? Even such vile creatures should die with honor on the battlefield, but what I did... Why did I release my rage in such a way? Was it because of 'Tolomee? What he did? How he... Damn him! Damn his foolhardy charge into the open! If it wasn't for him, this never would have--no! No... Enough. The blame is mine.

It was not his fault. He made a mistake in battle and paid the price. Darka died with honor, at least. He has found salvation on the Journey. But what about me? Certainly, the promotion was greatly appreciated. "Ranger Elch 'Masalee..." Heh. It certainly has a nice ring to it. And now I am a Zealot! But the Hierarchs just don't understand the Sangheili code. They did not realize the grievous mistake I made. I deserve death, no matter how dishonorable. That is why I can never block the memory from my mind. I can't, even if I wanted to. It will always be there, as a lesson. I will learn. Salvation will come to me in time. I am confident in that.

Enough of these heretical thoughts. I must stay focused. The battle will come soon, and I will no longer be distracted by this nightmare. And if I meet another Demon again... Well, I will assure that the fight is an honorable one. If I die, so be it. At least I will redeem myself.

I suppose I should go meditate now, nightmares be damned. Maybe I will find some closure soon.

Hey Dinoman, got some more footage of Primal Carnage right here:

      www.youtube.com/watch?v=45JsB9y946o

Apparently this is what I also noted:

-On the site they've confirmed that pretty much all if not most classes are in the game.

-T-Rex moves much faster now than it originally did (in the original development trailer it was very sluggish and barely able to keep up).

-Scientist has a silenced pistol and taser of sorts.

-New map it seems (small lake and large valley along with the back area of that base map where they have humans and dinos duking it out in the forest).

-Pathfinder and Trapper shown off briefly.

-You may miss it the first time but there is in fact the Dilophosaurus shown off (nothing too special other than it can keep up with the Deinonychus).

Other than that, the ending made me go "OH MY GAWD!!!"

Ah yes the Alpha Rex (which is the adult) will be a boss fight definately. Spinosaurus is definately confirmed, not sure if he's going to be a boss though, no official word on that. And if you donated you were given details on a secret dinosaur not given to the normal members which is Sarcosuchus.

T-Rex does have the most health overall and pretty much means he is the most powerful of the group but also can run you down pretty much unless you have the heavy on you.

Although there is footage of it in action, the reason they didn't show the T-Rex killing the humans was because they don't have the animations for its bite attack yet (when he bites he then picks up the human in its jaws and throws them away).

I actually agree, I did not like that roar at all. If this was supposed to be a recreation of Jurassic Park, then that T-Rex has gotta have that roar he has. That classic one that was in all three films. Oh well wait and see I suppose.

Now that is another reason why I think that Primal Carnage is cool. The Dinosaurs have a human counterpart they can tango with and at the same time have someone that can fuck their shit up completely.

T-Rex>Pyro (Pyro's flamethrower does not have a long range and I doubt its chainsaw will do a lot).
Heavy Gunner>T-Rex (Can deal the most damage of all the classes)
Raptor>Heavy Gunner (Raptor can sneak up behind and bring him down easily)
Trapper>Raptor (Trapper nails Raptor in the traps, immobilizing him)
Dilophosaurus>Trapper (Dilos frees the Raptors but can also avoid traps and venom spit will be a considerable problem for the Trapper)
Pathfinder>Dilophosaurus (Pathfinder has got the flare and shotgun, two very good weapons for bring the Dilos down and the flare obstructs the Dinosaur's view meaning venom spit is going to be almost impossible to send out).
Pteranodon>Pathfinder (Shotgun won't be so effective on a pterosaur coming from the air).
Scientist>Pteranodon (Sniper Rifle pretty much is anti-Pterosaur, not much more to be said).
Compy>Scientist (Scientist can't exactly shoot something that's very small)
Pyro>Compy (Pyro will easily be able to stop a pack of Compy's with its flamethrower).

