Getting old. Not active on here at all anymore. But I still watch RvB and came online to buy the newest DVD, so I thought I'd say "hi" and give all my zero followers an update.

I am no longer a lonely depressed drunk starving for companionship.

In October of 2012 I got married.

In December of 2012 I adopted my daughter.

In September of 2013 my son was born.

Now we're looking for a bigger house.

In March 2013 and December 2014 I had unique opportunities to take my family to Walt Disney World. I grew up on the Disney kool-aid, and now that I have a family I've become a little bit of a Disney nerd. My kids aren't ready for gaming yet, when that happens and they're older I'll introduce them to RT.

Life is good. Happy and healthy. Thanks for getting me through the rough times RT community.

    • Happy Anniversary RT!!

      Thank you.

      'Nuff said.

      Apparently I suddenly got popular.

I wasn't expecting to be on the FU bar anymore. As important as the RT community was and is to me (well, let's face it, the content kept me going there for a while), I never have an opportunity to get on here anymore. And I know I've posted and whined about it before, but as RT gets more popular, it feels less and less like I'm a part of it. No one to blame but myself, let's not get into that now.

Anyways, I got a bunch of friend requests lately. Didn't expect so many high schoolers to be interested in a 35 year old fat man, but hey, I'm an open guy. I always felt like the community was too big and I was an outsider, so if someone needs another add or a new perspective, who am I to say no?

Just wish I was more interesting.

I hope Burnie and the rest of the guys are O.K. I hope Finchy is still on here and being awesome.

Oh, small side-note: I procreated. I'm the proud father now to a 2-month baby boy.

RvB might have been one of the first things we watched . . .

      *sigh*

    • bi-yearly now?

      cpribilski

      Ah . . . er . . . it's been a while.

      Guess what.

      I'm married.

I proposed in March, and spent the rest of the year getting fatter, spending imaginary money, and starting family life. Got married on October, the 5th to be exact.

Got my first ink. I'll try to include a pic or two when I get a chance.

RT has been f*ing up my sponsorship for over a year now. They were double-charging me for a while, twice actually, and while in the past the crew took care of the problem when I brought it to their attention, I was ignored over the past year. Tried 3 different email address, two of which got responses in the past.

      Kinda bummed me out.

I got a new card in May, and my subscription didn't cancel in July like it should have, so I thought maybe the RT fairy took care of the double-charge that way. Dunno.

Anyway, my previous sponsorship and the double-charge failed at the most recent renewal because of the new card. I let them continue to fail, and started a new one. Hopefully that will take care of everything.

Still, as happy as I am to see the company growing and evolving, and as much as I know that's all a
GOOD thing, a natural thing, a sign of growth and prosperity, it just doesn't feel like MY RT anymore.

I've never been big on the social screen on here, mostly because I'm not an avid 360 gamer. I've been drawn since season 3 to the RVB series. The sense of humor is the same as my own, and I felt like I'd finally found a group of kindred spirits I don't have here in Cleveland.

As the series and company has grown, I've felt less a part of it. Not gonna lie, it makes me sad.

Season 10 was the first time I got the DVD from somewhere other than RT. It was the first season since I started during season 3 that I didn't regularly watch every Monday (though that was due to wedding prep). This year I stopped listening to the podcast too when Geoff, Joel, Burnie, and Matt started appearing less (A friend tells me they show up more regularly now). Griffon left the company, which I know is a good thing, it's allowed her to develop new things I'm sure and grow as an artist, but that meant the end of the RT Comics, a site feature that kept me coming back weekly when there were no new videos.

I don't know, I'm sorry for the venting. It's weird, I'm so damn happy at the success the guys are having, just bummed out that I don't feel like I'm a part of things anymore. Then again, I've been a consumer, not a contributor.

Congrats RT. I will always support this site, it's community, and it's content. I have a deep love for it.

Maybe it's me. Maybe getting married, having a family, having less time for ME stuff is the cause. If that's the case, I hope RT is here with open arms, waiting to take me back.

      I reach-around wouldn't hurt either.

    • I dunno . . .

      cpribilski

Well, I haven't been on in a while. Many reasons. I was gonna write about them, but then I thought, "how many sad-sack journals you gonna write?"

