If you are someone interested in racing games, namely simulators like Gran Turismo or Forza, then F1: 2010 is the next step for you. Street Dated for 21 September 2010, F1 from Codemasters, the developer behind GRID and DIRT, will bring about an entirely new level of racing game to the market. Codemasters fans will be familiar with the physics and AI engines used in past games, one that was already impressive in it's past iterations, which has been updated yet again for F1: 2010. Of course, F1 will not skimp on the visuals. If you thought Forza 3 was impressive, prepare to be astounded again. If you don't to wait for the release day to see the game yourself, you can easily find a number of videos of the game online. There will be several videos posted at the end. Along with these stunning visuals that we've come to expect, F1: 2010 brings with it something very new indeed; the most complex weather system in any game released yet, for that extra bit of necessary reality and uncertainty that fans know well.

We strongly believe that the dynamic weather system in F1 2010 is the most advanced ever seen in a game. Not only does it look great but it will also have an effect on the way your car handles, the AI and of course your race strategy.

The weather system feeds into our Active Track Technology, which means that the track knows how much grip there is every 30cm squared. The same is true for the amount of water on the track. That means that there isn’t just a uniform amount of grip around the entire circuit. If it starts to dry up then you will see a definite drying line being created as the cars displace the water. You’ll then overheat your tyres if you stick on this dry line while on wets, so have to decide whether you need to pit or whether you will just use puddles off the line to cool the tyres in an effort to nurse them to the end.

      - Andy Gray, Codemasters, via TVGB

Regardless of whether you intend on buying F1: 2010 for the 360 or PS3, this thread can be dedicated to discussing the game itself, and for setting up online matches for anyone interested.

You can check out the Official Site here, or do any amount of Googling to find out more info. Be sure to check out the Developer Diaries.

The TT has been home for a week or so now, and everything has been sorted out by State Farm, We had to pay the deductible, but it has already been returned. I'm free to post the pictures of the wreck, but they're on Heather's compy, so that will come later. In the meantime, we took a few pics at a neat park near our house.

Also, Heather got me some awesome new floor mats to replace my 10 year old, salt-encrusted, worn-through ones. They're the OE mats from the Mk.2 TT, but they fit in the Mk.1 with just a tiny bit of modification, and look really good. They're also super soft, and have a cool TT logo on them.

      Pics Ahead.

Hey! I'll be back before you know it! You'll be working and not even realize it til you get home. Then it'll just be like always. I'll forget to unlock the big lock that doesn't have a key, so you'll try to call me but I'll be in the shower or something and then I'll finally unlock it and I'll manage to unintentionally injure you. Just like any other day.

      I love you.

Well I didn't have as much time to play as I'd like, and I really don't play video games anymore so I'm a bit rusty. But I'm getting back into it. Had a few good games of swat too, but just as many bad lol.

And do you mean the sprint armor ability or the phone company?

Haha, too late now, the tires came in yesterday, haha. I figure by hard, you mean that the sidewalls are stiff? I am used to that for the most part, since I will be coming from Nitto NT05's. I just hope these bishes last more than 12k miles...

that would be bad ass, but, that still wouldnt equal the value of how much i got back.

You should know that the exhaust on the third one you linked me too does not have a stock exhaust. Not sure how much of a big deal that is to you, but I will tell you that on my 924S, it did not have a stock exhaust, and as such it was made of a poorer grade steel. It rusted and deteriorated to the point that it literally fell apart underneath the car. If you are interested in that one, make sure to check that out.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. The silver one looks to have had done recently all the normal stuff that goes wrong. The price does seem a little low, but I suppose it's just possible they don't know what they could potentially be selling for. They all look remarkably clean, and you would probably be fine with any of them. No matter what though, go ahead and plan to pay another thousand on stuff you might have to do with it. One slight concern I have is that none of them have any pictures of the engine bay.

You should know - the Turbo S, starting in 1988, got a substantial power hike. Like from 220 to almost 250. However, there is no shortage of chips and such that you can get (regardless of model year) to increase power, without having to really do anything else, and I think the S would net significantly more price. Not sure that is really a concern for you. I don't think it really should be.

Phew. That's a matter of personal taste, what you will be using it for, and a bit about budget. Obviously, maintenance on a Turbo is going to be a little more expensive, should you need work on the actual turbo. You know - just one more thing to go wrong. Though they're pretty bulletproof for the most part.

I can tell you after driving my Turbo for a few weeks, compared to the 924S (essentially a normal 944) for the last few weeks, I enjoy it much more. Having the Turbo whine, the extra performance, the lag, and the nicer interior... yeah, there are aspects to the other that I enjoy, but those are actually aspects respective to the 924. Given the option between a 944 in perfect condition or a 951 in slightly lesser, but still solid shape, I'd take the 951 every time.
Keeping in mind, you would enjoy the hell out of a 944, for sure. Either way, they handle like practically nothing else on the road. Even with your 4wd in the TT, they would make it will feel heavy and sluggish in comparison. They work quite well as daily drivers, believe it or not, and probably even have more trunk space than your TT. The 944 family is probably one of the most versatile cars made in the last thirty years, when it comes down to it.
      (But yeah, get a Turbo. smiley8.gif )

Dude, I would trade out a TT for something in as good condition as you're explaining, regardless.
11K is a little steep, even for one with miles that low, and in that condition, however. A Turbo could fetch that much, easy, but a normal 944? Eh... Maybe. I would like to see it. Linky?
I'm excited for you, even though I just got a new one! Do it! Doooooo eeet!

I don't know anything about Lindsey racing. What I do know about Porsches is that there is a neverending community for them, and no shortage of parts, no matter what model or year. I would recommend joining the PCA, as it is very easy to network with other owners and parts suppliers.

The one you are looking at looks ok at first glance. Not great, but ok. The price is about right. A couple things you need to check on - last time the water pump and timing belt were done. They eat oil - I would have the oil done at the same time as the water pump and timing belt, if they haven't been done recently. That's easily another 1000. Make sure the odometer is not broken, and see if it ever has been. Pretty common. Both of mine had a really loose shift lever when I got them, which is a relatively easy fix, but still not the cheapest. Nothing will be cheap, but you're used to that. Parts are typically not horribly expensive, but labor gets you, as you know. Creating a track car can become very expensive, very fast. I imagine before you know it, you could easily spend 10K to have something top of the line.

As a normal daily driver, aside from running on 93, it's actually pretty cheap to run, and always a pleasure.
Keep talking to me. I can find out practically anything you need to know. smiley1.gif

It's a brilliant car, and as long as you are willing to pay the money for the upkeep, they are just about bulletproof. Great for long hauls, great for around town. Very comfortable, and excellent performance. And of course, they're gorgeous. For the price, there is very little on the road that is a better bargain.
The upkeep will be expensive, but I can't imagine it would be any worse than your Audi. Great great car. I might have gone for one myself, but it was a little out of my budget (a good example I would expect you could find around $10Kish), and it's almost impossible to find one that is a manual.

EDIT: Great site to read up on what owners have had to say. For any car, really.

i would just go to DSS Racing and get a engine, or at least a short block, from there. they build great stuff. or if you really want to go all out on a 4.6 go to Sean Hyland. hes the mod motor master, but you pay for it.

and dont you just love these expensive plans? lol
