I've looked through the forums, only to find the Shadowrun topic itself is pretty dead, so I thought I would try a new topic altogether. Would anyone be interested in doing a Shadowrun PbP, as in the title? If so, would it be as a GM or player? Hopefully, enough people show interest to get a game together.

I apologize for not updating anything for a while. Just been really lazy. On the bright side, I do have a link for any one still interested in reading my story. It's worth the two second download, considering it has a good twelve to thirteen more pages added on to where I left of, which if I remember correctly, was page 63.
      www.mediafire.com/file/zzoz4qglmyt/Invasion.pdf

Anyway, sorry again for not updating. If you do download it, be sure to leave a comment, or better yet, read it first then leave a comment and or criticism. Feel free to yell at me for not updating.

So I said I would update, and here it is, please enjoy.

      ENSIGN
Looks to be within the hour, ma'am.

Wright is silent as she considers her course of action. She is tall, long black hair hanging freely, 30 years old, 29 according to her, relatively attractive, and wearing a pure white admirals uniform, medals hanging from her chest.

      ENSIGN
Ma'am, what's our course of action?

      WRIGHT
Put the fleet on alert, recall anyone on shore leave.

      ENSIGN
      Yes, ma'am.

INT. ODIN DEFENSE STATION, SHUTTLE BAY.

Samantha and Tobias are still in the shuttle bay when the loudspeakers come to life.

      LOUD SPEAKER
Attention all hands, the Odin Defense Fleet is hereby put on alert. Unidentified warp anomaly is incoming. As such, shore leave passes are hereby revoked until further notice. All hands to stations.

      TOBIAS
Don't that suck a nut. Well, let's go.

      SAMANTHA
Damn. I could've used a drink. All right.

INT. BRIDGE, ODIN DEFENSE STATION 45 minutes later

Back aboard the bridge, Wright is staring out into space. Soon, another rip in space appears. Out from warp come two ships, both carrying slight burns.

      WRIGHT
      Two ships. Contact them immediately.

      ENSIGN
      Yes, ma'am.

The ensign presses buttons on his console.

      ENSIGN
      Communications channel opened, ma'am.

      WRIGHT
Thank you, ensign. Attention unidentified vessels, you are trespassing on U.R space, identify yourselves immediately or be destroyed.

From speakers on the bridge, Brook's voice is heard.

      BROOK
This is Captain Dylan Brook, commanding what's left of the Acrylla exploration fleet.

      WRIGHT
Brook. It's been a while. Now what do you mean by "what's left"?

      BROOK
      Elizabeth? Is that you?

      WRIGHT
Admiral Wright to you. Now answer the question.

      BROOK
      Not over an open channel.

      WRIGHT
      Why not?

      BROOK
You'll know soon enough. Do we have permission to dock or not, Elizabeth?

      WRIGHT
Fine, dock at bay 4 and 5. And I said it was Admiral Wright to you. Ensign, close the channel and take us off alert.

      ENSIGN
      Aye ma'am.

The ensign presses some more buttons.

      ENSIGN
Attention all hands, the Odin Defense Fleet is hereby taken off alert status. Warp anomaly has been identified as U.R ships Harridan and Tyrant's Ascension. Docking bay 4 and 5, prepare for incoming.

On the lower decks, Samantha and Tobias walking towards their ship as the loudspeakers broadcast.

      TOBIAS
Oh come on! Made me get up for nothing. Well, at least the shuttle will have arrived by the time we get back there.

      SAMANTHA
Forget the shuttle, weren't you listening? The Harridan, that's Jakey's ship. He's on his way here.

      TOBIAS
Hey, you're right. We gotta get down to the docking bays. Which one was it?

      SAMANTHA
      4 or 5.

      TOBIAS
Okay, you go down to bay 4, I'll go to 5. One will call the other when we see 'im.

      SAMANTHA
      All right. Let's go, quick.

Man, it's friday, already huh? I hope you'll all forgive me for not updating at all this past week. I've been laid up in bed all week. I was really sick. Frickin' horrible. I swear, I only get sick every few months, but when I do, it's like the world is coming to an end. Anyway, I'm feeling near hundred percent now, so please anticipate an update to the Invasion today, and then the zombie story tomorrow. It seems I'll have to compile a weeks worth of updates into one. Joy.

Yay, update. This is the first update today. Expect another update tonight. As always, enjoy and comment.

      GUNNER
      Yes, sir, firing now.

The broadside cannons fired, slamming against the alien shields, causing no real damage.

      GUNNER
Broadside has caused no damage, Captain.

      BROOK
Surprise, surprise. Grey, get us the hell out of here before those bastards kill us.

      GREY
Aye aye sir. Full speed ahead.

The engines on both ships roared as they were pushed to their limit.

      GREY
Captain, both ships are full ahead, approaching warp speed within thirty seconds.

      BROOK
      Good. And the alien vessels?

      RADARMAN
They look to be turning around, Captain. Most likely trying to fire at us again.

      BROOK
      How soon?

      RADARMAN
Captain, looks to be twenty seconds before we're in their line of sight.

      BROOK
      Grey, how much longer?

      GREY
      Fifteen seconds, sir.

      BROOK
Can't we go any faster, goddamnit?!

      GREY
Of course, sir, let me just pull another engine out of my bleedin' arse! We're already at full, approaching warp, she can't give us any more than this.

      RADARMAN
Alien vessels have us in sight, Captain! They're firing their weapons!

      BROOK
      Grey!

      GREY
      Going to Warp!

Suddenly, an entrance into warp space rips open in front of the two human ships. As soon as they entered, the rip closed. Seconds later, beams of destructive energy pierced through empty space.