I'm not exactly sure who the T-Rex is the nemesis of but I do believe the Pyro is the one character that will STRUGGLE against it. Whilst the T-Rex will be maneuvered like a Scorpion Tank in Halo I definately want to use him. In all honesty I can't decide which dino class is my favourite. Although I very much doubt it, I would've liked to have seen T-Rex be able to destroy walls and crates (not any made out of concrete necessarily but at least allow him to destroy some terrain, make it much harder for the Survivors to secure a proper holdout area against the Dinosaurs).

As far as I know there will be no other classes which is good as that would kill the core expeirence I think. Other than that I think I like the terrains they have planned out for the game (Desert Wasteland, Tar Pit/Boneyard etc).

Can't wait to see this game on 360 if it ever does happen (if sales are good they'll do it but if not it'll be a PC exclusive).

Ah yeah, what do you think?

Personally the Jurassic Park game sounds good but the trailer didn't look all that promising to be frank.

Primal Carnage however may seem typical FPS meets Dinosaurs but with its own twist on things so I think it will be pretty awesome (found a lot of things they;'ve talked about on the forums and such on their website).

      Hey Dinoman how are you?

Anyway I'm not sure but you may or may not have heard of a new Jurassic Park game coming for the consoles eventually from Telltale.

      www.gameinformer.com/games/jurassic_park/b/pc/archive/2011/01/14/an-unlikely-developer-steps-into-the-maw-of-a-troubled-license.aspx

Here is some gameplay footage of IGN dieing in the game: www.youtube.com/watch?v=f35tuwWlZtw

To be honest I'm a bit mixed about it. Definately good to see they have recreated the dinosaurs to how they looked in the first movie and the quicktime events could work (it is supposed to be inspired by Heavy Rain and the plot they seem to have down sounds pretty good). But yeah, I'm still going to withhold my judgement until some more footage comes out.

What I will also show you however is another title that I think looks promising. It's from an indie game developer and the game is called "Primal Carnage". Another Jurassic Park-based game but more set up where players can control both humans and dinosaurs. In fact see their website here:

      www.primalcarnage.com/website/

Also found a crapload of information here:

      www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGnXuY66TQY&feature=related

Definately looks like a game that could be a lot of fun. Though it is for PC I would love to play this game sometime.

Yeah, the reprint didn't actually fix anything. 2542 replaces 2552 in every instance of its use, Elites were still first encountered on Reach (something Bungie has officially disproven), Hunters were first encountered on Sigma Octanus IV (also false), and Master Chief was the first Spartan to get shielded MJOLNIR armor, right before the Covenant attacked Reach (which, if Halo: Reach is to be believed, again, is false). The only real difference is the extra bonus material. Dr. Halsey's Journal does explain a couple discrepancies, though (like the inconsistent number of Spartan-IIs by 2552 and the explanation of Cortana on the Pillar of Autumn and in Halsey's office at the same time). Oh, and there's still typos.

Also, while I agree that Field Marshalls are awesome and I wish you fought them more, they're still only high-ranknig Field Masters when you think about it. Judging by their name, they probably don't command ships, and Ship Master is of higher rank than Field Master.

I actually thought the journal explained a lot too as you said. Definately was a good read. It also explains how Halsey was never aware of the Spartan III's until just recently before Halo: Reach's events.

A shame the reprint did not fix up all of those problems. Either way if anything much of the book is considered garbage. In a way I prefer the way things are now. The events in The Fall of Reach happen a little too close together to be frank. I love the way the story finished as well in Halo Reach how it was through Noble Six's actions that many lives were saved. So in a way, Noble Team are the true heroes of entire series.

Field Marshalls are probably as you say, really high-ranking Field Masters. I guess they are what Field Masters become when they reach the apex of Field Mastery before proceeding higher into the ranks. I wouldn't call them something in equal to an Imperial Admiral or Supreme Commander but for such an elite to command Zealots then clearly they have some significance compared to most other aristocrats. At this point, who knows. Bungie might establish this more or they may not. I hope 343 Industries does though. At least it was good that Bungie separated both Generals and Zealots as 2 separate ranks.

