I am currently testing a theory (which i disagree with vemently) that neg mods increase karma.. (my freid is SURE that they do) hence I have made a lot of moronic comments that might get neg modded.... so if I made a moronic comment on your thread.. now you know why

Some one needs to start holding the makers of Red vs. Blue to their claims about how frequently the episodes are made. Don't get me wrong I love Red vs. Blue and its not a major deal but they explicitly claimed episodes would come out once a week and while they are certainly not responsible if people getting the episodes for free are disappointed it could be argued that they have misrepresented sponserships. A sponsership is supposed to give you 6 months of RvB with episodes released once a week. As it stands they are released slightly less frequently than twice a week. RvB is so awesome its hard to be mad (and $10 isn't much) but if I bought a 16 oz bag of chips that turned out to have only 7 ounces I would be a little mad...

First off I know "vs." threads are not normally allowed but I think this one is ok since it is actually intelligent and interesting. Assuming the mods agree and it not locked everyone else can do similar searches for different terms and see what results they get. I thought this would be interesting seeing as the competition between Google and MSN has heated up so much and because there seems to be a lack of REAL data as to how they messure up.

I looked for things on MSN and then the same thing on Google and compared the results based on what I hoped to get (after all no matter how advanced the tech is it dosn't matter if you dont get what you want right?)

My results so far (I have a few other search terms and I might post them later also anyone who is interested should post the results of their own comparisions):

      1.) SEARCH TERM: "halo 3"
      RESULTS FROM MSN:
first page results included the usual suspects like several pages from bungie.net, IGN gamespy and a few others but also included the original form post for the alleged leaked halo 3 script on an obscure message board (I know this is the original form it was posted on from reading news stories about the alleged leak)

      RESULTS FROM GOOGLE:
Same thing as MSN with the addition of a few other site (joystiq etc) but lacking the leaked script... WTF?!?

      ADVANTAGE: MSN
      ...................................................................................................................................................................

2.) SEARCH TERM: "resident evil: afterlife"
      RESULTS FROM MSN:
A decent amount of useful and recently releasaed info including the usual site like imdb but with the inclusion of a more obscure blog that contained slightly juicer info than the rest of the sites almost made MSN win this round.. but...

      RESULTS FORM GOOGLE:
same stuff as MSN but lacking the aformentioned blog post but near the bottom included wikipedia page which had all of the available info summerized in one place in a very nice format.

      ADVANTAGE: GOOGLE
      ...................................................................................................................................................................

3.) SEARCH TERM: 7474 soic buy (this is a part I needed for work which is older and hard to find in the SOIC package I needed)
      RESULTS FROM MSN:
MSN search results feature the Texas Instuments product folder as the very first result. Since I only needed 2 of these I obtained them free through their sample program and they even agreed to ship them overnight... SCORE!

      RESULTS FROM GOOGLE:
TI product folder nowhere to be found all the sites they list were either non-stock or did'nt have SOIC... uh-oh...

      ADVANTAGE: MSN

I usually use MSN at work and google at home since I have the MSN toolbar here at work but Google as my home page at home (don't ask me why.. lol) maybe I will switch to MSN at home as well... hmmm...

HOLY CRAP!... i got off work at 4:30 and went straight to Wal-Mart... 150 plus people all waiting in a make shift "xbox refugee camp" playing battlefield 1942 on laptops and ALL hoping to get one of the 48 consoles they had available (preferably one of the $400 ones). So I went to another Wal-Mart and another and another and another then I went to Hasting's and Best Buy all the while calling every store i could get numbers for via wireless "EDGE" internet service while in the car... driving on the freeeway with cruise set to 92Mph... Guess what? I STILL DON'T HAVE A FUCKING XBOX 360! lol
