You know this new site you got? Have you even tried to use it? I'm thinking no, and here's why:

You know that navigation bar at the top? You know, the one that follows you down the page? Well, it turns out, it takes away a whole bunch of space at the top of the screen always. You know those anchor tags that link to parts of the page? Makes those not so useful since a chunk of the content you are sending your users to is now hidden by this bar. And those of us using small screens? I guess you just don't want us to view the content on your site, eh?

Really - this isn't an OMGCHANGE reaction. The only link that is really useful in that navigation bar is the one back to my homepage (so I can get back to my watchlist). I don't generally want to go to most of the places you are linking to EVERY TIME I VISIT A NEW PAGE. Why are you wasting my time shoving those links into my face all the time then? I guess I should be happy though, right? I mean, it's not an ad...

I'm not even going to get into the nice gap between the bar and the menu that opens up. Nor the fact that it's pretty much an eyesore and draws attention away from the content (strong contrast with the page colors). Nor the fact that if I just move my mouse up to the browser chrome that it leaves a nice menu open on the screen unless I'm careful where I move my mouse (hint: use a timeout).

But I get it - you don't want me to look at the content on the site. That's cool.

The amount of ads that are starting to show up on this site makes me want to get Adblock Plus. That goes against my policy of not using addons that most of Firefox's users don't use though, so that leaves me with "not coming here so often." Sorry y'all.

I never use effect and affect because I can never recall which to use in a given situation. I start to type it, then delete it, and refactor the sentence to use another word somehow.

Have to do work sooner than I thought.

On second glance, it doesn't look like the old-style notifications are being removed until 4.0 still.

Doorhanger notifications are coming in, but nothing's necessarily going out in 3.7.

      This pleases my lazy side.

      Hey...Does Firefox have a 64-bit version planned?

I'd love to have one on my x64 Win 7 build.

      Thanks smile.png

I can build the server in whatever case you like, but it would probably cost more. I found a very cute Mini ITX home server case a while back. I'll throw together a parts list for it, and give you a quote.

      Shawn, some RTSE questions:

What do I need to change in the branch/release/trunk build scripts for when I run the branch command on trunk? Because I'm pretty close to being done with adding/fixing things for now.

Also, would you be able to add a "1.2" version number in Bugzilla? I don't have permissions to do that myself.

Finally, when I run the branch command, do the build scripts run automatically for that like the trunk one does?

You can't file a complaint unless you ask them to not call you. With that said, you can add your phone to the national do not call list...

I'm on the do not call list.

And most of it won't even bother you if you're on a Mac.

Actually, all of the buttons are replaced by text on the Mac skin, aren't they?

So the "branch" and "tag" folders are just static copies of the trunk at various points?

    • KWierso AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Hey. I'm just curious. In RTSE's SVN repository, if one were to copy /trunk/ over to a new folder in either /branch/ or /tags/, would anything happen automatically?

Would any of the build scripts need to be adjusted due to some change since 1.0?

    • Strider165

So all other issues should be ignored, even if lives are at stake?
