      dragonmanweb What's this?

      Real quick:

      1. I saw Thor. Great movie, easily worth adding the the list of solid comic book movies. Also Kat Dennings was in it and she is fantastic.

      2. I am officially the 12th most online person on the site. That is all for thing 2.

      3. GOG is having a sale on The Witcher as the sequel is coming out. Since it's only $5 right now, I decided to get it, and will let you guys know how it goes.

Now, it's late, I have work today, will make better journal later.

      dragonmanweb What's this?

Saturday was a long day for me. I don't know how I'm still up at 12:30 AM, considering I woke up for work at 5 AM. I was originally scheduled for a closing shift, but switched with someone who didn't want to work yesterday morning. I didn't mind, since I got two extra hours, plus I had a free afternoon, which was fun.

Unfortunately, while at work, I lost the brand new pedometer I got to help me track how much walking I actually do every day. And when I say brand new, I mean it was literally one day old. I got it Friday. Pretty bummed about that, though I figure there's a slim chance someone found it and actually turned it in to lost and found, instead of just tossing it or keeping it. I did check it during my last break, and it had nearly 10,000 steps on it, which is 5 or 6 miles. So even though I only had it for a day, it did its job.

Aside from that, the day was nice. I worked on the grill, but didn't have to work with any of the hard ass supervisors, so it was an easy day. When I got home, I saw my buddy was online, so we beat the Portal 2 co-op, and got a few more achievements in the process. After that, I walked on the treadmill, and since I've been trying to push myself, decided to job a little bit during the walk, going from a 20 minute mile to a 17 minute mile. Still not fast at all, but it's progress. Then it was dinner and a movie, and lots of random Internet browsing.

I had hoped to see the new Thor movie this weekend, but it looks like I won't see it until later this week, as my buddy I usually see movies with is out of town this weekend. I considered calling up someone else, just because I really want to see it, but decided that wouldn't be fair to him, as I asked him first, and withdrawing the offer seemed like a jerk move.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. It's Mother's Day, so go wish the motherly figures in your life a wonderful day. I have work, unfortunately, but I am still planning on dropping by my parents' place later on tonight to give her the card I bought.

      Peace,
      Me.

      P.S. I discovered a new element!

    • Broken Sleep Schedule

      dragonmanweb What's this?

That didn't take long. I swear, I can't handle more than one or two days off in a row, or my schedule just totally flips back to what feels natural - sleeping during the day, and being awake at night.

Unless I set alarms and force myself up, I will almost never naturally wake up in the morning. I also rarely feel tired at night, unless I really pushed myself physically or have been awake longer than 15 or so hours.

This also leads to my daily workouts being thrown off, but as I don't have a very rigid schedule there, I'm not very worried. I just hope the treadmill was quiet enough to not bother anyone else. I don't like using it, since my legs always feel wobbly after I finish, compared to normal walking, but I didn't particularly want to go for a half mile walk at 12 AM.

Anyway, I figure I'll try and stay up until at least late afternoon and see if I can loop my sleep schedule around again. I'm scheduled off until Saturday, owing to them cutting hours at work, so I'll have a few days to try and fix it before I go back.

      Peace,
      Me.

      P.S. Bahaha. smiley0.gif

    • Osama bin Laden is dead

      dragonmanweb What's this?

I'm sure you've heard by now. It's all over every news station. It sure caught me off guard, though. I was just getting off work, when I heard the news. A coworker was coming back from his break, and asked me if I heard the good news. I asked him what he was talking about, and he says, "We got him! We got Osama bin Laden!" I'm tired, I want to go home, so I just make a noncommittal statement, not really caring that we finally caught the bastard.

Well imagine my surprise when I stop by the break room to grab a drink for the ride home, and see the headline on TV - "Osama bin Laden is dead!" When my coworker told me we "got" him, I simply assumed he meant captured, and figured it would be weeks, or maybe months or years before he came to trial and any sort of actual punishment was doled out. It was like mood whiplash to realize that he was actually dead.

Anyway, while I'm not usually one to celebrate death, I can't say I'm disappointed with how this turned out. At the very least, there won't be more money wasted on bin Laden with all the trials and stuff I thought were going to happen. Hopefully it'll also bring us one step closer to ending these wars and bring our soldiers home.