Oh and yes to add onto your first quote. Yes the Fall of Reach was entertaining but not fantastic. I've seen far better authors do good stories than that. And the reprint from what I understand did not fix everything. Oh and Nylund wrote that book in 7 weeks so you can see why it seems rushed. Either way there's a lot of things in The Fall of Reach that have been proven wrong thanks to Halo Wars. According to Bungie though Halo Reach does not contradict the story and still is within the same time period (save for the dates and how the Hunters and Elites were encountered far earlier).

I think it was good to see some more insight to the Elites somewhat. Though not a lot it is interesting how they introduced the rank of Field Marshall. Asides from the fact that they lead Zealots I do believe they have a much higher role than that.

Ok, I'll respond to each of those comments:

Yeah, Halo: The Fall of Reach is extremely... wrong. Entertaining, but just flat out INACCURATE. What the hell was Eric Nylund thinking, and why the hell didn't he fix any of it in the reissued version? I has a disappoint.

The Revenant isn't really a Spectre replacement. It sort of stands on its own, to be honest. The second passenger seat was just an added bonus. It operates in a completely different manner from the Warthog. Speaking of your Revenant review...

...oral sex doesn't get anyone pregnant, LE, nevermind a Ghost or Wraith... XD

In a way it technically is. But I do see your point on that. Either way it's a lot better than the Chopper and Spectre. Warthog was more of a transport-type vehicle whereas the Revenant is a combat-type vehicle. So yeah, I guess you're right about that.

I know what I meant. XD!

Since when was Hologram in Halo 2? If you mean holography in general, it was in EVERY game, not just the second.

Also, I agree with you on the lack of MP maps they have so far, but I don't think any of them are remakes or even spiritual successors (except the Forge World variants). They're all based off of Campaign levels, which would probably explain the lack of variety. I'm sure they'll come out with a DLC Map Pack soon, though.

Ah what I meant by that was that Holograms were first seen used in combat in Halo 2 (by that I mean the Heretic Leader's Holograms). Oh yes Holograms in general have been there since the beginning in almost ever Halo game except ODST of course (with Superintendant being the AI instead of an AI Construct like Sarina or Cortana).

Oh yes there's a variety of MP maps. And whilst they are all from the Campaign like with the Firefight maps (save for the Forge World variants), Bungie did a good job of making it so they seemed less boring. In fact I actually like Boneyard more now because it's set much further into the campaign.

Still Bungie has confirmed that they are considering DLC and ways to improve online support. In fact Brian Jarrard did say they would like a few map remakes like Hang em' High and Prisoner to come back. Still, I do think the chances of DLC are pretty good. Not to mention that the chances are that they would be based in completely new locales that were never seen in the game. Even Firefight maps in DLC would be probable too. Plus it means things are a lot more refreshing, it's a win-win situation (only its a matter of inventing newer places to base maps at).

I LOVE Forge now! It kicks ass! And the ranking system is a LOT better.

Forge is FANTASTIC. Bungie has definately got that right. I was blown away by how huge and beautiful it is when I hopped in a Falcon and my friend flew me around the map. I haven't even begun to design my own maps yet because I've been too busy with matchmaking. :P

I'm thinking about doing some race tracks and then some Infection variants.

And yes the Ranking system is much better. Means unlocking armour permutations or Elite armour classes less of a chore and more worthwhile. To be frank, I found it very difficult getting an Overkill in Halo 3 (in fact I still haven't got it in Lone Wolf playlist). Had it been in teams then I'd have already gotten the Commando Helmet and Ascetic Shoulders AGES ago. Oh well.

This new ranking system actually gets more harder to raise as you go up in grades but then gets instantly easier again when you reach the new base rank (Captain, Major, Lt. Colonel etc). So it means things are far less tedious. To be honest I hardly cared for rank in Halo 3 (I'm still a Captain Grade 2/3 in that game) and is why I stuck to custom games and forge variants afterward. With Halo Reach I actually have some desire to play matchmaking to earn credits.

Also, you posted this twice. You might want to delete one... :P

Yeah General looks pretty badass (saw some footage of Infection with one guy wearing the General harness with Lightning armour effect, damn what a sight).

