So I am, in fact, still quite alive, although I am really tired. I managed to get the final version of "Hell Hath No Fury" (my Super16 film noir) done, just in time to mail off to SXSW. By "just in time", I of course mean I was editing until 3:30 in the morning the night before it had to be postmarked and on its way to Austin. I actually considered just driving the damn thing down there if I didn’t get done in time. Thankfully, I did, so I just had to drive to the post office instead. So now we get to play the waiting game till February to see if I get in. Oh, and in an incredibly strange streak of weather, sleet actually fell from the sky in Texas today. For those of you who are not from here, this is an almost unheard of occurrence prior to the month of February. Anyway, I'll post more later when I am not so tired.

      Addendum:
Seeing Narnia in less that 23 hours. Aaaaawwwww yeaaaahhhhh.

So on Friday one of my friends finally convinced me to pick up World of Warcraft. "What the heck?", I thought, "It's on sale, and might play it a few hours a week. I was wrong. WoW has eaten my weekend and its hunger shows no signs of abating. Help. Please.

If this movie is showing near you, get out and see it ASAP. I just got back from the local preview screening, and I really got a kick out of this film. The best way I can describe it is a "post modern thinking man's buddy action neo-noir†Seriously, it's a brilliant film. The dialogue is some of the funniest, most perfectly delivered material I have seen in any film of late. This is definitely in my top 10 of the year.

See if it is playing near you

Sorry for all the posts, but this is the last one I swear. So I just got an iPod last week, and am in the long process of putting all my cds on the thing. At the same time, I would like to get some good podcasts to listen to while I am not blasting SRV or Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries. Anyone have any recommendations? Any really good shows that y'all know of?

Note: If you don't know or care about the Dark Tower series please disregard this journal. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. We now return you to your regularly scheduled website.

This could be really cool. As a filmmaker, I love well-done comics. They are like the greatest storyboards you could ever draw; capturing that perfect moment, when the action is at its most dramatic visually.

This is getting a tad ridiculous. It is November 7th and it is still over 80 freakin' degrees outside. I should not be able to wear shorts this time of year.

    • Target, Star Wars, and Jones Soda

So I went to Target this evening when I got off of work to pick up Episode III on DVD. They were offering it for the cheapest price, plus the money doesn't go to Wal-Mart, which made it worth the five minute extra drive. While I was there I noticed that they had the Jones Halloween soda on clearance for .79 a 4 pack, so I picked up a couple packs of each of these.

I go to pay for my items, and what do I see at the start of the check out line?

      6114uk.jpg

Yes, that's right. The Jones 2005 Holiday Gift Pack. With such delicious flavors as:
      Turkey & Gravy
      Wild Herb Stuffing
      Brussel Sprouts
      Cranberry
      Pumpkin Pie

So naturally I had to try this. I'll let y'all know how it is.

Also, it has come to my attention that when we jumped back in time, I lost the journal that contained a link to a local lawn mowing service in my neck of the woods. I simple couldn't let such an atrocity against the English language slip quietly into the night. So, once again, here is the link. Y'all have got to check this out.

So I noticed that on your book list is Rebel without a crew, but now Rodriguiez movies in you fav movie list. Do you like any of his stuff, or just his approach to filmmaking? And is it just me, or does he make everything into a trilogy?
