    • For dinner tonight I ate fish

      byrneda

Just thought I'd share, as I do care.
And after posting this rather intriguing brain dump:
      [link=http://rvb.roosterteeth.com/members/images/image.php?id=2674438#c9979233]
      I reckon I might get a hit or two (too?) To-whit To-who..
      reminds me of this guy:
      [link=http://rvb.roosterteeth.com/members/images/image.php?id=2649514#c9979226]
Except I think he's having 2nd thoughts about attempting to eat my fish.
      ;o)

    • A song for the new year

      byrneda

I've been North and I've been South
      I've been East and West
I've been just a rolling stone
Yet there's one place on this earth
      I've always liked the best
Just a little town I call my own

      For Dublin can be heaven
      With coffee at eleven
And a stroll in Stephen's Green
      There's no need to hurry
      There's no need to worry
      You're a king and the lady's a queen
      Grafton Street's a wonderland
      There's magic in the air
There's diamonds in the lady's eyes
      And gold-dust in her hair
And if you don't believe me
      Come and meet me there
In Dublin on a sunny Summer morning

I've been here and I've been there
      I've sought the rainbow's end
But no crock of gold I've found
Now I know that come what will
      Whatever fate may send
Here my roots are deep in friendly ground

      For Dublin can be heaven
      With coffee at eleven
And a stroll in Stephen's green
      There's no need to hurry
      There's no need to worry
You're the king and the lady's a queen
      Grafton Street's a wonderland
      There's magic in the air
There's diamonds in the lady's eyes
      And gold-dust in her hair
And if you don't believe me
      Come and meet me there
In Dublin on a sunny Summer morning
And if you don't believe me
      Come and meet me there
In Dublin on a sunny Summer morning

This song was made famous by Irish actor Noel Purcell. This here version is as sung by Paddy Reilly. It's also known as "Dublin Can Be Heaven".

    • Thank you Burnie

      byrneda

I just got an award from Burnie!!
      How the ...?
What did I do? I wasn't looking for it, and I totally did not expect it, but wow.
Hey Burnie, thank you for the award mate - can I ask what it was that I did that deserved it (not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth - especially those weird teeth - anyone else think that horse's teeth just look ... "different"?)
      :o)

    • Looking for love...

      byrneda

I sound like that Leisure Suit Larry bloke, although, here's a tongue twister for ye's:
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards. Upon booting up the game, if you said you were 99, it would reply "no you're not" and promptly boot you out of the game. What if I was 99, couldn't I sue Sierra? Now that would be one for Al Lowe to back out of. :o)
      Why?
      Looking for Love?
I'm looking at all my friends (never thought I'd be the one to say this) and they're happily together (some have kids, others have dogs - which is another interesting conversation which will be pummelled at a later date). And I'm here wondering if I will be with someone who will truly work out for me.
Thing is, I know what the story is, but at the moment, hell, if you're looking for a laugh, here's my "other" profile online:
      [link=http://www.plentyoffish.com/member5796135.htm]
Actually, please do check it out - any help to sharpen up my profile would be greatly appreciated (plus, the pics are cool too).
And hey, if anyone is looking for someone like me for Xmas and beyond (remember, a bf is for more than just Xmas and New Year's Eve), drop me a line and lets have a laugh.
((Honestly, this wasn't the idea when starting this journal, but hey, I'm good for a laugh - even if it is at my expense))
Have a great day y'all - and to those who celebrate it, Happy Thanksgiving!!!

    • 1 week to go

      byrneda

Ahh.. the blisssnesss that is awaiting the "holiday" (or to be honest, the breakaway from here and into something more comfortable - namely flip flops and PJ's and a whole lot of game playing!!).
Can't wait to get into Bioshock on the 360, then there are a few games on the PC I can't remember. Then there's Moto GP '07 coming out at the end of this week too!!
Oh and Halo 3 whenever.. hehehe

    • Where did the weekend go?

      byrneda

      Prologue:
Ahh, brilliant, the weekend is nearly upon us again.
I'm not going to plan anything, I'm just going to let it happen

[cue flashes of logic with interesting images of lust and desire]

      Epilogue:
      It's Sunday night.
      12:30am.
I'm up for work in 7 hours.
      Where'd the weekend go?