      Guess I can't shake that 90s-melancholy attitude, even in my 30s . . .

So, I figure I should just suck it up. You know, get back to being semi-humorous. I know all you zero watchers out there are clamorin' for more of this Polllack's writings.

Sorry for channeling my father there. He's not even dead yet.

But I digress. Long story short, I've finally met a woman I don't want to strangle. Been together for a year now. Lookin' like she may be the one. In terms of interests, we have nothing in common, which is kinda weird, but we seem to be really compatible. Probably won't be long before I pop the question. I don't know what it is about her, but she seems to be the perfect amount of crazy for me.

Still managin' the movie theatre. Still like my job for the most part, though the past few months have been rough. Doin' well though, and the bosses are happy and good to me.

By the end of the month, will be completely debt free. No college loans, no car payments, no credit card debt. AWESOME.

Finished the main story and most of the side quests in Arkham City. For as much complainin' as I do about not having time for anything, I seem to have found time to fit that in. Great game, having fun with it, but getting to the point in the game when I'm gonna have to do all the hard stuff I've been putting off. Wish I was more competitive, I'll probably just put the game down. Haven't even touched the challenges yet.

      I miss Batman:TAS.

Movies lately have sucked. Nothing in the past few months has peaked my interest enough to see on my day off. My girlfriend's 4-year-old, Anna, is the only reason I go anymore, so I'll probably see Beauty & the Beast in 3D. Out of nostalgia I'm sure I'll be going to see Star Wars Episode I in 3D, even though I EXTREMELY disliked Episodes I-III. Haven't gotten to see Tin-Tin yet; I'm an Edgar Wright fan, what can I say.

The 1st half of the year always sucks for movies. If a studio puts a movie out in January other than an Oscar contender, they have no confidence in it. Same with September.

What else? I've stalled on my Dr. Who "goal." Decided to start with the first Doctor, William Hartnell. Making for a rough ride, but I've found the charm in the good Doctor's beginnings.

      Um, chocolate lab puppies suck.

Have to get my old man to help me install some ceiling fans in some bedrooms, then I can re-insulate attic.

What happened to my drunken-party days?

Well, not really. I just hate how I never journal anymore. Yeah, sure it's just for myself, but still, it's a good outlet.

Then again, LOTS has been going on.

-My planned trip for San Diego comic-con fell through. Have a wedding in Minnesota the same month, can't get that much time off of work. Now the chaos that was trying to get Con tickets seems like a blessing.

-A trip to the doctor for what I thought was an ear infection after a cold (turns out it was) resulted in him being nervous about my high blood pressure. I now have 3 months to lose 25 pounds (well, I had six, but I've been pretty busy).

As a side-note, turns out the antibiotics he gave me, Amoxicillian, I'm allergic to. Broke out in a rash that made me feel like I had chicken pox again. Then it was time for new antibiotics AND steroids.

-Was sucked into a blind date, and it actually paid off in a big way. Haven't felt like this with anyone since '96 - an actually connection, not just a session in horniness or a complete psycho. Been three months now, moving kinda fast, but we're both really into each other. She has a 3-year-old, which is the first time I've dated anyone with kids, and so far I'm loving it. Sweet little girl. Love them both to pieces. I guess I have to finally admit I'm growing up.

      Fuck.

However, I'm still learning to balance a relationship, work, and my personal life. It's been a long time since I committed to a serious relationship, and I'm re-learning the ropes. My personal life has suffered, but at the same time that doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I really am growing up.

      Fuck.

-Buying a cat to teach little Anna (my girlfriend Beth's kid) turned out to be a bad idea. Increased congestion and coughing made us worry she was slightly allergic, even though allergy tests came up negative. We brought him to my apartment for a little while. Needless to say, the kitten, Lil' Vino, is most of the time a pain-in-my-ass, but he's just doing the kitten thing really. I call him a "little bastard," but in a good way.

-Not to sound like I have an ego, but the short version of how work is going is that we had a great year during a year that the industry is down because I'm a hell of a manager. The first quarter of this year sucks, but we're still far above the national average. I'm amazing, what can I say.

-College loan is finally paid off. HAZZAH!