I think my favourites are the ones from Officer and above (Ultra, Zealot, General and Field Marshall).

You're probably right. I do hope more harnesses are coming. Maybe one that looks like an Ascetic Harness.

Either way I'm impressed with what Bungie has done for the Elites. Sure they lack the customization Spartans have but each of their armour stands out so well compared to Spartans.

Minor might be the basic one but it still looks like how your typical Elite should be.

SpecOps looks a lot better this time than the ones in Halo 3 that wore the Assault Harness.

Rangers definately look like how Elite Rangers should be instead of those Halo 2 counterparts.

Officer definately has an awesome headdress.

Ultra looks of course like something out Star Wars which is awesome.

Zealots have kickass headdresses and armour.

      Generals really stand out.

Field Marshalls are basically the fusion of both Zealots and Generals, very, very cool-looking.

Probably right but still I want to find the full screenie of this CGI version of Carter, Kat and Jorge. Damn just imagine an Elite in CGI like that (oh wait I don't have to, Halo Wars did that lol).

Still yeah, the game is gonna rock my world for a long time. Once I've beaten the campaign I'm going to start getting all of those Elite armours (can't decide on a favourite, they're all so cool!)

Hey Dinoman you are gonna want to see this, it's the brand new AVP Story trailer that just came out recently:

      Aliens vs Predator Story Trailer

Still I mean, I'd love to play as the Praetortian or Ravager. But oh well, I guess we'll wait and see, it is a reboot afterall (good to see though the PredAlien is back).

As for me, I'd definately go for the Alien as well. Though the idea of climbing upside down may take a bit of adjusting to but it shouldn't be too bad.

Still I mean I can't wait to try out the others (considering each race has aspects I like about them), the Alien because they have acid and can do hit and run tactics at any time. Predator's got the stealth and a few ranged attacks too (god the decaptiation kills he does are so fucking awesome I was like "Oh my god, he ripped out that guy's spine!"), as well as jumping ability. The Human, whilst being the vulnerable faction to either race has got the firepower and motion tracker.

I'll certainly play through each campaign but I will always save the Alien's one til last. Multiplayer meanwhile I will definately be looking forward to.

So I take it you're going to be the Alien? I really hope that in their campaign we get to use more than one type. Because it seems we only get to use the Warrior, maybe it's the Drone.

Did you ever play the original Aliens vs Predator on PC?

Even so, dude how awesome does Aliens vs Predator look? There was also a recent article from IGN.com on the multiplayer side of things, looks like its going to be pretty intense.

Nah that's cool man, I did the Vidmasters for the sake of the challenge, the quest to beat them. And yes, you would want to do them if you are able to with a bunch of friends (save for the individual ones) who you can work together with.

In the end, who cares if its for an armour permutation, the permutation to me is just a small treat. The reward to me was the satisfaction I felt of conquering the achievements. That is my prize (and mostly because I felt like I was listening to victory themes from games I had played in the past).

No I too play the game for fun, and mainly because I am a completionist, I love to play games through to the end, get to 100% (find all the secrets and see the final ending of games or unlock whatever it is they have at the end of them etc). The only thing I could really hate about Halo either way is the ridiculous group known as MLG. They're like the gaming world's biggest dictatorship where the Battle Rifle and the Sniper Rifle are the holy weapons that they try to cast judgement down to the lower players. And its like what you said a while back "Since when did Halo become a sport?".

    • LegendaryE FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Look honestly, I'm satisfied not necessarily because of the armour permutation (and yes it does look cool), but because of the journey to it. The achievements themselves are what matter to me. Hell if I didn't win Recon armour at the end of it I don't care, I would've been happy to have just gotten myself those achievements anyway. Because they were a serious challenge to get, all 7 of them and I'm damn proud I got them all. In the end, who cares if I had won Recon armour or not, it's the journey to the prize that matters. I learned to communicate better with my teammates and be less frustrated.

I can see your concern though, it is a worry but hey, that's popularity for you.

Look, honestly, if I had to choose a Spartan Permutation it would be Recon. But that doesn't mean I'll use it often either, Iike using my Elite armour more than the Spartan.