    • The Sun!! The Sun!!

      byrneda

Yes, there is now a bountiful supply of blue sky about today - it is more awesome. Unless you're living in another part of Europe and/or America, you might not be aware about the woeful summer we've been having here in Ireland. :o(
But alas, just as we were thinking that the summer was a real bum deal this year, out pops the sun yesterday (and today) and it makes it all worthwhile.
Although, I don't think it's worth walking around in motorbike boots in our glorious capital city with a motorbike jacket (with winter liner) and a rucksack. One word: Blisters. Seems as if my heels and that rough part behind the toes are the worst affected.
Driving was fun today (in the cage, I mean the car). Just amazed that I got in in 20 mins in heavy traffic on our most glorious invention (cue heavy sarcasm) the moving carpark called the M50.
Anyways, as long as my motorbike gets working again soon (read: before the weekend), I'll be happy not to dole out some vicious hateful act on this poor defenseles doe. (And no, no "spider-pigs" allowed).

2.. wait, I can see in my crystal ball that this will be 3 updates in less time than it takes to eat a McDonalds Cheeseburger (as I find that the cheese tends to stick on the roof of my mouth - anyone else find this).
Musht be something to do with writing at midnight - might try it in future - as I'm buzzing here.. not like the fly, no, ugh, having to cough up some acid stuff to melt your food and then suck it all back in again, yuck - getting the heebie jeebies just thinking about it.
Anyways, talk to ye's soon - here's me bouncing out stage left... splat!
Ok, someone bricked that one up - stage right instead....

Ok. Now that the punctuation generator is back online, relax one and all and be calm in the knowledge that you might be able to understand me better.
To paraphrase a rather famous tv person (whose name escapes me but who was on Father Ted once):
      "I don't believe it!!"
7 darn months since I updated a journal on here - now I know that once a month is bad enough, but for flag's sake, where have I been?
Playing games, buying a motorbike, splitting up with the girlfriend, watching p0rn, as well as the usual excretions one must do on a daily (if not weekly) basis, which also includes sleeping and eating (I must add - lest you think I look like that guy from the film The Machinist).
Speaking of which, did you know that Christian Bale fed himself on only tuna to get the totally emaciated look!? Man, I wonder how long it took him to do that.. and how long it took him to get back to his normal self - dang, imagine him trying to put on the batman suit like that, he'd slip thru the neck part and fly out one of the trouser legs!

I only got to play Fallout a bit at E3 this year, but I decided not to get it 'cause of all the other games I wanted. Fable II is really turning out to be a favorite. I'm still playing despite beating the main story and acquiring all three endings.

I would play more Gears if my LIVE friends wanted to. I beat the campaign mode with Fenix on normal mode. Mirror's Edge proved taxing but I got that done as well. Also plan to go back and mess around with stuff I didn't get to the first run through (got the Leap of Faith achievement, sure was taxing).

Recently been playing Wrath of the Lich King. Funny though, that stupid leveling/grinding sure isn't as fun anymore when there's so many great games on Xbox/Steam. L4D should be on its way from Amazon :D

I'm okay. I finished Fable 2 shortly before Gears of War 2 was released so now I'm on Gears >:D Still need to do more stuff in Fable 'cause that was a great game. So much extra content.. kinda sad the main story was so short though.

What about you? I see you've got Fable on your Gamertag, and Fallout 3. How you likin' Fallout?

Oh my god. XD That's awesome. In fact, it sounds like something me and my friends would do. Once we stole a Christmas bear off a random person in town's yard...come to find out it was actually my friend's aunt's house, and we just didn't notice because it was dark.

And a slice of cucumber came out your nose? Holy hell!

First, I want to express my joy and surprise that you read all of that!
Second, I wanted to thank you for the thought-provoking comment.
Perhaps our role in life is to seek out stranded people on their islands, and teach them to live in the now. Some days, I'm as guilty as sin of living too much in the past. But then I realize the potential of NOW, my ability to forge history, to steer my life.
Just today I caught myself concentrating too much on the road I was driving on, and not enough on where I was going. I looked up and saw the trees changing color all around me and above me and I was stunned! How many people who live here, around this beauty, take time to really take it all in?

"Remember the past, live in the present, and do not fear the future, for it does not exist and never shall."

Don't remember where I heard that...

      Thanks again.
