      Hello... how's it going? its been a while...
      I'll admit my reason for connecting again with this site is purely for personal gain... I need opinions and open, honest feedback. I have a couple of new images that I would like somebody to have a look.
      Their bpth for makeup competitions and the one with an actual model and not a drawing, has already lost the first competition. I misread what they were loking for and turns out it was nothing like I thought.
      fist off, lest start off with the competition, its the International Makeup Artist trade Show (IMATS) and they have a student competition with two different categories, beauty and SPFX. I applied for the beauty category for the show held here in Toronto on Nov. 21st. the beauty category was a Gothic theme, and specified that they were loooking for a 'Pretty' look rather than a 'scary' look. so I came up with a sort of, Steam-punk gothic Ensamble that I was RAELLY proud of. this was look that you could take home and try out yourself and still be be within "fasionible" rehlms and truly a gothic look according to the origional deffinition. the main colour along with the obvious black was yellow and silver grey; the yellow could be seen from the back of the crowd! drowned out by mass amounts of lights! it was great! the first place winner I can understand why she won, she did a beautiful job, the runnerups, I don't get them at all... they were pretty much looking for the usual suspects: black eyes, black lips, white face... snore... nobody even took a second look to mine, didn't ask me about my look and what I was going for, a photo didn't even end up on the offficial website :( i was so dissapointed. if you want to see all the entrants you can check them out at www.imatsshow.com the first place winner was the one with the green eyecolour and the spiderwebs on ther head and neck. always foiled by stensils... but what really says something is that I was accepted in the competition which only accepts about 8 people from all over the world... go me :D
      the next show coming up is in London england at the end on Jan and the theme for the beauty category this time around is Alice in Wonderland. this time i'm going big and i'd like some advice on the look i'm going for.. is it too much? too little? not really clever enough? doesn't make sense? tell me everything you think honestly, I can take it. I won't get defensive I promise.

      Thanks!!!

      so, in case you haven't noticed yet, I seem to have come out of retirement and came back to good ol' RvB. what can I say? i love the crowd.
      I've been hard at work as you might be able to tell from my photos can coming from a person who has just about never sculpted before in her life, is doing pretty good. I know it might sound cocky of me but when you love what you do, what you do loves you back and turns out beautiful. I've got some more pretty intensive projects coming up next which is kinda stellar because by the time you finally get to what you came for, there's three months left and you have to get everything done at the same time. My portfolio is due in a few wekks and I did not realize this until three days ago. oops. so I'll have some more projects to post, but its going to take a little while because I'm on a real crunch now.

      so, I know it's been a while since I've been on - actually a lot of my post havebee starting like that haven't they? - but there's a good reasn for that this time... I moved to Vancouver!
      I'm attending Vancouver Film School for their one year Make up for film and Television program. so I'm supre stoked about that, but what's balls is that it doesn't start unti this coming monday and I've been here since last wednesday. My mom left me to be on my own this past Thursday and already I'm bored out of my mind. It's not that there isn't anything to do in the City, because I'm sure there's lots. it's that I dont know anybody. even at orientation, I hate being so damn quiet at first because it takes forever for me to get to know anybody. and this wekend is the Global Marijuana march and it's just making me miss my friends even more because I know there all getting together to go and I'm going on my own :( WITHOUT any weed no less, because I don't know where to go to get any, EVEN THOUGH, every third person that walk by me, literally REEKS of it. no fun. not to mention the weather has been pretty shitty for the last little bit - except for the day before my mom left when it was absolutly georgeous - so that doesn't help when the weather doesn't exacly encourge you to leave your comfy warm bed. although the room itself is freezing :S at least in 2 weeks I'll have CanWest to look foward to. meet some fellow Geekians. but at this point, i just want school to start so that i can have something to DO. homeworkmay suck, but it's a great fall-back plan when your bored out of your mind. although, I must say, I am enjoying typin on my brand new laptop, with one of those foldable keyards my cousin grabbed for me. I feel like that chick from live Free or Die Hard, only hotter because I'm not such a miniacle bitch. I make sure when I'm done with it i fold it back up nicely so that i can whip it open again before i start using it. I love it. and you can spill anything on it and it won't do anything becuase it's all rubber with no exposed electric. is nice :D
      Anyways, that's about all I've got for today. hope everything is going well for everybody. I'll let you know how sschool is going. although at this bordom rate, karma might just find it funny to overoload me with so much unexpected work that I'm going to be so overloaded and wish I have nothing to do again. cause if she does (*shakes fist in the air*)...nah we're square.

