well guys, i'm back with another update for those who look at this!

I mentioned in my last journal that i was planning on proposing to my girlfriend. well...i really can't refer to her as my girlfriend anymore because...SHE SAID YES!!!

we will be getting married in about a year if things go as planned. after we graduate in May we will be heading off for dallas, texas in search of jobs (since there aren't any out here in louisiana). hopefully by the time we get there the job market won't be too bad. if you guys have any info please let me know!

as far as everything else, things are going well. my thesis is developing nicely and midterms are coming soon and i should be more than prepared if things stay the course. my fiance and i are really looking forward to having time to ourselves once we graduate.

hopefully i will have time to catch up with rvb soon! i really miss watching the clips and I haven't watched any since december. halo legends is great, but nothing is quite like rvb! i'll frequent the website more often and keep you guys up to date!

      adios amigos,
      chris

    • Almost done!!!

Well this is my first journal entry in quite some time! A lot has happened since my last post (which wasn't very descriptive anyway). Here's a breakdown for all who give a damn:

      1. My team and I finally finished that solar-powered house and brought it to Washington DC for the 2009 Solar Decathlon. We were TEAM BeauSoleil and we designed our home to reflect our cajun culture. I have almost 1000 pics from it I am sifting through to see which ones to post. We won two of the 11 competitions in this international competition! Check out our website at www.beausoleilhome.org and the solar decathlon website!

Anyway, I've been working on this project for 2 whole years and its the primary reason I have been AWOL. We (students only) designed and built the solar-powered home with our own hands! If you check out the Websites or just google "beausoleil louisiana solar home" you'll get the idea.

      2. My girlfriend and I are about to hit the 3-year mark and we are content to spend the rest of our lives together. She doesn't know it, but I am going to propose to her in just a few weeks! We planned a trip tp Disney World for just the two of us because we haven't had a single break since we both started working on the beausoleil home 2 years ago. I got to thinkin "what more magical place to propose than Disney? We've already planned the trip, so why not?". Wish me luck!

      3. I am going to be graduating with my masters in architectural studies this upcoming may! After that, I will be heading out to the Dallas area in search of my first job after school! I've had quite a few during school though, so it won't be completely new territory for me. Just this past year I worked for the dean of our college and got one of my projects built by the school! I posted a rendering of it (its the library).

So anyway, that's leaving a ton out but touching on the biggest things going on right now. Let me know what you guys think of my renderings and such and I'll post another journal soon as I can! Please comment or something if you can. It would be nice to see if anyone keeps up with me after my long rvb hiatus!

shit its been a long time since i've been on the site! i just spent three hours going through all the newest comics and such.

a lot has happened in the past year! i did an awesome urban design project for fourth year and then got on board with a group of students and entered into the solar decathlon competition in january. since then we've gone through a lot of the design phases and are pushing to submit cd's by the end of this semester and start building the house. we've got a website and everything: beausoleilhome.org.

aside from that, i've been president and vice president of my school's aias chapter (american institute of architecture students). last year we got a lot of work done and really improved the organization. now as vice president and past president, i'm pushing everyone for perfection. we'll see how things pan out...

anyway, i can't throw too much into this thing, so enough of reminiscing. everything from now on will be up to date. its good to be back on rvb!

well, i'm in rome and about to depart back for florence today. i must saay i miss my apartment in florence, even if it doesn't have ac or anything!

so we've seen tons of things like the pantheon, colliseum, and the ancient city. tons of architecture too!

things are going pretty well on the home front too! my family had some crazy things go on while i was gone (my siblings are a bit rambunctious), but things have calmed down. the girlfreind and me are still going, just like that energizer bunny! been gone for over a month now! it hasn't been easy, but with two weeks to go, the rest of my trip is going to fly by!

other than that, all else is norm. i still have a crap-load of stuff to do when i get back, but i won't bore you guys with that now.

      ciao for now!

coming to you live from florence, its me! we've seen tons of stuff that i really wouldn't be able to fit it in about three journals.

i'll at least tell you guys what's been up:

we've explored every nook and cranny of florence and know it all by heart. we should after all, since it is our third week here! we've seen ruins and museums here. the usual when you go to a big city in europe.

outside of florence i've been to pontassieve, naples, capri, anacapri, viasolei, and zipped through rome (just to name a few).

we're leaving for a weekend in rome tomorrow, so that'll be wicked. i'll put pictures on this website when i get back. i simply don't have any free time on my hands with sightseeing and classes!

me and the girlfriend are still goin strong! we talk every night. i must say, i never thought that being away from her would affect me so much. even subconsciously! i can't wait to see her again!

when i get back home shit will commence with hitting the fan!

i get eye surgery as soon as i get back, and then i got an aias national leadership convention that is mandatory for all presidents, vp's, etc.
my girlfriend's birthday is the next weekend and we'll be spending a week in florida together! soon as i get back from that i go to new york to see my lil sis!

in between doing all this, i need to get everything ready for graduate schools and begin applying!

so yeah, don't really have time to breathe or anything! i'll keep you guys posted as often as i can! ciao for now!

so yeah guys, things have een absolutely nuts out here. by the way, I'M IN FLORENCE! we got here last week and things have been awesome. i love it out here and i will have some photos for you guys when i get back.

me and the girlfriend are still going strong! i miss her though. we have been communicating out here through a cellphone i bought in town, so things aren't to bad i guess. five more weeks to go without her! ahhh!

i'll try to keep you guys in touch too. now that the semester is over i'll hopefully have more time for it. i know i will! anyway, you guys are great. sorry about the long absence. things will be different now...just don't leave me smiley8.gif

well guys, the title says it all.

