Well, I would like to give a big shout out to everyone of my friends here at Roosterteeth and RedvsBlue. I've been doing a lot of thinking these past few days and I've decided to delete my account here. It's been a great 4 years that I've been here, it's just time for me to move on and actually do something rather than spend 10 hours a day on the computer and on video games. I need to get out more and do more. I appreciate everyone here who has ever uplifted my spirits when I was down, made me laugh, or proved to be just a great person all around. You all have been great and I'm gonna miss you.

    • Finally did it

      bladegamer

Well, I finally did it, I now own all three major consoles. Yup, an XBox 360, a Playstation 3, and a Nintendo Wii. I just got the Wii and am messing around on it now...I just felt like saying I got it. I'm just excited because I work at Best buy, have been working there for over 8 months, and I was just not finally able to get a Wii. Proves how hard they still are to get. Well, off to mess with it some more.

At the moment, I am working on a number of different projects. Many of you know that I deal with making AMV's, music videos, basically anything that does video editing and that my company goes by the name of Idiotic Industries. Well now I've branched out my company even further, we're doing gaming right now. All of our projects are still works in progress but it's coming along nicely. We've got a tabletop/card game thats nearly completed that I was finally able to piece together today while I was at work and brought the idea back home with me. Our other main game is gonna be a video game, rpg style. More information on both will be posted once they near completion.

Here's the thing, we're changing our name. Idiotic Industries was fine for a while but it's just not professional at all. I want our name to stand out and get recognized as we continue to grow.

      VULCAN GAMES

That's gonna be our new name. Due to lack of picture editing software, we are unable to do a good logo.

Since mod competitions are out of the question, I'm hoping someone will help out of the goodness of their hearts. The main deal is that we want VULCAN to be in all caps, with the V larger than the other letters. We also want VULCAN to be bold with a steel mesh insert on the letters, flames spouting out from the sides.

That's our prime picture, but feel free to go crazy and do whatever you feel like, we want to see whatever ideas you can come up with.

Right now, the best I can offer anyone for this is gratification and you're name will be mentioned in any project we do.

      Thank you!

Also, if you want to try out different styles and what not, thats fine with me. Who knows, I may choose that over my initial design.

    • Paintballing

      bladegamer

Saturday could best be described as one of the best days of my life. It was the first time that I ever went paintballing and I had one hell of a good time.

Even though it stormed the second half of the day, the first half was relatively clear so we were able to get in five games, the fifth game being rained on like there was no tomorrow.

The first game, I was nervous. Like I said, it was my first time and we were playing on a speed ball course, not a good first choice for someone like me, but I managed to stay in the game longer than most of the guys on my team. I had this one guy pinned down about ten yards away from me when his teammate moved parallel to me about 15 yards next to me. I turned to fire but it was too late, he got me but only I was taken out by a shoulder graze that did end up exploding.

The second game, I was warmed up and ready to go. It was capture the flag and there was a river/creek running up and between the two bases. I traveled up through the creek, using the trees around me as a cover for when I fired. I didn't get out and I didn't hit anyone, but our team did wipe out their entire team. So we won that.

Games won to games lost so far:
      1-1

      Kill to death ratio:
      0-1

The third game is when I started getting into the game. Again, it was capture the flag but on a different kind of course, it had more dense foliage around. Me and a couple guys traveled up the left side of the field, using whatever trees we could for cover. My buddy's gun suddenly stopped firing, the tank messed up for a moment, so I ran back to him and gave him my replacement tank, being shot at as I made sure he got it on his gun before I ran off(I didn't want to leave him all alone with nothing to defend with). So I separated from my two buddies when we saw this guy about 60-75 yards away. I moved silently and got up against a V-shaped tree. Propping my gun up and taking careful aim, I fired about three shots. The first two missed, the third shot got him right in the side. That was my first kill of the day.