      bye bye Everybody!

      I lost my job as a beer vendor which blows goats because I really liked that job. and I'm not even going to bother fighting it because I'm leaving the provience in two months anyways. might as well just find another job to tied me over until I leave. and I found out there will be a few shifts over at the soccer field I can pick up before I leave. go home with at least $100 from every shift. even if I only pick up 3 that's still $300 on tips alone - BOO BOOOOO! - and then I don't have to show up again. that's what I love about HUGE organizations. their so busy with everything they don't care about the little guy. which is kind of balls when they just fire you after you've worked so well for so long with the company. your just a number. (*shruggs*) oh well, you give a little you get a little.
      I can't wait to be spending a year on my own in Vancouver for school. because this is going to be the first time since i was about 16 - 17 years old that I've been able to consintrate on just school. JUST school. no working for a year :O I don't know if I can make it... when I was 16 my mom grabbed me a job at Toy 'R' Us for the Christmas season. the WORST! those stupid toy dog were SUPER popular and they were always out of stock and people were going NUTS for them! it was crazy. and then Christmas ended and thy didn't need me anymore. That summer I worked as a live-in nanny for my two younger cousins. and I did everything nannies do. all the meals, cleaned up the house, took them to practices, helped them with their work, everything. the Christmas season after that I worked in retail again at the mall at a place called Green Earth. now if you know this place, you'll know that it carries the most random shit ever. gothic jewellery and jewellery for every possible peircing you can think of. candles and inscence, photo frames and albums, decorative plaques, wind chimes, candles - oh my God the candles - rag dolls for kids, porcelin animals spiritual figurines random random shit. it was actually a pretty cool store because it was so different. but then after I left it started to get a lot more gothic but not nearly as dark as gothic shoudl get so it's kind of frutty because it's like the store is trying too hard. now there's just a lot of dragon and pixie figures and Nightmare Before Christmas stuff. and candles.
      Moving on!
      The next summer after that I was jobless. I was probibly the second best summer of my life. I'll tell you why it's the second in just... a second... but basically I decided I was going back to high school for an extra year. so I didn't have to worry about paying for ANYTHING it was great... In school, our year was the first year that didn't have OAC so you basically got to choose any program you wanted. so first semester I had a grade 10 art class, a grade 11 art class and a law class - I had to pick something... second semester I had a grade 12 art class, and a two credit co-op class working at a salon accross the street from my school. when they needed help they would ask me if I would comein to work evenings and Saturdays summer came around and the school semester ended and they asked me to come back to work for them. and I did. for 2 and a half years. they pretty much paid for my collage. and I managed to pay everything off. for the last summer that I wasn't working at the Salon I went to tour Europe with a few friends of mine. Which there for makes THAT summer the best summer of my life. but I had to borrow some money from my parents to go which blows because as soon as I got back my parents were on me to get a job to pay them back. you come back from a trip like that, whether you have a job you love or not - all politics aside I DID like that job at the Salon - you will not want to work after that kind of trip. So I took small odd jobs which actually kept me really busy. I'd work booths for various companies at different conventions. take over administrative positions when reception was out for the day. this was also when i started work at the print shop that I still work at now putting together surgical packages for the hospital. I'm turning 21 at this point. then a friend of mine got me a job as a food vendor for the Grand Prix in TO. one of the managers came up to me and told me he liked how i worked and told me to e-mail my resume to him. never actually got around to doing it because a friend of mine told me about how she was moving to TO and was wondering if I wanted to go with her. of course I did but for me to do that I had to get a steady job. so I found a reception position at a talent agency. I worked there for 2 months and hated it. sure I was getting hours and the pay was great. I hated it there and I think they knew it. in fact, I thik they were reading my sent messages that I would send out to friends while I sat in the front with nothing to do. not to mention, I think the place was a scam for people to spend money on photo's and then never get them jobs. which bytheway, if somebody comes up to you and tells you they had a talent scout tell themthey want to be their agent. tell them to a) make sure they DO NOT give you a specific photogroapher to work with. if they insist on you using their photographer, it's a scam. second, ask them how many people are on their roster and how many of them actually get hired. don't let them tell you about all the job offers they get, ask them how many people actually get HIRED for jobs. so yea, two months later I left that place which ment i wasn't able to move out with my friend. Balls... but then came my brithday which is always great and then I got a call from the manager that I worked with at the Grand Prix and he offered me a job as a beer vendor. so I worked for both there and the hospital for a year. then I decided I wanted to go to Vancouver for a year for school, than grabbed another job working retail at my aunts store. for a year and a half until this very day. minus beer vending