things have been going great for te past few weeks. the semester is about to end and i'm back at the head of the class. we're just about to push this next project to completion, which will be a big relief! the funny thing is, i'm tearing up studio with new ideas and stuff, yet i haven't pulled a late-nighter in about three weeks!!! my girlfriend insists that i get sleep and take a break after every meal throughout the day to chill out and relax. its really helped out!!!

our class just got back from a trip to dallas to see some amazing architecture. in the three days we were there we managed to see a tornado outside our hotel (within a mile of our hotel!), rip out a gas pump at a station and get away scott free (that was me by mistake), and i got to meet my girlfriend's parents whi hardly speak english! the tornado was cool. the hail that pummeled my car was not. the gas pump was embarassing. the meeting with the parents went great. they really liked me and her dad told me he hoped to see me again!

me and the gf are at almost a month and things couldn't be better! the relationship is moving quickly, but its because we were such good friends before we started dating. sadly, i will be leaving her and my family only a week after finals because i leave for florence. it will definitely test our relationship for me to be in another country and all. we plan on bein together for quite some time though.

the trips i got going on this summer are crazy! florence is the big one. then i leave for washington dc for a conference since i am now aias president at our school. after that i head off to new york for a week to visit my lil sis who will be doing a design school thing at parson's. my family is now toying wit the idea of going to santa fe as well! i'm tellin ya, my girlfriend is going to kill me if i don't see her at all this summer!

well, that's about all i can think of for now. i've gotten used to going to bed early, so i'm calling it a night. i'll update my photos soon as i get some from the gf. adios for now guys!

well guys, its been about a week since me and my cuban counterpart hooked up! man am i feeling romantic and unexpected!

things have been going great. the dinner thing with my parents went off without a hitch that night! and everyone greatly approved of my girlfriend.

architectuer has been going good too. as of monday i was a week ahead of what the teachers considered a week ahead. so, essentially, i am two weeks ahead!!! and i thought i was behind!!! i took the past couple of days to focus on other classes (and the gf of course). so far i got the highest grade in the class in engineering and got a b (if my predictions are correct) on a test i took today in structural systems. it was on over 220 pages of powerpoint slides! so i'm satisfied with that!

this weekend some of my friends are throwing a crawfish boil, so things will be nice and cajun this weekend. next weekend is going to be spring break for us. the gf and i are going to my home to eat with the parents and then coming back to laf. we are then going to go on a trip with our fellow students to dallas for the next weekend. in the mean time we'll be working on studio and stuff, so it'll be like a normal week.

well, i think me and my gf are about to go grab some grub. she's done pestering me about physics and stuff (i'm a tutor/teacher). i'll be sure to post some pics of us as soon as i can. adios you guys!

well guys, i said i'd make a move soon and i did. i am no longer the sexy single stud i used to be. i am not the sexy, not single stud of tomorrow!

i took my cuban counterpart and some of our best friends out for sushi last night. i was the only guy and, being a gentleman, handled the bill for us all. afterwards her and i went to go see gothica at my place. once that was done we went over to our best friends/couples apartment to watch blood diamond. that is when things got spicy. no details since that's immature, but i'll say that we are officially an item now. and i've never dated or known a cuban except for here, so this will be interesting.

anyway, today will be crazy. i got elected president of our local aias chapter, so now i need to really get my feet wet since i'll be running the show next year. we have a gigantic crawfish boil this morning and i have graciously donated a full keg. so i gotta go pick that damn thing up this morning. there's also a party we're throwing tonight, but i don't think i'll be able to make it. i will definitely try, but if the crawfish doesn't setttle well with me, then i'm done for the night. tonight is also going to be a guy's night for me since my girlfriend and her friends are having a girl's night. i know the entire subject of conversation will be me and my new girlfriend, because everyone has seen this before we even saw it ourselves. i think i need a good night of testosterone anyway!

tomorrow i will be leaving laf early afternoon to go back home to hammond with my new girlfriend. like i had said earlier, i had invited her to come with me to a big dinner party thing some time ago. i think its awesome that we sealed the deal before she met my parents.

well guys, i'm off to go get the keg and prep for the crawfish boil! damn it feels good to have somebody!

      ciao

well guys, i've had quite an eventful weekend!

friday i cooked a new recipe that was amazing! we had crawfish pie, corn and crab bisque, bailey's irish cream brownies, and a strawberry shortcake made with strawberries from my home town (which is famous for its strawberries). i had about 15 people over and all 15 left happy and full.

after that we all went to see premonition, which was okay i guess. i simply don't like confusing movies. i still want to go see 300 for a third time!

after that me and my escort went back to my place and watched band-camp from the american pie series. things were good then and the good moie overpowered the crap i saw earlier.

saturday was awesome. my high school made it to the state championships and won the 2a division! the game was down to the last six seconds. other team had the ball. it was 71 to 73. we were winning. the guy with the ball sprints down and takes a buzzer shot from the 3-point line. the ball hit the rim, bounced stright up twice, spun around the rim, and then rolled out! you could've heard a pin drop in those few seconds the ball was up. afterwards all the seniors were crying, their parents were crying, and i actually got teary-eyed for them. i knew a few of them closely and i couldn't have been more happy for them. they LIVED for that game.

saturday night was a frickin blast! i went to our local bennigans last night with my cuban escort and some friends. after a couple of hours over there, we went to see my friend who just got a bartending job at a cuban restaurant. i tried five different kinds of mojitos, eight heavy drinks total. my cuban escort had nearly as much as me, and she only weighs 105! needless to say, she is still feeling it! so after taking care of her, she decided to spend the night.

i don't know if its good or bad news, but i am about to make my move with the girl guys. things are looking up and i'm getting the thumbs-up from quite a few friends, so i'm going ahead with it. it may happen tonight, it may happen later this week. it will be this week though. i just gotta wait for the right moment.

wish me luck guys! i need it!
