    • Road to 20,000!

A little over two years ago, I posted this journal when I had passed 10,000 Gamerscore. Despite my pessimism at the time, I'm now nearing the 20,000 Gamerscore milestone. At the time of writing this journal, I'm currently at 19,200, meaning I just have 800 to go! The first game I'll be playing to make a serious dent in that remaining 800 is GTA IV PC. I played GTA IV on my Xbox 360 originally, and have 505 Gamerscore in it. (I know, I know, that's not impressive.) I currently have 45 Gamerscore in GTA IV PC, so I'm hoping to get at least 400 more Gamerscore out of it. Once I complete that, I'll be messing around more in Microsoft Minesweeper and Solitaire, along with Asphalt 8: Airborne. Getting 100 more Gamerscore out of those should be fairly simple. That leaves me with about 300 Gamerscore, which will easily be filled by a few games of my massive backlog. Fallout 3, Watchdogs, CoD Ghosts, GTA V, and Final Fantasy 13 are on the top of my to-do list, as I've barely made progress in them. Running through CoD Ghosts's campaign would probably be the easiest way to get a bunch of Gamerscore quickly, but we'll have to see what I feel like doing. Of course, there's one very large obstacle: My 3DS keeps distracting me :P

    • Why am I a Rooster Teeth fan?

If only this were a simple question to answer... I guess let's start with why I got into it. I remember sitting around in class watching stuff on Google Videos, and someone suggested Red Vs, Blue. So I randomly jumped partway in and watched the episode with Caboose and Sarge in Battle/Beaver Creek. Really loved it, but didn't have all that much time during class to keep watching. A while later, I watched the first the first 60 or so episodes in one sitting before getting kinda burnt out. A few years later, I decided to give another try, and boy was I glad I did. I remember going "Holy s**t, Monty Oum from Haloid is part of this?!" After going through all 8 seasons (Season 9 hadn't started yet), I decided to watch a recommended video on YouTube, one of the early Fails of the Week! I quickly began to love watching Geoff (who I recognized as Grif) and Jack lose their shit at wacky stuff going on in the game and proceeded to start watching their new Horse series shortly after. Anyways, in one of the videos, they mentioned "AHWU" and said we should go watch it. After a while, I was like "Oh alright, I'll bite" and got to see the wonderful entertainers I'd grown accustomed to hearing in live-action. This was when I saw that these guys and Rooster Teeth were more than just your run-of-the-mill entertainers. They were a talented family that truly cared about their community. I proceeded to watch the RT Shorts and got to see and better know the other main RvB cast: Burnie, Matt, Gus, Joel, Jason, Ben, Gavin, etc. These guys were the most unique and awesome group of people I ever "met", By this point, I was watching their other productions too: Podcasts, Rage Quit, even watching Achievement Guides for games I don't have any interest in! I remember watching the company grow as Michael became full time, Gavin came back for real, Ray got hired, Ryan becoming more and more present, Barbara getting hired as community manager, Jordan getting hired to do the RTAA... too many to list. Being fully accustomed to RT by this time, I thought I knew what to expect when RvB Season 9 rolled out. Nope. The entirely CG Freelancer backstory scenes blew my expectations out of the water. I thought n+1 was As if I wasn't already dedicated to RT, you guys took a nail gun and permanently attached me. The Minecraft Let's Plays, RWBY, X-Ray and Vav, VS, Go!... all of this was icing on a beautiful cake.

So now that's off my chest, why am I a fan of Rooster Teeth? The genuine and amazing people of Rooster Teeth created an amazing family, an astonishing new world, and the best online community on the planet, and invited me into it. This is the most amazing and dedicated group I've ever seen, the sort of gem that tells you "This is why the world is great". There's nothing that even comes close to Rooster Teeth, their amazing employees, and their amazing community. Every day, they ensure I have something to smile and laugh about, and never fail to deliver. Best two words to describe them? F**king amazing.

Tonight I finally got around to thousand-pointing a game! I went back to Saints Row: The Third and got the last three achievements I was missing. I wound up having a lot more fun than I expected! Now, I know you're gonna say "But there's DLC!" I don't really care. I didn't do it for the thing that counts your total number of completed games, I did it for my own personal satisfaction. I guess this means I have to go get the last achievement in Saints Row IV now...

"I Am Become Death: Kill 1000 Aliens with any combination of Super Powers." Time to start grinding...

Hey there, it's been a while since I've written a journal here, but I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone, the staff, the community members here, for all being part of this amazing family. These have been trying and difficult times as of late, but when faced with these hardships, this community simply bands together and shows why it is simply amazing. While I'm sure things can sometimes get disheartening and discouraging (especially if you accidentally read the YouTube comments) , one quick look around this site, and the amazing things this community instantly casts away any shadow of a doubt that this is the best fanbase in the world. It's often easy to find and pick faults when there's something as huge as what we have here, but that's only because we sometimes grow accustomed and used to the overwhelming amazingness that comprises this place and its users. Whether it is half a dozen guys standing in a canyon talking, amazing music by Jeff and his daughter, a certain lad from Britain exploding, or colorful girls fighting giant monsters, everyone here makes them more than what they are by themselves. For all of that, and for all that we'll share in the future, thank you.

Thanks, my avatar is a combination of the Metroid logo and the Achievement Hunter logo! Sean helped out with it.