      I was at work putting surgical packages together when I randomly thought of an on-line conversation I had in one of the fforums of this very site. Somebody was talking about how there was a show on Youtube that is apparently going to be on the Space channel now. i was skeptical about the idea of having youtube shows on TV. along the way of trying to prove my point I used the word "sell-out" which brought a third party out of nowhere to say something like "please stop saying sell out... nobody in the media industry actually cares..." or something like that.
      truth is, you are both right and wrong about that.
      I'm not at all against people using a means like YouTube to get their show pitched. however, when it comes to making a show successful, you need to please your demographic. if you don't have fans to watch the show, you have no ratings and then have no show. so if your going to change from one format to the other, you better make sure that your ENTIRE fan base that got you the attention in the first place is behind you all the way. Espcially when your going from the convience of download-at-any-time viewing or selected show times. It's true that people in the media industry never use the term sell-out because they don't really care how you made your start, what they care about is how you work in their side of the industry. if your used to making video's for youtube, there's a good chance you've never been on an actual set before. and let me tell you, it's a lot different than working with family and friends, in your own neighbourhood with your digital camera. Or with classmates that have to work with you because if they don't there's $6000 down the drain if they fail. Basically, if you don't have that experience before entering the world of television, you might end up loosing the respect of your colleges, or they consider you unprofessional because of media standards and you loose good workers that way. and the station isn't going to give you new staff, so you have to find your own, and unless you have great character judgement, you're not going to get the best quality work and then your show ends up failing.
      it's the same with American Idol, Next top model, etc.
      the media industry is a tough world and if you don't have the skin for it, or the ability to understand WHY, than don't bother with it. Instead, just sit back, relax, enjoy the show. and when you do get an idea for entertainment, keep it to Youtube and keep it as a hobby. not all hobbies can work as jobs, but that doesn't mean you have to stop doing it.
      Take care everybody!

      that song doesn't sound NEARLY as epic when it's typed out....
      anywho, even though I've been gone much longer than I thought I would, there was still only one person that made it to 100 post. 115 to be exact.
      and the winner is.....