The fourth game was by far my best game yet. It was just a last team standing game and it was in more of a town like field than a forest field. Making everyone who used camo very easy to see. Anyways, me and this one guy kept firing at each other and ducking back behind the houses we were at. As he ducked again, I made a breakaway for a house that was closer to where he was when he wasn't looking. I peeked around the corner and saw him running to the same house so I jumped from the corner and shot him in the chest. After him, I moved up to where he was firing from and moved into the building. From the building, I saw two guys on the far end. I didn't fire immediately because they were loading their guns and I thought I would be a good sport about it. As soon as they finished and were about to move, I popped my gun out and shot one guy in the chest. i ducked behind the building before they could see me. I peeked around and saw the second one trying to figure out where I was. I raised my gun outside of the building again and fired, hitting him in the face mask. As I was about to move from my position, I got flanked by another guy. He didn't fire, but he had his gun pointed at my back and just told me to surrender. So I lifted my arms and walked off the field. My team ended up losing this game.

Games won to games lost so far:
      2-2

      Kill to death ratio:
      4-2

The fifth game was probably the hardest game. It was raining during the game and my goggles were fogged almost the entire time, at least the rain felt great. It was a single regeneration game in a junk yard scenario. I got my only kill early on and it was when I was able to move behind someone, still about ten yards out, and shoot them in the middle of the back. After that, though, I couldn't see shit. Especially after someone shot me in the face mask. So I walked off the field, wiped off the mask, and stepped back onto the field when I was ready to go(it was a single regen, remember?). I didn't kill anyone else nor did I get killed. My team ended up winning this one.

      Games won to games lost:
      3-2

      Kill to death ratio:
      5-3

So all in all, I had an awesome day. I can't wait till I get the chance to go again. My brother and a couple of his friends have been doing this for years and so I'm probably gonna be joining them now. But for right now, my body from the waist down is sore as hell so I'm gonna go lay back down.

    • This really puts things into perspective

Got This from a close friend stationed in Iraq:

This should make you think a little:

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January.
      That's just one American city,
about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't
have started this war, state the following:

      a. FDR led us into World War II.

      b. Germany never attacked us ; Japan did.
      >From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost .
an average of 112,500 per year.

      c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea
North Korea never attacked us .
      >From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost .
an average of 18,334 per year.

      d. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
      Vietnam never attacked us.

      e. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
      From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost ..
an average of 5,800 per year.

      f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
      Bosnia never attacked us .
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three
times by Sudan and did nothing.
Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

      g. In the years since terrorists attacked us ,
President Bush has liberated two countries,
      crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida,
put nuclear inspectors in Libya , Iran , and, North Korea
without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who
slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

      The Democrats are complaining
about how long the war is taking.

      But Wait

It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno
to take the Branch Davidian compound.
      That was a 51-day operation..

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons
in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the
Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his
      Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida!!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB !
      The Military morale is high!

The biased media hopes we are too ignorant
      to realize the facts

      But wait!
      There's more!

JOHN GLENN (on the Senate floor - January 26, 2004)

Some people still don't understand why military personnel
do what they do for a living. This exchange between
Senator John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum
is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive
impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one
man's explanation of why men and women in the armed
services do what they do for a living.

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what
some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
'How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?'

      Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):
'I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps.
I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions.
My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different
occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my
checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was
not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the
daily cash receipts to the bank.'

'I ask you to go with me . . as I went the other day...
to a veteran's hospital and look those men .
with their mangled bodies . in the eye, and tell THEM
      they didn't hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA
and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans
of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee...
and you look those kids in the eye and tell them
that their DADS didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in
Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends
buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch
      those waving flags.

You stand there, and you think about this nation,
and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

      What about you?'
      For those who don't remember
During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney
representing the Communist Party in the USA .

      Now he's a Senator!

If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.

It might not be a bad idea to keep this circulating.
      I AM!!!

    • Contest time

      bladegamer

Alright, I'm feeling lonely and generous at the same time, so I have come up with a contest for a chance to win mods. Anyone interested may join in, but I will only award first place and second place.

The contest is that I would like a picture made in photoshop that pertains to my name BladeGamer. Be creative and use whatever sources you would like. Multiple entries may be submitted but only one entry may win. You can't win the grand prize and first runner-up.

      The rules are simple:
      1. All pictures must fit under either the category of blades/swords or games (in some cases I will accept anime shows, it depends on the show)
      2. It must say BladeGamer in the picture somewhere.
      3. Be original
      4. Have fun with it

      Winnings:
      Grand prize: 100 mod points
      First runner-up: 25 mod points

If you want to add something to the picture but are unsure of whether it will be accepted, just ask me and I'll tell you.

