Featured User? How can this be?!?!?!

It appears that I have been randomly chosen as Featured User today, so thank you, Sorting Hat, or whatever does the picking of such things! I would also like to thank the whole of Roosterteeth and the massive community that has sprung up around it over the last 10 years. RvB has been an important aspect of my life since I first saw it, and help mold(and disfigure) my sense of humor during those crucial early twenties years. And having attended the first 2 RTXs and the 2 RTMNs up here in Minnesota have been some of the highlights from the last couple of years.

I would also like to re-thank the community, as it has introduced me to some very good friends in the last two years. Even though I had been watching RvB since Episode 4 or 5(I just remember it was before Church died, caution decade old spoiler) I didn't attend an event until forcefully coerced by my good friend Jennacide, who I introduced to RvB.

So, again, thank you to RT for giving all it has to me, and to everyone who keeps the community machine moving!

      Changed my profile pic/avatar...

I think this is the first time I've ever changed it, which may be a little silly.

Don't worry, taxidermied Kermit, I will never forget you.

      Not never.

      Ring around the collar...

Whatever happened to Ring Around the Collar? When I was growing up in the late eighties and early nineties, it seemed like an epidemic. You couldn't turn on the television without some Tide or Whisk commercial warning you about Ring Around the Collar. That, and AIDS. In those troubled times, everyone was concerned with the whiteness of my collar, and the strength of my white cells.

My parents, fearing for my future, took some pre-emptive strikes against AIDS. These drastic measures included taking me to a lot of sci-fi movies, a ruthless combination of sadistic orthodontic equipment including but not limited to headgear, a bionator, and braces, and steering me away from an early promising baseball career and towards video games. All of those things did a pretty good job of keeping me safe. And alone.

Now 15 or so years later, I stand here free and clear of any diseases, but after completing my work laundry earlier today I noticed that all my white shirt have a hideous amount of Ring Around the Collar. So what the hell, life? Since the commercials stopped, I assumed we had cured the whole nasty RAtC business! Come on, Science. Get your head out of your ass!

p.s. Some of this journal is horseshit. I was never any good at baseball.

Spring cleaning. It's still Spring rite?

On this Monday I am performing my bi-monthly cleaning duties. It won't take me long, because I do a piss poor job of it, so maybe only 45 minutes or so. But as I do these simple tasks every other month or so, I often yell at myself that if would just do a couple minutes of this crap a day or maybe 20 fast minutes a week, it wouldnt take me so long to do this half assed cleanup.

It was only today that I realized that I'm going about that thinking all wrong. It it only takes me 45 minutes, maybe an hour to clean this place every 2 months, then I am way ahead on time. If I spent 20 minutes each week picking up the pieces around here, that would be 160 minutes over the course of 2 months. I am saving myself so much time and effort by being a lazy bastard.

I think I'm going to change things up a bit, and start cleaning every 3 months instead of 2. Think of how much time I'll save myself then...

My poor computer. It never had a chance

So, a while back, before RTX, my computer began a slow destructive decent into madness and lost files. My display would go crazy, then revert back to it's normal view. Then, one day, it started removing icons from the desktop and options from the start menu. That was the day before we left for RTX. They say time heals all wounds, so I was really hoping that the 5 days I would be gone would be enough for my comp to get it's shit together, but that was not the case. I just got it back from geek squad and I had them put 7 on it instead of Vista again. Something new to confound and impede my process, I suppose.

      Halo: Combat Evolved! Memories...

So, E3 is happening right now and they just announced not only Halo 4, but an anniversary edition of Halo: CE. Most are probably more excited for 4, but I'm really excited for the new version of CE. At this point, I'd like all my friends who have any fond memories of the first Halo to start sharing. I know of at least one friend on here who may not have been conceived when CE came out, but have at it.

Hang 'em high Rockets. That's a big one for me because every time I'd get together with my friends to LAN up Halo, we'd always start with a crazy game of Hang 'em high Rockets. No teams, no strategy, just rockets and bodies flying as far as the eye could see. By God, it was beautiful. Although the Halos continued to improve and expand, there was never a level and game type that stuck out to me as much, no standard game that began the nights proceedings. So, Hang 'em high Rockets.

      And... Go!

      Burnie's Rage haunts my dreams...

So, I fell asleep listening to the the Drunk Tank podcast from the week of RTX. Everything was going well enough, I suppose, until what I believe was a Drunk Tank Animated Adventure. All I know is I woke up to Burnie screaming at me to just turn off the phone. He was so angry, and I couldn't find the phone anywhere to turn off. That event sheered my sleep in half so completely that I laid there, holding myself, for a good long while.

      Thanks Burnie. thanks a lot.

I must bend the internet to my very will

So, my internet at my home is down right now, and they are sending a service tech out to the house to fix it... Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. I swear if Quest somehow gets in the way of my attending RTX, I will murder my way across this country until I reach Quest Headquarters, ground zero for the apocalypse.

Well then, I still had comments from you and Jenna from last year. It was great seeing you guys, even though I only saw you a twice and didn't really talk except for the end. Hopefully your trip back was good! Though, next year we will be RTX vets and I believe that will deserve a drink.