      YEAAAAYY!!!!!! in addition to your 100 mods, here is a bunch of Burlesque Beauties!

      y1plq_-z4JAw-kpkspO5Icq5gWj5wpNvFIkD_haR

      that's their actual name.. cool huh? I think the one on the far right looks like Amanda Bines... neh?
      anywho, thanks for all that tried... if any... It's probibly going to be a while before I reach 100 mds again, so don't hold your breath for the next contest. i wouldn't be able to live with that guilt. actually I'm lying, yes I would... it's called alcohol... I'll drink to your memory.
      But now thankfully the wedding is over, everybody had a great time. Me and my cousi were in charge of the shot table right when people were entering the hall. when you have a wedding party of about 250, and your taking a drink every 5th person or so... yea, you get a little bombed... good thing it was a portuguese wedding, 5 courses and a bathroom trip later I was ready to start all over again! good times. the music was great, the food was amazing, and I can't wait for my uncles suprise 50th this weekend because it's going to be GREAT! maybe not as good as the wedding... but it'll probibly be a REALLY close second. man, I love my family... one weekend is a wedding, next weekend is a 50th - another open bar event but this time, it's disco themed! (*thumbs up*) - the weekend after that is my cousins confirmation - yet another open bar event... cn you see the smile on my face from where you are? - and then from there all the Christmas festivities start... I can't WAIT! I jus want to bypass working all day and just go straight to the party days I have off... I haven't had to many of those since my birthday... :( oh well.
      Anywho, I think that's all from me today. once again congradulations to Stonesword. your dedication to keeping us laughing AND informed this day does not go unnoticed.

      Well... bored with a laptop at my disposal... might as well type something out...
      the only shitty thing about typing with a laptop is the damn mouse pad, it's always messing up my screen... oh well, I'll live.
      Nobody has reached 100 journals yet. maybe I'll have an undisclosed deadline... like when somebody reaches 99 I'll cut it off :P
      You know what sucks? working.... you know what else sucks? working 4 jobs... wanna know what sucks even more? being sick as you face the toughest month of non-stop job jumping (I literally go from Oakville, to Mississauga, to Toronto) and the WORST part of it all? I'm planning my sister-in-laws bachlorette party. I'm the maid of honour and that leaves me to plan the big party for her. so leave the huge party to the girl who's never planned a party before in her life.
      Here's the game plan, the brides step mom is going to throw her a "Lingere" party to be like the cover for the real party. It'll be great because she'll be a little ticked off because she doesn't want her family involved in that kind of party. after that party, a limo is going to come by and pick us up to take us to TO. We're just going to make it seem like a small thing, dinner and then movies in the hotel. but then when we get to the hotel SUPRISE! the rest of her party, with more presents (better presents) cake and Champagine, an outragous burlesque outfit for her to be wearing that night - along with everybody else that night - and then back into the limo for a night of music and liquer :D if only planning the damn thing was as smooth as thinking it up. fucking party planning... so far with two weeks left, I've managed to get the gift done. and now that the guest of honopur is now sitting right next to me I might just stop the blog now.

      so, apparenlty being away for almost a month leaves you with a HUGE list of update profiles... man, people can write a lot... so unfortuitly I haven't been able to check out people post because, well, it's my brithday month and I'm barely even home for the time being.
      which, by the way, I've been having a great time. although I vow from now on I will never work the day of my birthday party - along with the actual day of my birthday - EVER again.
      back on topic, I've decided to keep my list of updated journal entries list for a little contest I came up with. first one to 100 journals gets 100 mods. and they have to be real posts too. I'll be checking (*shifty eyes*). wanna know who's in the lead so far? well, here you go:

      Rinawa = 19
      CELTICPRED = 19
      VampireSlayer = 20
      wholesBrodie = 21
      Vash001 = 23
      datalaughing = 36 (but he has a constest going on ever day, so I'm still debating if that should count...)
      Fwoosh = 38
      StoneSword = 61

      Everybody else has either 16, 7, or 1. and new images and forum topics don't count.
      but yea, other than that, it's been either work for me or my birthday party. I have a few more drawings that I've done. butI think I'll post those tomorrow. I don't know if I feel like dealing with my printer right now. it's been pretty iffy lately. but since that doesn't matter to you, I'll think I'll leave my post good and short today. OH! i did get to meet Tex - her real name escapes me right now... I'm sorry hun - at the Toronto Fan Expo. and stupid me forgets to pick up the new DVD... how do you DO that?! oh well, I did get buttons, and they didn't have the 'gay robot' t-shirt... balls... so all that's left to meet is Luke and caboose. man, my brain is shit today.... I think I'll take that as a sign that I need sleep...
      and ADAM WEST!! I got him to sign a catman picture :D he laughed. it was a good time.
      Take care!

