      Da bomb.

The job's been going well, except for the fact that I still want to get the fuck out of it. I just don't like work, and the pay off isn't enough. It was all for a bet anyway. I'll get my Wii, buy some DVDs and CDs, and I'll drop that job.

I'm suppose to be working the register, bagging clothes or getting them off the rack, but so far I haven't been trained for that so I spend about 40 minutes literally just standing around. I don't do anything, I just wait to be given some simple task. I don't have any complaints, it looks like shit goes wrong way too much and I don't want to explain all that to someone who wants a shirt I can't give them.

Finally having a cleared watchlist, something that I haven't had in over a month, I'm pretty sure.

I've been meaning to make a journal about work, but, you know, I've been at work. I'll try and hit one up this afternoon if I'm not busy watching either Akira or the Ghost in the Shell TV series. I bought Akira when I saw the cheap version for, well, cheap, and I got the first two discs of Ghost in the Shell because I was never able to watch it on TV, and it was also rather cheap.

    • I Work Now

At the Dry Cleaners down the street. My first day, and already I can't wait to stop going.

I'm not even sure what I'm suppose to do, exactly. Some times I'm taking clothes off of one rack, putting their number into a computer, organizing them on this giant rotating rack, and entering in where I put them. This makes me nervous, because I suck at keeping track of numbers.

The other thing I do is take the clothes that are fresh out of the machine that makes all the noise and scares me, and I put them on hangers, tops on one side, bottoms on the other. I like this part, because I only have to know the difference between the two, but I did run into a dress. I counted it as a top. It's got static cling like you wouldn't believe.

The third part is organizing the orders that come in singles. I just put them in alphabetic order, so that's not hard, I don't mind that part.

It's mostly the dealing with the numbers that gets me. That also puts me right next to the window, which means I might have to deal with customers, which means I might have to handle money. Neither of those are responsibilities I'd want to take on.

    • Do I Make Journals Often Enough?

      Just a thought.

Looks like I might be getting a job soon. Around four hours a day, five days a week, working for a friend's dad at some laundry place down the street. Probably not making over minimum wage, but the job sounds easy enough. No hard labor, no dishes, just simple tasks a trained rat could do.

I know many of you know my hate for jobs. However, recently a friend made a bet with me that I couldn't make enough money to purchase a Wii before a general price drop hit. I'm out to prove him wrong. What did we bet on, you might ask? If I raise the full price, he'll pay for half the system. I figure that with the first check, besides buying some Guitar Wolf CDs, and the new Tom Waits CDs, I'll take him out to eat. What's a 15 dollar pizza compared to around 130 bucks?

I've also decided to start taking showers in the morning. I've always been one to take showers before bed, but after missing one last night and having to take one in the morning, I felt a general lift in my spirits over the day.

    • Too Many Books

I read Running With Scissors a couple days ago. In the beginning I was interested, but by the end I was bored as hell. I don't think the guy was trying to get me to feel sorry for him or anything, but he didn't present the situation in a funny manner.

I'm in the middle of World War Z. Entertaining, which is all I want, and all I expect.

I picked up The Elephant Vanishes by Haruki Murakami over the weekend. I've been reading The Windup Bird Chronicles for a couple months now. I'll get into it, then I'll fall off. I'm a big fan of short stories, and I try and pick collections up whenever I can. I was surprised to find a combination of the chapters from The Windup Bird Chronicles as the first short story.

I also got Speaker for the Dead along with it. I haven't read Ender's Game in over a couple two years, but I'm looking forward to getting onto this one. Including The Windup Bird Chronicles, I think that wraps up everything I have read, am (are???) reading, or plan on reading.

    • Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah?

I saw The Fountain today. I need to go back and see it again.

In the middle of the film, this guys phone goes off with a wonderfully annoying ring, a loud beep, that gets distant, and starts over again. BEEEP. Beep. bep. bep. BEEEP. You get it. He then answers the phone.

      "Hello?"
      "Yeah?"
      "Yeah?"
      "Yeah?"
      "Yeah?"
      "Yeah?"
      "Yeah?"

That's not an exageration. I stopped counting after the sixth one. I can understand wanting to be able to get to your phone in a theater, but this is what you do. Put it on vibrate, and when it starts to go off book it to the door and talk outside. It's a minor problem for those you run by, but it's a lot better than hearing your fucking conversation for five minutes.

This guy isn't the reason I need to see the movie again, but the experience will be ten times better without him.

    • Someone is Going to Break My Book

I got 300 in the mail today. I'm a little less than half way through with it already, and I'm kicking myself for spending so much money on something so short, despite that is damn sexy looking in it's widescreen gimmick format.

It also seems to be really fucking fragile. I'm positive a whole page is just going to fall out of it. Then I'll cry like a little girl. A page will come out, or one will bend in half, or someone will spill something on it. Luckly, since it is so short, someone can read it in an afternoon under my supervision.

Today my mother told me I've got a surprise dentist appointment! If you're a reader of my journals then you know that I don't like the dentist. If you're not a frequent reader, or you just can't remember shit, you should know it's not a fear thing, just an uncomfortable thing. Inside of my mouth, I consider that personal space. Don't go poking it with sharp shit. I tell him that, yes, I do bush a lot. Yes, with vigor. No, sorry, I suck at flossing, but yes, I will take a pack of those little floss sticks. Yes, I do brush my teeth.

Everytime I go to the dentist, it's like I'm paying someone to call me a liar. It's not like the bastard's that hard to fool. The last time I went, I decided I'd scrub my teeth until my gums bleed, you know, because that's good hygene, and the guy tells me I'm showing major improvement. Doing the exact same thing I always do, except that once I went at my teeth with a jack hammer.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go brush until my gums bleed, giving them time to heal for the appointment in the morning.

And I couldn't care less. It might be because I never had any intention of buying it, but it also might be that I'm not much a launch day guy. I'm not going to be giddy about the Wii either, considering I won't have one for months after it's luanch since I got the XBOX 360. I don't know, the new consoles are out (or a couple days away) and I'm not at all giddy like I was last time. I at least kept track of the news for the 360.

For a while I was wondering if my addiction for gaming was wearing downs, something I only did on the weekends. Then I got a console again. Now that I can see a good chunck of my day is spent playing Oblivion I can see that you, the internet, were my trade off. Some of you (or maybe none) may have noticed my online time slacking. It's not because I'm out, you know, doing stuff (Not that there's too much to do, big happening this afternoon? Pizza place) it's that I'm playing games, like I use to. It was after my XBOX fried that I got really into the site. Now I'm back in business, and this crutch is now mearly a cane. Or something, I don't have a good metaphor on hand.

Yeah, I used to hit up the movies forum fairly often as well. I think there's just been a gross influx of stupidity on all levels of the forums. It's unfortunate really.

Heh...I bet you're right...there're probably tons of manufactured people on this site. I'd love to find out who...but it's probably a well guarded secret.

I imagine that a large percentage of people on this site don't portray themselves entirely truthfully. Those of us with real-life friends on the site (you and Hayato are buds, right?) have to keep it realer than most...I know if I started yakking shit about all the supermodels I sleep with, MustyMung (we live about half a mile away from each other in Chi-Town) would call me out on it ASAP.