      BROOK
Ahh, jesus fucking christ. That was close. Looks like the old bitch saved our asses again. Grey, what's our ETA?

      GREY
We'll arrive at the Odin Defense Station in thirty hours. Should I inform Capt. Price of our ETA?

      BROOK
Yes. Inform the rest of the ship as well. If you need me, I'll be in my quarters. I need a drink.

      Brook walks off the bridge.

Ext. Odin defense station, Thor system, 29 hours later

Above the planet Muninn, hovers a large station. Armed to the teeth with missiles, point defense flak guns, two full complements of broadsides, and one larger than average Mag-Cannon, the Odin Defense Station was a sight to behold, and a formidable foe. Commanding this beast is Admiral Elizabeth Wright. Around it, ships of various sizes formed a defense fleet. Constantly patrolling, the planet was well defended.

Docked to the station itself is one more ship, the Mjolnir, a carrier-class cruiser, filled to the brim with fighters and bombers. Serving aboard this ship are Samantha and Tobias, Kingsley's best friends. The ship is currently off-duty, allowing the crew and captain to relax while they wait for shuttles to take them down to the planet for shore leave.

Int. Odin Defense Station, shuttle bay.

Sitting inside the shuttle bay awaiting transport are Samantha and Tobias.

      TOBIAS
Man, talk about a week. I am exhausted.

      SAMANTHA
What!? You're the pilot, for goodness sake. How did you get so tired? What, had to scratch your ass too much?

      TOBIAS
Ha ha ha. For your information, little missy, ship pilots don't get to sleep often. Unlike our cousins, the fighter pilots, who get to sleep every night, all night.

      SAMANTHA
Well, a girl needs her beauty sleep.

      TOBIAS
Beauty sleep, huh? I think you need more then, cause it doesn't seem to be working.

      SAMANTHA
Yeah? Well. . . uh. . . damn. That was a good one.

      TOBIAS
Ha ha. Chock up another one for me. What's the score now. . . hmm. . . carry the one, multiply by 3. . . oh yeah. It's 58 for me, 10 for you.

      SAMANTHA
All right, just shut up. Shuttle should be here soon.

The pair continue to chat while they wait. Meanwhile, aboard the bridge, though, something odd has been detected

      INT. BRIDGE, ODIN DEFENSE STATION

On the bridge, one of the ensigns has detected something on the scanner.

      Ensign
Admiral, ma'am, scanners are showing an incoming warp space anomaly.

      Wright
Is anything scheduled for arrival today?

      ENSIGN
No ma'am, nothing till next week.

      WRIGHT
      Time till arrival?

Yay, that was the update. Like I said earlier, expect another tonight. Also, if you'd like the entire thing so far, which includes all the changes I've made since I started, here's a link: www.mediafire.com/file/y1yyzmzj1tn/Invasion.pdf

      Or it didn't happen?

I think you did. Still, I don't think it's possible to overuse it in this situation...

    • Dockman

Yes, people are indeed very stupid. Not to mention irritating and loud.

    • Dockman

I agree. I would've preferred that it be longer, but even as it is, I've gone well beyond the word limit... stupid rules.

And, yeah, most people never hear the dissenting voices and evidence showing the other side of the picture.

    • Dockman

Nope. My teacher disagrees with me. She thinks that humans are causing global warming. I disagree. So, yeah...

    • Dockman

My topic was the truth about climate change. So, basically, it was a topic that made my teacher hate me... but, hey, it's supposed to be a persuasive research paper, and how can I be persuasive if everybody already agrees with me?

Agreed. Grudges are a good thing to hold.

    • Dockman

Agreed... when things work out like that... it's much better when they're over.

    • Dockman

Yep, this kind of things sucks... a lot.

But, at least my professor is reasonable. I went and talked to him, explained what happened. I said, "I'm really sorry about this, but I don't really think I'm at fault here. I showed my code to a friend so that he could hopefully find out where the bug was in his program. I never thought that he would write such a similar code."

His response, "Well... that was kind of stupid, wasn't it? Tell you what, I'll let you earn the points back, and this can all go away. Just be more careful."

Problem solved. And here I used to think he was the worst professor I had. Definitely wrong about that.

Really? I had no idea that Modern Warfare 2 was so close... Either way, I've never been a huge fan of Call of Duty... I prefer my games with large helpings of either Science Fiction or Fantasy... or both.

Also, because I go to a nerd school, I've been hearing an unbelievable amount of complaining about how Activision has disallowed dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2... I have no idea what it means (although, from what I hear, it only affects PC gamers), but almost everybody here cancelled their pre-orders...

Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thou foe...

I'm going to assume you're talking about Windows 7... so:

Because I am currently enrolled in a computer science course, and our computer science department has a deal with Microsoft, I get access to MSDN software (which stands for something that I don't know). Basically, it lets me download a bunch of different Microsoft products for free, because I'm a student.

Most of them are aimed at software developers, though, so windows 7 is the only thing of interest to me.
I write programs too, but I program in Fortran, and Microsoft doesn't have any development tools for the Fortran language...

Man, I dont care if your a atheist, im not particularly religious myself, but your lettin it devoure your personality, hell whens the last time you were yourself instead of classifying yourself into a belief system, even if its atheism. I think you need to chill down, because I dont have anything against atheist, but I do have something against assholes. I sincerely believe that if there is no god (IDK if it exists) that dicks enacted these crimes out of anger, and you may pass off what you do as a joke, but from a nuetral point of view, your just bieng spiteful.

Peace, and I hope you understood my point instead of just labeling me an idiot so you can insult me like alot of people do.