      So, turns out the same weekend it's RVBTO, my best friend's parents decide it's a good time for a vacation and they leave her with the house and give her permission for a part so long as she cleans up. DONE! so, I spent the weekend drunk at her place, completely forgetting that RvB was in town.... shit... (*sigh*) oh well, I still had a great time.
      but in better news, Simpons movie is coming closer and closer and I am starting to see the posters everywhere... so I keep reminding everybody that we're watching it opening day. Simpsons raised me! there's no way I'm missing it... what are the odds The simpsons movie will kick Harry Potter out of IMAX? here in a huge suburbin city like Mississauga, the only thing that is fun here to take up your time, is either malls or movies. and their both right beside eachother so if you get tired of shopping, you can rest up by going to the movies. it's a fun filled day! hell, our city hall, is literally in a mall parking lot. Square One is the largest mall in Ontario (second in canada only to the West Edmonton mall... duh) and is considered Mississauga's downtown. we're pretty ashamed of that, so if you ever hear somebody from Mississauga talk about how they went downtown, they actually mean Toronto. but yea, when you have that kind of demographic, you better BELIEVE they put the largest IMAX projector right smack in the middle of this city. I won't see IMAX movies unless their here in Mississauga, or else it's just not the same. the second best movie screen to see movies in is theatures for the hearing impared. they jack up the bass to the point you can feel it in your soul. so when you have something like, oh I don't know, MEGATRON make an apperance and start talking "I AM MEGATRON." with sound that was ment for the hearing impared.... you better believe you'll want to bow down to that shit... stupid harry potter taking over the IMAX screen, if they were smart they would have had Transformers in there and then Simpsons after. just to make me happy. kids will probibly get scared if the movie is too loud anyways, why would they go into IMAX by choice?theycan't even tell the difference yet! what a waste... Transformers would have been great in there for, well, obvious reasons, and when the Simpsons comes out, it's just in time to take over the IMAX and support the demographic their striving for, which is the origional fans, who are the die hard "I've known simpsons my whole life" kind of crowd and looking for something really epic. and I think having that movie in IMAX would have been a great final touch. but, who am I but some cyber geek fresh out of collage, and I have no idea of the business.... right? :P
      All and all, this summer has been a GREAT summer for movies. even though I still haven't seen Pirates 3... leave me alone... but seeing the simpsons, is just going to be EPIC! in every sense of the meaning.
      I really didn't mean for that to be so long, I should be alseep right now since I have to be up for work tomorrow. buit it's been so long since I've finally had time to sit and enjoy my fucked up computer, and now it's just getting annoying that I can't do ANYTHING without getting about 7 pages worth of adware.... (*sigh*) oh well.
      Take care everybody!