It's been a long week. I think it's time to unwind with some Portal 2.

      Peace,
      Me.

P.S. My username on Steam is the same as here - Dragonmanweb. Hit me up if you want to do some Portal 2 co-op.
P.P.S. Also, my random desktop background changer just switched to this, which I think is pretty appropriate:

      dragonmanweb What's this?

Is fucking awesome. At least, the cooperative mode is. I haven't played the single player mode yet, but I just got it today, and since my friend was online, we decided to hit up the multiplayer side of things.

By the way, I waiting until today to buy it because it's on sale at GameStop. The PC version is only $29.99 (saving me $20)! I think the console versions are a little more expensive, but it's still a great deal.

Anyway, I have to go eat something and be off to work. Late shift tonight and tomorrow, which I'm not thrilled about, but at least I'm getting work.

      Peace,
      Me.

      P.S. I like this fish.

    • Most Modded

      dragonmanweb What's this?

I see people talking all the time about the Most Modded list here on the site, but I don't ever remember actually being on there myself. Well I just checked it, and there I am! Pretty low down on the list, but being in the top 100 of a site with over a million users is still pretty good, I say.

I also checked the Most Online section, and I am inching ever closer to that coveted #12 spot. Once I make it there, I'll be on the main page of the Community Stats, which shows the top 12 in each category, except the Most Watched, which is just top 10 for whatever reason.

Anyway, I gotta go get ready for work. Despite the cut back hours, I still got more than their limit. They didn't want any employee getting more than 28 hours this week, and I got 29.5 - and that's assuming they don't ask me to stay any later the rest of the week.

      Peace,
      Me.

      P.S. Everyone likes puns, yeah?

    • Days off

      dragonmanweb What's this?

I had two of them this week! First time in a month I haven't worked 6 days a week. But I'm back to work today, for a full 8 hours, too.

I was supposed to have Friday off, as well as Monday and Tuesday, but I got called in. They cut our hours at Sea World due to spring break being over for most places, but despite that, I'm still scheduled for more than the maximum allotted hours, owing to other people getting time off or calling in sick.

House sitting for my uncle is officially over, but it was nice while it lasted. I really did enjoy my time using my cousin's PS3, and seriously considered buying one up until the whole compromised accounts debacle occurred. That pretty much killed it right there, so now I'll wait and see what happens.

Not much else happening. I hope you all have a good Wednesday. I myself am looking forward to the Drunk Tank tonight when I get home from work. smiley0.gif

      Peace,
      Me.

      P.S. Those racist bastards.

Hey, I'm Featured User! Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate it, guys. smiley12.gif

In other news, my 4 hour shift at work was changed to an 8 hour shift, since someone called in sick and they need me to cover his shift. So hooray more money, but boo lack of sleep.

At least being FU'd is a nice counter to my grumpiness and getting up several hours earlier than I wanted to. smiley0.gif

      Have a great weekend, everybody.

      Peace,
      Me.

P.S. You never know what could happen. Better to be prepared.

eh, cant really argue with you there... i was halfway in my junior year when i got a job...i had some great forward momentum at that point so i was able to work it in steadily. it would have been much harder to go the other direction of having a full time job and then working in a semester of school...

I see Harry Potter and Narnia in your list of books. Are you familiar with 'Inkheart' by Cornelia Funke? Very thick book with a fascinating premise. There's also 'Inkspell' and 'Inkdeath' in that particular series.

Heyy, this is Jen, FadingLight's sister. I wanted to thank you for helping out and I'm glad to see you enjoy their music. They really appreciate that. Thank you for helping out by donating and posting a journal. Everything helps and it really means so much. I see that you're in the San Diego area so I feel I should let you know about the benefit show going on. On October 3rd they were going to have their homecoming show at Soma. Since the accident it's turned into a benefit show with the proceeds going to the family. It's only ten dollars, I'm sure the music is great, in fact I've heard a couple of the bands playing with A City Serene previously and they are really good, and it's at seven. If you could make it, that would be really awesome. You can go to www.somasd.com for more information. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

where you be neutral until the level before you get the achieveable, and save
do something good, level up, get the achievement, revert to save, do something evil, level up, revert to save, then continue with the game as neutral.
