So Ive been working a lot lately now. This last week I worked nearly 80 hours, so basically Ive been tired every day after coming home from a 12 hour shift every night. Good news is my next paycheck should be nearly 1300 dollars after taxes. By the end of the summer I hope to have enough cash to pull a scrooge mcduck and be able to fill my room with enough money to swim in.

But anyway, this is the first night Ive had off since may 27th. This week Im working day shift, so that should be nice. But besides that, I spent my day off mostly sleeping after working 14 hours last night, then went to the movies with my gf and some of her friends. We saw the Hangover, and I have to say, it is one of the funniest movie that I have ever seen, and possibly the funniest. So if you havent seen it, then go see it.

Is a freakin celebrity. Haha, not really. Her picture was in the newspaper though, and a close up of her from her graduation was on the front page of the newspapers website. Heres the full size picture. Shes the blonde one in the middle looking up in the air. Now that I think of it, Im in this picure too. You wont find me though. Im sitting in the audience, in the section under the orange banner in the background.

I worked for the first time last night. From 11 pm to 6:30 am. Terrible hours. And I worked less because I had to go to the graduation. My normal hours will be...7pm to 630 am. No days off either...this is gonna be rough. Fortunately a piece of machinery broke down today and I didnt have to work, and wont till at least monday. So I decided to take my girl to an arena football game. Fairbanks Grizzlies vs Alaska Wild. Grizzlies won, yay! After that we went and got milkshakes, got a movie and came to my hours. She is now laying next to me sleeping as I type this.

      And that was my day.

So I had a pretty good birthday Monday. Slept in till noon, then went and got my girlfriend. We got lunch, then went to the store and while walking around the shoe section, I randomly decided I wanted new shoes. So I got a pair of Chucks low tops. Ive had about 3 pairs of hi tops in the past and didnt really like them that much, but I like these a lot. Lot easier to put on then the hi tops.

After that I went home. Opened some mail I got. Got $120 from relatives, plus $75 in gift certificates to Chevron. After a while my gf and her parents came over. Had dinner, had cake, opened presents. Got stuff from the store at uaf from my parents. And a shirt and lego set from my gfs parents. Also, my gf made me a cake. Green Bay Packers was the theme of the cake.

Tomorrow, my gf graduates from high school so I'll be going to that. Sunday her mom graduated from college and I went to that as well. Also I might be starting my job tomorrow night. Im a little freaked out to hear that I might be working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week, but oh well.

So I got a job today, and I am really happy. Been searching for a job for over a month. And after all that, my uncle was able to get me a job with construction company he works for. Theyre going to be making a runway at the airport here in Fairbanks this summer, and my job will be checking people driving into the airport for authorization badges to be there. Went down to the airport police station today and got finger printed and after watching a video took a test on airport safety. Should be a good job, plus the pay is great. $13 an hour.

This is especially good since I plan to move out of my parents home and get an apartment with my girlfriend at the end of the summer.

I start tuesday. Monday is my birthday by the way.

16 Sun, Dec. 27 vs. Seattle Seahawks FOX 1 p.m.
17 Sun, Jan. 3 at Arizona Cardinals FOX 4:15 p.m

According to nfl.com, we have the 3rd easiest schedule in the NFL, but we have a tough time late in the season with 4 of the last 6 games on the road, including games in Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Arizona. I like the bye at week 5 so there are still kinks in the 3-4 that need working out it can be done then. And after the Thanksgiving day game there isnt another game till the Monday nighter against Baltimore, 11 days later, so everyone should be well rested for that game. Another positive is that if the Williams wall ends up getting suspended for 4 games, then that will make things easier for the offensive line in week 4.

Ok, so I just got home from a hockey game. I know most people wouldnt care about College Hockey, but that was a hell of a game. My team, the UAF Nanooks beat the Ohio State Buckeyes in this round of the CCHA playoffs. I went to the game friday, UAF won 4-0. Yesterday, Ohio State won 4-2, fording them to play another game tonight to break the tie. And tonight the Nanooks won 1-0 on a goal that came with just 50 seconds left in the 3rd period. Probably the most intense game Ive been to.

But anyway, another reason it was so awesome was UAF's goalie, Chad Johnson. He is probably the best goalie in college hockey. Tonight he blocked all of Ohio's 40 shots on goal, and was the game MVP (was the game MVP on Friday to, blocking all of the Buckeyes 28 shots).

      Chad Johnson, UAF #30.

What do you think needs to be done about it? What do you think about whats been done about it so far? Whatever you wanna say about the defense, say it here.
Heres the list of the new defensive coaches, just in case nobody's seen it yet.

      Dom Capers- Defensive Coordinator
      Mike Trgovac- Defensive Line
      Kevin Greene- Outside Linebackers
      Scott McCurley- Defensive Quality Control
      Darren Perry- Safeties Coach
      Joe Whitt Jr.- Cornerback Coach

I think that's all of them. I'm pretty excited about Capers bringing in the 3-4, but we have got to get some new players that will be able to work well in the new system, and knowing Ted hes going to rely more on the draft then free agency to do that. So who should the Packers get with the number 9 pick?

Who aced there midterm? Kyle aced his midterm!

In my history class, which before this midterm I had a 50% because I did absolutely nothing in that class till it came time to study my ass for the hardest test of my life. Heres just a sample question from my study sheet....

      - Compare and contrast the ideologies and philosophies of what we are calling "liberalism" and "nationalism". In particular examine the arguments of Francis Fukuyama and Samuel Huntington, with the following quotation as your starting point: "For Fukuyama, the mainspring of history is the liberal yearning for equal recognition. Hunting gruffly retorts, "it is human to hate." Humans require identity, and they acquire it, says Huntington, through the enemies they choose.

So because this test was 35% of my grade, I now have an 85% in the class. Yay, I dont have to drop this class I spent $300 on....needless to say I will now pay attention in class and read the material instead of waiting till the last minute.

so what do you think of favre retiring, someone on ESPN radio a few nights ago was saying how long do you think packer fans need to take to push the hard feelings away and let him retire his #. i would say at least 1 year of him not playing

    • tophermist

Well john ryan wasn't a great punt either trading him for frost was a little better. but hell i could be a better punter and i'm like 14

    • tophermist

ppl keep on blaming aaron rodgers for the loses yes he did throw int in the 4th quarter but so did favre and those wouldn't matter if our defence can stop them. but we need to find a punter who can punt it at least 50 yrds
