Nope, you're fine, I think your ID will be enough.

Press pass is confirmed! When you get to the city you go to the press registration area and show your idea and say who you work for. Should be all set. :)

I'll check in with Kyle in like a week and see if we were approved.

I realized if we changed your name on there, it would be almost impossible to change it back. So I went back to your apple piece and wrote 'written by Robert Nash' on it then archived it. Then I faxed that over. Let's hope it works!

    • ChipperHalf

Yeup. Also message me your full name. If it doesn't work I might say at the top 'Written by Robert ..." and hope that works.

Not yet. If you do a new one it might. Or you can copy one you already have, post it again, and I can quickly publish and archive it to see if the name changes

Awesome, choose whatever you like and I'll use it to print out. If for some reason the display doesn't change, I'll ask our manager how it happens.

    • ChipperHalf

It's not showing up so whenever your next article is I can print it out hopefully with your name. It might be possible for you to publish an article you've already written again. Then I can publish it, print it, and immediately archive it.

    • ChipperHalf

Nah they'd need a business card from US and that's the problem. See if changing your settings to your first and last name makes any difference. I don't know if it will immediately change your articles so I may have to wait til your next article to send to him ... try it and we'll see!

    • ChipperHalf

I have been talking to the press guy. He says that he thinks you should be good to go without a business card; I'm going to send him a print out of some of your articles which might be a problem just because it doesn't say your name as the title. I'll see if I can get that fixed so it says your name; did you put anything on your registration that said you didn't want to use your real name?

In my opinion, Voyager was the best series out of all of them. More of a plot, you know? And yes, Janeway is an excellent badass.

      Try nowhere near close?

Its not even around the size of Otakon which is the third biggest anime con in the US.
NYCC is only in their third year and last year they were hardly prepared for the "crowd" that they had... x.x
      It was pretty sad.

SDCC is about ten times the size and scope of NYCC if you can imagine that.
And no, I am not kidding.

I'd just take a bus if you're coming from Boston, dude. Only 4-5 hours and goes straight to port authority! All the airports in NYC are out of the city and costs like 50 bucks to get into it from a taxi.

I won't really be able to hang out much at the comic con because I'll have so much to do myself, but if you want you can crash with me for a few days and we can meet up after. I'm fairly sure Kroze is still going and I always try to get Cora to go. Let me look into getting you a press pass so you can come on behalf of us.

What people don't realize is that the age was a big thing for me too. Once, I thought that 23 was too old. I didn't tell Mike how I felt about him. I even thought of taking Paxil, which is a anti-depressant with a bad reputation. I was unhappy that he wasn't at least five years younger. Or that I even had feelings for him period. It was making me sick, literately. I stopped eating as much, I was doing poorly in school, I was crumbling by stress. Eventually I became accepting of who he was, and how old he is. I knew him then, better than I probably know my parents now. It was the same thing with him. Except he was fretting that I was younger. We simply got over it. In the long run, it's if you enjoy being with a person. Not if the person you enjoy is acceptable to other people.

The whole experience changed my whole perception of how life is and how it works. Intellectually, we're not uneven. Although, it's stereotyped that way. The young and old separated by splits in knowledge and experience. Younger people are still learning some of the things that older people have already learned. And older people usually recede into the background of society because they've stop learning due to the belief that they've learned enough. (Depending on who you talk to.) I think it's just a stupid mess.

There's nothing wrong with not knowing something. It's when a person has no curiosity or a need to learn... that's when things get a bit stupid. Funny enough, that's how most high school kids are now days. Even younger people are separated by knowledge. If I dated a 20 year old, he would have been ahead of me in college. It's just how much knowledge separates people. That is what people are concerned about. This arrogance from most older people, became more extreme by public schools. We have public schools that are meant to give people common ground. They know the same crappy facts that everyone else does. I disagree with it. I celebrate when people know something I don't know. That's the way it's supposed to be. Otherwise we're just acting like controlled robots. We're supposed to continually learn from other people. And it's easier to go at your own pace, than by someone else. That's just how it naturally is.

People go from preschool to kindergarten, through grade school, to high school, and then they're shoved into college and then they get a job. Most adults claim that they don't read many books because they haven't the time. Heck, most adults haven't read since they were forced to in high school. Who learns more? The person that has to repeat the same thing to herself to remember, or the person that's excited by a tidbit of fact?

I once met a man that was thirty-eight years old. He thought I had no excuse for being stressed over learning so much information, "It's easy!" And he went on how you can know everything about history. When I was talking to him about how I'm engaged before, I wondered if I should have told him Mike's age. Well, just because it was humorous that he was acting as an authority and claiming how old he is. To me though, he was just a prick. There's no reason why someone should act superior to someone else.

Gah, I'm just rambling. Hope you get some sort of point out of that. smiley6.gif (My original point was different, I edited this too much.)

If they were concerned for my safety, they would have asked more questions about Mike, instead of calling me and him immature among other things. It was a shock, sure. Or maybe just an excuse for people to turn their backs to me. People were overly concerned that I was with that guy. Would it have been easier to accept, if I went out with a 20 year old? Of course it would. Ageism prevails when it comes to Mike and me.

I've been insulted too much on something that is absolutely wonderful. Mike has been standing by, listening to what's been said about us, and it hurts him. Not because he's been insulted, he doesn't really care about that. It's that perfectly nice people are suddenly putting me through shit for no reason. We're closer to each other than either of us has been to anyone. But you know, somehow people think that we shouldn't be allowed to love each other.

be careful. You and I are still young; taking huge leaps like this is not something to be done arbitrarily.

It wasn't really a leap at all, in my opinion. It was a walkway. Being young had nothing to do with it, nor being old. It was just there. I've been living with Mike for over a month now. I know who he is. My feelings for him is stronger than when we first realized that we were in love. He's just my guy, that's all there is to it.

I need to get new internet friends. But I'm too lazy to do it. The obvious, is because people overreacted to my love life. (As to why I need new internet friends I mean.) But I've also noticed that most folks are just never online anymore. smiley1.gif

      1. I'll respond with something random about you.
You are remarkably self-possessed for someone your age. (That's a compliment)
      2. I'll tell you which song or movie you remind me of.
Hmmm. That's a hard one. I'm going to go with TV show instead =P and that's Lost!
      3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle you in.
      Peach. Don't ask.
      4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me, if possible.
      BATMAN WILL RISE AGAIN!
      5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
My first REAL memory is of meeting you in Boston. In Harvard Square!
      6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
Oooo. Something nice and smart. A koala.
      7. I'll ask you something I've always wondered about you.
      Why Contractor?
      8. I'll tell you my favorite thing about you.
You love Lost and Batman as much as I do.
      9. I'll tell you my least favorite thing about you.
Now I wish you'd gone to a NYC school instead of Harvard!
