I knew RIP Monty Oum was trending on Twitter, but when I got on Facebook and saw that news of his passing was at the top of the list, I just broke down.

It's hard to explain to people what Rooster Teeth is sometimes. It is a major part of my life, one of the main sources of joy I find in life, but a lot of people don't even know what it is. Seeing this helps me to explain it a little better.

Rooster Teeth is a family. Each and every person at Rooster Teeth makes an impact in thousands, even millions of people's lives.

Monty Oum. You were one of the many people at Rooster Teeth who inspired me every day to be more than just a viewer. I want to have a fiery passion for what I do, and thanks to you, I will have that one day. I actually just got done switching my major. It seems little and insignificant, but the influence you and Rooster Teeth have had in my life have changed it for the good, forever. I'm sure there are countless others out there who have been changed because of Rooster Teeth.

I have never been more proud of being a part the the Rooster Teeth family, for that is what it truly is.

Monty, you may not be physically with us any longer, but your inspiration and creative influence will live on.

It's pretty easy to have a good day when you choose to. It's also pretty easy to have good day when you get out of all your classes early. smiley1.gif

Would it be completely insane of me to drive 6.5 hours one way just to see Let's Play Live? Not that I have tons of money lying around but I think I could scrap up enough to pay for the ticket and paying for gas there and back should be no problem. It would just be like going to an expensive movie theatre in a different state to see a movie by myself. smiley0.gifsmiley10.gif

    • Man I Love/Hate College.

To say the least, college has been an uphill battle for me. I went to a huge university my freshman year, dealt with some personal issues and finally decided to transfer and change my major. I transferred to a smaller university that was cheaper and way closer to home. About that time, my dad's health started taking a turn for the worse, which causes me anxiety even now. After he had open-heart surgery last April, things have calmed down a little. Now my parents are trying to move to a different state and it's proved to be more stressful than we thought. Needless to say, the whole time I've been in college, things have been pretty crazy.

On top of all that, I've never really been sure about what I should major in or what I should do when I graduate. As of now, I'm majoring in kinesiology. It's pretty interesting I guess but it just doesn't seem to cut it for me. Last week in one of my kinesiology classes, we had a physical therapist as a guest speaker. I thought she would just be yacking about how great her career is and how we should all follow in her footsteps. But what she had to say was actually exactly what I needed to hear.

Towards the end of her speech, when she was kind of wrapping it up, she said "You know, I hate it when people ask college students what they want to do when they graduate. That's not the important question. The thing they need to be asking you is 'what are you passionate about?' because that's what you're going to want to do for the rest of your life." That might not be her exact words, but I think I got pretty close. Anyway, hearing that hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm not passionate about kinesiology at all and I think I've known that for a while, but after hearing this I finally decided to acknowledge it. I was mainly staying in it for the future job security and the "guaranteed money." I know that one day, possibly sooner than I think, I'm going to have to start taking care of my parents more and more, and I wanted a job that insured I would have enough money to support them if I needed to. But I finally realized that my future career is about me, bot anyone else. If I need to start taking care of my parents one day, I'll figure it out, but until then I need to start making decisions with myself in mind.

This past weekend, I payed my parents a visit, mainly to help them with moving. One day I told my mom about the lady that spoke to us in class, and just about how I've been feeling about everything over the last several months. At some point my mom said "If you were a millionaire who just so happened to want to get a college degree, and you didn't have to worry about student loans or anything, what would you want to major in?" I said digital filmmaking, without a doubt. I was pretty scared to tell her that. I mean I knew she would support me no matter what I did, but telling her that I wanted to change my major to something completely different a year before I'm supposed to graduate was a little troubling. But I told her that, and I even told her that I would have to change schools again because my school doesn't offer film, and she said "Who cares, move somewhere else, major in film, do what you gotta do to be happy for the rest of your life."

... So yeah now I have a lot of planning to do. smiley0.gifsmiley12.gif

I went to NOLA ComicCon last year but wasn't able to do much because I didn't have the money. I'm definitely not rich now, but I'm hoping I can get at least one photo op and a t-shirt or something. I'm definitely getting a photo with Tom Felton (at least I hope, I already paid for it). I'm really excited! Maybe I'll see some fellow RT fans there. smiley0.gif

It's really fun watching all the RT/AH videos as soon as they come and kind of being "in the know" (pun intended), but it's fun getting a few weeks behind so you can binge-watch as soon as you get a few off days. smiley10.gif
