Ah, yeah. No, the one that came with the game was too low poly for the visor, and as such was way to pixelly. I custom made much higher resolution normal map just for the visor. Not quite done with it, but almost.

And by create normal map, I of course mean create greyscale map and use PS extentions to convert it into a normal map.

    • Shrew

What do you mean? There was a normal map for the armor in the beta, the file was ripped directly from there... just like the rest of them. At least, I think. I didn't do that actual ripping, my maps and models are all second hand except the ones I made myself, but I'm assuming that's where it came from.

Unless you mean the HiRes normal map that is attached to the visor, in which case, that one was custom made. And it's still WIP, cause I'm going to redo parts of it.

Yo... joining Mafia round 14? I thought I'd put the word out a bit.

...obviously, only if you can be properly active in the game, we're not needing to make up numbers or anything.

Ah, yeah I see what your saying.

I'd like to point out to Christians though..>> that even when Christianity started spreading during the Roman times...that it was still manly-er XD to sleep with another man, than with a woman *shrugs*

    • Ados_Jass

While I can see what your saying, it says nothing in the bible about who can get married and who can't. I believe it even says in the bible that in "God's eyes, everyone is equal". I just find it to be a silly excuse, but then again, my whole journal is my opinion :3..with some facts of course XD

      She's not community manager anymore?
      BAH!
      Does she still work there?

I was discussing the possibility of some Machinima promotional material for the game nearing the games actual release at Comic Con. I was talking with several people there... she said to email her and she would get us into the Friends and Family pre-beta to start testing shit and they liked the idea of it.

      This kinda kills things...

      Awesome!

Unfortunatly the games industry isn't very big over here (Australia), so it will be difficult to get a job here without a really awesome showcase.

I'm currently in the beginnging stages of creating a DirectX10 engine from scratch. I plan to use it to make a few indie games for my showcase/portfolio. I just wish I had more time to spend on it...

The 1st person camera for combat is a good idea. You just gotta make sure the 3rd person camera never sticks in ridiculous places like in some other platformers.

    • Machine_1989

The 1st story seems okay, but I don't like the 2nd, it doens't really make sense.
I dont like platformers (can't stand the camera) but thats just me.
But if you can implement the camera very well, then you will have a really cool game.

Being a wannabe game developer myself, I think it's great that you want to undertake a task as awesome as this. Respect.

Subject: Please help support me in this

On Saturday, October 18th, 2008, I will be be participating in Extra Life: a 24-hour gaming marathon to fund pediatric cancer research and treatment. This event is a SarcasticGamer.com community charity event.

The money raised, every penny of it, will go directly to benefit pediatric cancer treatment and research at Texas Children’s Cancer Center at Texas Children’s Hospital. Texas Children's is one of the largest pediatric cancer and hematology centers in the world, and sees kids from all 50 states and over 80 countries. Every child gets the same ground-breaking treatment, regardless of their family’s financial situation.

Cancer kills a classroom full of kids every day worldwide. It takes kids from all walks of life, and respects no borders. Cancer doesn’t care about ethnicity or religion. It doesn’t care if a child is from privilege or poverty.

To learn more about this event, visit the Extra Life web site. I also invite you to visit my fundraising page:
      www.extralife.sarcasticgamer.com
      waystogive.texaschildrens.org/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=210&srcid=211&frsid=1052

Each gamer has a set goal to get at least 4 people to sponsor us for just $1/hour for 24 hours. I ask you to consider making a gift to help me achieve this goal. I want this year to be a tremendous success and we need your help to achieve it. I will gratefully accept any donation you are able to make, big or small. All donations are tax-deductible. Click here to make a donation.

I believe this is something the whole RvB community can get behind to make a rea differance.
It would be awesome to see you support this -

Thank you for your consideration in making a contribution to support the Texas Children's Cancer Center. Your donation is a part of great things to come.

      Sincerely,
      Ian Crane

Yeah, twice. Then we tried taking out one stick, then swapping them, then no memory. There's a very specific beep code for memory errors, which it didn't make, so it's not even getting that far.

I did answer. The chassis has a speaker for POST beeps, but no matter which way it's connected, there are no beeps. I even attached the one from my old chassis, to no avail.

      In reply to fritzmonkey, #5:

DVI, yeah. Tried in both slots (at my Mum's insistence) but it was in the right one to start with... Funny thing, actually, since making this entry, we've gradually stripped it down one component at a time, trying the front speaker connected both ways round, until it's just CPU and GPU on the board... and still, it won't make any sound. No beeps. That has us confused to frell, so it does.