If anyone is interested, they can post in my journal, send me a message, or write on my wall.

      Grading scale:
All entries will be graded based on 5 key items, each on a ten point scale(1-10, 10 being highest)
      1. How well it relates to my name
      2. Quality of pictures used
      3. How clean it looks
      4. Originality
      5. How much I like it overall

      Not one category outweighs another

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me.

    • RIP Grandma

      bladegamer

On July 28, 2007, my grandmother passed away. Out of my immediate family(my father, mother, brother, and sister) I was the only one who did not get the chance to tell her I love her for the last time.

I had gotten my tonsils taken out and was still recovering, any traveling I did resulted in immediate discomfort and nausea.

She has been in the hospital for over two weeks. She was admitted when she began having problems with her chemotherapy. My grandmother had lung cancer(not from smoking, she didn't smoke). I kept promising myself Saturday that when I get better I'll go down and see her. I wanted to be with her. If I had known Saturday was going to be her last day I would have put all discomfort aside and gone to see her with the rest of my family.

Her obituary service was August 1st, 2007. The service for my grandmother was really nice and it brought back a lot of memories to me. It's hard to imagine that she's actually gone. To know that every time I step foot into that house, she won't be there to greet me.

I know it seems kind of petty to some people, but if she knew my family was coming over, she would always fix me a pound cake. If we surprised her, she would either bake me one while I was there or pull one out of the freezer. I love my grandmother so much and she was such an important part of my life.

I know that this is gonna be really tough for my grandfather for a while. And I pray that he recovers from this quickly. Because my grandmother didn't want people to mourn her death, she wanted people to celebrate her life. She touched a great many lives in ways unimaginable. She was a sunday school teacher, a regular school teacher, a caterer, she baked wedding cakes, she made wedding dresses and regular clothes as well. She lived a great life and had many great friends. There is hardly anyone on earth that lived a life as great as she did. And I will truly miss her.

R.I.P. Grandma, You will be missed by many

Just like I posted last year, this is the beginning of Dragon Con. A four day convention that will be lasting from Friday, August 31 to Monday, September 3rd. The convention will be held in Atlanta, Georgia in the Hyatt Hotel, the Marriott, and the Hilton.

The convention consists of many awesome events and spectacles. I could not list everything thats going on so click the banner to check it out.

      DRAGON CON

Dragon Con is a convention based around fantasy, science fiction, games, comics, and anime.

This will be my third year going and my second year cosplaying. If you do go, then expect to see me looking a little something like Aburame Shino from Naruto Shippuuden.

      Vol34Shino.png

I would really like the chance to see some of yall there, even though for most of you it's too long of a drive. I will say that each year I went I was never disappointed in the outcome. The costumes that people wear will truly blow you away and never in my life have I ever had more fun than that. Either way, I'll be sure to take lots and lots of pictures.

Also, this year I will be entering myself into the Dragon Con AMV Contest. I can enter up to three times and have just finished a 4-5 hour project on quite possibly my best music video ever. I will post the video up after the convention as well as how I ranked in the contest.

      Hope to see you there!

I'm using the show Naruto again with the song Changes by 3 Doors Down. The video is centering around Gaara and Naruto because of the demons they hold inside of them.

For em there's the whole glasses problem as well.
And since my eyes are really shitty my contacts are like $200+ for EACH eye. And I would only where them for that so there isn't much point.
So I got made fun of alot for wearing glasses on characters that didn't have them

      Yeah
I'm not really skinny enough to be pretty much most anime chicks.
And I'm not tall enough to be guys
So I pretty much can't represent most characters
so I stopped trying to physically represent as much and focused more on acting like the character.

Yes - Gundam Wing, I have both parts of the box set. The first episode I saw was just after Trowa gave up to Quatre and at first I was like 'this show looks depressing for kids to be fighting' but I ended up on watching more cause nothing else was on and I really enjoyed it. I also liked Monster Rancher - did you watch that one?
I tried watching Sailor Moon in Japanese - the voices far too high pitch lol.

I tried watching InuYasha in Japanese and I think one other show - I couldn't stand it to tell you the truth lol. But I watch barely any anime, to me the best ones were those of the past like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Monster Rancher, etc.
