So much for being back. I'll wander through, but i'm afraid the site's lost all its appeal.

So I'm back. Dunno for how long- mostly just Erica dragging be back here.

Dub5, we still need to figure out something for a convention. Apparently they shut down GenCon California, unfortunately.

Glad I didn't abandon the Star Wars books thread; I'm finally having some decent dialogue about the more recent books with people who don't just say 'boba fett is a badass, give us more books with him'. Kinda wish JayCee was back in it, though- she usually had some good insights.

      2 bags socks
      new watch
      tax software
      tax security jump drive
another (my third) set of pajamas
small bag of chocolate and suchlike candy

Honestly? I think the presents I got online in WoW were better than that. I see everyone's giant list of stuff they got, and I wonder what I did wrong. In WoW, i got a machine that turns me into a snowman, a little robot that follows me around, a buttload of health regen food, and some patterns to make nifty holiday outfits.

Also got some of those animal sponges- the ones that come in little pill cases, and when you drop them in water the case dissolves and the sponge expands. But those were from Emily before we were even officially dating, sort of a 'i saw these and thought of you' type of thing. I felt bad because I didn't get her anything- so I tracked down her secret santa in the group we met in, and ninja'd that present- since she'd had to drop out of it because she was going home.

Sorry if I come across as grouchy. I've just never really been one for the holiday season. Never really had a reason to treasure one, kinda like birthdays they just show me how many years I'm wasting. I did get to go home and see my family again, which is always nice. And get free, real food, which is also always nice.

The guy who was doing donut frying at the Safeway I work at vanished a couple days before christmas. His roommate hasn't seen him, nor has anyone at work, so we're getting a little worried. He was a friend of mine, so i've been trying what i know to track him down, to no avail. But since he's gone, and I'm the only other one there who's trained at the donut frying, guess who gets to do that until they hire a replacement? Yep, me. So it's back to the crappy 2am-10am shift.

Re-read a bunch of my Star Wars books, and finally tracked down the last Dresden Files novel I was missing. Jim Butcher's relatively new, as far as authors go, but he's got a great sense of humor. The main character's just like me; sarcastic, pessimistic, and above all else trying to do the right thing. Except that he's a wizard, the best private eye in Chicago. I recommend reading the first book, Storm Front, at a Borders somewhere (or whoever sells books where you are, dunno if it's a national chain. And that way, you'll know if you like them or not.

I think that's it for my update. I've already typed more than in the past couple months combined.

      Luke 2:1-20

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.â€Â
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“ Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!â€Â

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.†And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely[d] known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

What about a RvB TV? any of that coming out anytime soon?

Working on it, actually. And by "working on it" I mean "stalling everyone until Christmas break, when I will actually have time to work on it."

All I need are one or two characters voiced, and then I ship it all off to Amedeus, who is this episode's animator. How well that will work out is yet to be determined. I'll keep you updated, but, like I said, it likely won't get moving until at least December 15th.

Though maybe it's just getting like Xerox, Photoshop and Kleenex, where one brand name is turned into the adjective no matter the tool you use for it.

I am strongly against this. Specifically in the case of "Google," for obvious reasons.

I'm guilty of the Photoshop and Kleenex, but I have an excuse because those are actually what I use. If I use MS Paint, I do not say "Photoshop".

*edit* Also, when I saw the announcement about Petty, I immediately thought of how happy you'd be.

Good to know I've made an impression! :D

I've had three seperate people tell me, so far. But, of course, my mommy was the first. She left a voicemail at 11:30 this morning. smiley1.gif

Heeeeey, 'nervance. I wanted to answer your question in Wiz's journal whatever days ago about RvBTV, because I feel like leaking information because I'm a man.

Since TK isn't doing anything, Wiz is transferring animation to myself, and right now the whole thing's on hold until Wiz actually gives me all the materials I need to make it. So yeah. It's supposed to be happening anytime this month that he gets a chance. So expect it out sometime 2009.

There's a new Halo book out. Not done by Nylund, but almost as good, I think. "Contact Harvest"

I saw that in the local bookstore, the other day. I neglected to pick it up as I'm deep into the Ender saga. But I will definitely be getting it eventually.