      First off, I'm going to warn you now that there is goin to be a few lettrs mising in this post because y computer is messed up and I refuse to let it take away my computer time. I think have a virs in th keyboards drivers system (all the hotkey, special buttons that never actually get used stuff) and Idon't know how to get it out and the only person I tust to take re of my computer now lives in PEI (*sigh*) so if anybody as any suggestions the'd like to thrw at me, I'm all eyes. get it? because I'm reading? it made me giggle, screw you all...
      so here's the question of the day.... how many jobs is too many when your working to pay off school before it even starts? you think four might border that limit a little bit? because techically that's how mny jobs I've got right now... ad that's before thvolunteer work. I've got twojobs as beer vendor. well... technicaly I'm working for the same people, but it's different buildngs. either way I work for the Leafs - and the lousy fuckers cant even pick up the pace fast enough to eve make the finals (shakes fist). but yea so tha's two, than I'v got a job stuffig envelopes at te hospital, which sn't as bad as it sounds when you have a headset ith your own music, everybody leaves you alone until you need them (since it's a job retarted mnkey can do :P) and yuou start working on Auto Pilot and your brain just wonders, next thing you know it's 5 hours ater and you've done 1000 packages without even realizing it. good times. 4th is woring at my aunts decor store a couple days a week. which is also pretty sweet because I get the non-busy days, so I get toplay wit display designs and move everything around and kep my creatie juices flowing, PLUS she's going to be bringing in a labtop for me to ue with wireless conection so that I can take pictures of my displays ad update the site. sweet, neh? plus I'm still doing Make-up work for people. PLUS I'm in my brothers bridal shower, which is pretty much a job, only you pay to do it instead f the other way around :P an between all this, I'm stillmanaging to havesome kind of life and just enouh computer time for it to screw up on my and leave me pissed off that I can'teven check my e-mails without the stupid thing creashing on me, forcing me to shut it down and leave it becuase I don't have ime because I have somewhere alse to be. Butyou wanna knowthe great thing? I feel fantastc. I'm just content, right where i should be. yea, there will e shitty points where I want everything to change, bt this is right where I belong. I'm not tired, I don't feel worn out (minus the fee pains considering I'm standing about 8 hours straight a day),and every morning - although I'm not morning person - I'm still able to at least get up and do it all over again. because notwo days are the same anyways. I have a different job every day. I can't WAIT for school in Vancouver, it is gong to be sooo worth it.
      Before I go, does somebody have a link or info or something - if anything has even been released yet :P - for what's going on with RvBTO? normally I'd click aound until I found something, but, well, my cmputer is really.... really... REALLY fucked up... let me know.

      Well this is a three day event of sorts and this will be the third one, we were talking about "What would you spend for the 3 days?" 45 bucks a day for a convention like this is nuts! I think we are probally going to have a price list if you attend all the "Special events" it will be like 30 bucks. If you just want to attend the "screening and panel for RVB" then it's say 15. etc..

      Actually thats why it works for me to always have a drink in my hand. That way I do some drinking and they don't bug me because it looks like I'm drinking, nevermind I've probably consumed one drink in the time everyone's had three or four... by then they can't tell the difference between one and four anyway. Heh.

      Oh and thanks. I wasn't trying that at first but given I tend to write this stuff down as I think of it before I forget it probably works better written like that. It seems to be popular... no idea why smiley0.gif

      reply to week ago comment, wow, that is so true though,i know a few kids like that too. I'm so sick of all the parents saying that the kids need riddlin and that they can't get them to calm down, how about hitting them, little pain goes a long way, i probably needed riddlin growing up, but they didn't have it then, and if the teachers would have given me something more to do i wouldn't have been such a pain, not my fault my teachers were lazy jackasses. My fifth grade teacher even told me i'd never make it past 9th grade, boy i sure showed that jackass!

      lol sounds about like me. Over the phone and online I can have intelligent conversations but when I'm around people I normally just listen and chime in if I have an idea or something to say

      Very good point. But I think in the beginning two should be in contact and do things a bunch first together but also not lose site that the worlds do not revolve around them and that they should make sure they don't the world away for a false reality.

      On another note, damn your intelligent, you would be an awesome person to hang out with. It's ashame you live about 150-200 miles away

      Racing them is how you get their classes up. If you win 3 C-class races your chocobo becomes B-class. Three B races it becomes A. 3 A races it becomes S. For most chocobos no matter how many greens you feed them they'll never get above A. But when you get a couple of great chocobos to A and use the right nut to breed them and get a special colored one, they'll be a whole lot better.

      Ok, when you say you can't get past a class C, I assume you're racing them at the Golden Saucer and they're just not fast enough. Are you catching and keeping the right chocobos (ie "great" ones) and are you feeding them good greens? The Sylkis ones that the chocobo sage sells are the best but also very expensive.