-The local Borders is closing, so many sales on books. I've visited on 3 occasions, buying everything from "Miles on Miles" to the "Marvel Civil War" graphic novels. I have a shit-ton to read.

-"Drunk Tank," "The Nerdist," and "WTF w/ Marc Maron" are exclusively the podcasts I listen to now. While I haven't made it to a comedy show in a while, my obsession with comedy is still strong.

      - On Gus' birthday, I left him the following comment: "HAPPY JESUS YEAR! HOPE IT ENDS BETTER FOR YOU THAN IT DID HIM!"

It got only one positive mod and ended with 2 negative WTF mods. Let me explain.

Gus turned 33. Christ was 33 when he was crucified and died.

Therefore, I refer to that birthday as a person's "Jesus Year."

The joke may be in poor taste, but eh, it was funny at the time I came up with it.

Nothing else comes to mind. After my "falling asleep kick" with Lord of the Rings finished back in December, back to "Red vs. Blue." Currently back on season 3.

Oh, and I still love you.

      Lots.

      Where'd you go Finch-y?

No, I'm not referencing some odd "Flight of the Conchords" meets "Cabbage Patch Kids."

Though that would look something like this:

      2roqpsz.jpg

shitty, I know, but I'm no artist, I'm a beer drinker..

Anyhoo, 'tis the season for all things Halloween, and if you haven't yet, check out ZombiePumpkins.com

It's a great site, been a member for . . .damn, 'bout 5 years now.

Messaged Luke McKay today - been a while since I harassed him, he hates me, but he's always nice when I mention the comics. Book 4 is on its way babies, get ready. Maybe I should bug Griffon too.

Asked the lovely Luke for some "Hello Nurse!" Devil-Nurse action; he's never disappointed before, but I'm a inferior minion, there's a first time for everything.

Bugged Maria Bamford's Facebook site today based on an email I got from some random entertainment site I logged onto once to see if she was coming to Cleveland (feels like a run-on sentence, but it's not). Loves that lady.

Opted to have Yuengling for dinner tonight instead of food; can't buy it in Ohio, brought back FIVE cases from my trip to Pennsylvania this weekend.

God Bless Capitalism. And the Ohio Department of Transportation.

      Much Love, hit me back.

Hey!!!! So weird. I just saw him LAST NIGHT for the first time since last fall!

He's better - lungs anyway. Still has a lot of facial reconstruction to go through... but he's alive and eating and breathing and all that goes along with that.

Thanks so much for asking! I totally have to write a journal.

Keep in mind that you can have the shipping (and insurance) covered by the buyer on eBay. And you want wrap the horn and neck piece in bubble wrap before you put them in the case. Then a box big enough to fit the case with packing peanuts. It's a good sized box, but seems like it would be around $50, but check and see. I think eBay is a good, safe bet, but you'll take a hit on price cause people are looking for a deal there. Also try taking an add out in the news paper in a major town/city in your area. You'll cut the shipping costs out, and can get a better price for your horn. www.saxquest.com has a section for postings you can put it up on. You can also put it up on Craigslist. The more places you post it, the better your odds. Oh, and don't forget local schools, high school and even college. The 475 is a solid step-up horn for someone with a beginner horn, and there are a lot of high school students (even college kids looking for their first tenor) looking for a horn, but don't want to spend insane amounts of $$. That's all I can think of for now, but let me know if you've got any more questions about anything, happy to lend a hand.

    • ryucon

I've bought a soprano and sold and alto and tenor though eBay. In those cases, they were modern horns (Selmer horns). What kind of horn are you selling? Might know the right market to go into.

I know that feeling. My son and daughter and I all play Rock Band 1 and 2 together. "PVC in the Ceiling" is our band name. He has beaten every song on expert. My daughter and I play on mostly expert, but a couple of hard songs. Rock Band 1, our trademark song is Green Grass in High Tides. 20 minute guitar solo! And yes, we are addicts too!!! smiley8.gif

Haven't been reading many comics as I just recently moved, but I am trying to catch up. When I moved, I got my old security job back, so I am not a projectionist right now, but it is a hobby that I like to to do, so I might see about getting a part time projection job sometime.
