So, I applied about a month ago to an internship thinking "meh, why not". A week ago I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I'd been chosen as a finalist for the internship. I did a shaky and nerve wrecking phone interview, and lo and behold yesterday I received a call formally inviting me to take part in the program.
So, I'm excited to announce to all my nerd friends that I'll be in Washington D.C this summer as a writer at Science Magazine participating in their Minority Science Writers program.
I'm incredibly nervous and excited.
In related news, please let me know if any of you know people willing to have a cool, respectful, chill college kid/intern couch surf or house-sit and who are within an hours bus/train commute to the National Mall. I would love to not have to use all my money on housing.
TLDR; I'm going to be living in D.C this summer working at Science Mag and if any of you know of a place I could stay near D.C that's not hella expensive message me.
