      Hey everyone. Been a while. Been a long while. I haven't even hit up the teamy-speaky in forever. I'm super out of touch with most of you, and I wanna change that.

      And I'm doing it with the glorious quest for the seal of awesomesauce. Kinda.


      I'm using those old stories as a jumping-off point. Basic premise, character ideas, stuff like that.

      Uh, so huge update because I'm awful at updating on RT these days:

      - I got a full-time job as an environmental field technician with August Mack Environmental

      - I start on Tuesday

      - I'm moving to Lancaster, PA for the new job

      - I miraculously went down there yesterday to apartment hunt and was able to sign a lease and get a key this morning

      - Things are crazy, but in a good way I guess

      2. That is also a title meant to show that I'm finally, after 135 emails and four months of searching, interviewing at not ONE but TWO places next week. Anyone in Lancaster, PA or Annapolis, MD wanna grab a cup of coffee next week, gimme a holler.

      I think I'm having some kind of crisis. Or maybe that's too stong a word. I dunno. I'm having trouble figuring stuff out, is all. It seems my 2-year disconnect has reared its ugly head in that I don't really feel like part of any groups anymore. I've hopped on Teampeak a few times, but I'm not up to date on anybody and I just end up annoying half the room and leaving. I've gotten in like 5 arguments with friends on twitter for pretty much no reason. I don't know, I just suck at being a friend, I guess. It's this weird feeling that I'm in a group of people with whom I think I fit in, but I still feel like an outsider, and I always choose the wrong way to try to get attention, then doubt myself and feel like I'm being a jerk.


      So I want you guys to know that if I've been a dick, I'm sorry. I just gotta work some suff out, I hope you can all manage to tolerate me until I get my shit together.

      I don't know quite what. I've got a lotta free time since I only work part time. I spend about 3 hours a day doing job-relevant stuff (applying or doing certification stuffs), but I kinda feel the need to do some sort of creative thing. I don't know what I should do, though. All the writing stuff tends to break down after a little while (see journal quests, twelve groups with the word "glowden" at the beginning) but I'm not much for other talents. Play ukulele a bit, but nothing great. No drawing ability to speak of. Gaming is pretty much nonexistent, don't even have phone games. I need some sort of outlet, I'm driving myself crazy, feeling like I'm not doing anything productive ever.


      I dunno. This is mostly just an inconsequential rant, don't read too much into it.

      I realize I've been distant from pretty much everyone for a while, and I want to rectify that. I can blame it on not having the same games as everyone, but honestly I've just been bad at keeping up with people. Thankfully I was able to get into the annual secret snowman, and that reminded me that I should really hop onto teamspeak more often. Hopefully I'll see you all there & we can have some chats and a rompin' good time.

      Didi and I broke up. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do now.

      Just so people know, it was amicable. We're both hurting, and we're still talking, helping each other through it. We just couldn't figure out how to make it work long-term, I guess life caught up.

      Well on Wednesday I presented the last of my work for my master of science in environmental studies. Time for debt and job searching! I'm looking to move near to DC and get a job around there, in part because that's where a lot of environmental jobs are, and in part because I'll soon have a very compelling reason to be in that area. I've only told a few people about it so far, but my girlfriend has been awarded a Fulbright scholarship and will be getting a master's of her own in DC! Which means I get to see a lot more of her, starting next week!
