Seafair (basically, the summer season of sports--wow alliteration) in Seattle has something special. The Seafair Pirates. They're doctors, lawyers, businessmen from all around the area and have been around for at least 30 years (side note, I used to hate them because they run their swords on the ground during parades to make sparks, and as a small child, this isn't as cool as it is later in life).

The have a "ship" named the Moby Duck.

The top news story last night was "The pirates get Plundered"

I don't know if anyone else has scrap metal thieves as rampant and wild as we do, but someone stole the solid steal tubing off the side of Moby Duck.

Anywho. I just thought that it was funny that the pirates got pirated.

I lost my phone in August. For no reason other than, I was stupid enough to, well, sleep throw it.

I called the insurance company, and made a claim justifying this, and they sent me a shiny new one.

Unfortunately, I have T-Mobile's wonderful "MyFaves" plan. I absolutely love this plan. Or I would... if the people I talk to the most were able to be CHANGED.

The version of the phone that the insurance company sent me is NOT compatible with this plan. I've been making do. I literally JUST found out that the reason I've used more minutes this month is because T-Mobile is having trouble sending me the "confirmation message" from when I told them to change two of the previous numbers listed to numbers for those two people which are actually, now, currently in service. The old numbers... are not.

I haven't received the confirmation message because, well, simply put, this phone is retarded and does not HAVE MyFaves.

A little more on the insurance company and me "making do". RIGHT after I got the phone, I had to go to T-Mobile and get a new sim card. Asurion, the company, did not include one, even though my claim was for a LOST phone. Seriously. Did they think that I took it OUT of the phone prior to losing it?
Anyways. After getting the sim card in, I turned it on and QUICKLY realized that I did not have MyFaves capability. So I called the insurance company. The guy I talked to told me that it was indeed their mistake and that he would make sure they sent me a new phone "within the next two days". I'm almost certain that I posted the conversation on here.

It's now been two months, and that phone still has yet to show up.

If T-Mobile makes me buy a new phone, I'm NOT getting another RAZR.

Heavener Photographics

I has website. Finally.

(edit: most of this next paragraph is bullshit now that I've fixed the site.)

Unfortunately, there are some major problems that I have with it. It's simple (which works for it, but is still UGLY). It's too white, and the columns thing? I want three, not two... but my dad helped me by doing this one for me. Basically, I'm going to work on it. MAJOR work is going to go into it before I stop stealing bandwidth and webspace from my dad and get a domain all my own. I'm thinking "heavenerphotographics.com", since that's my business's name(note to self: get business license when I again have money) but whenever I think of that, I THEN think "That's too fucking long of a domain for a website that I'm going to be sending clients to".
So, that's why I haven't yet gotten a website.

Wait, what?

• I have lost all sense of days.

h2ph

Without a job, or much of anything to DO, I have forgotten the days of the month as they come.

Today, I realized that in my endless napping and watching tv, I missed the most important day of the year.

International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Yes, I know. Horrific. Although I only missed it by a day, I still missed it.

On a lighter note, a friend of mine has offered me a job. It's part-time, but it'll lessen the strain on my non-existent fundage.

• I'm getting married.

h2ph

Sometime in the future... Eventually.
You know, or not?

Honestly, I could care less. I mean, yeah. I want to have the pretty day where I wear the pretty dress (and yes, I'm going to wear a white one, even though the meaning behind it isn't exactly true. Sue me, I'm a liar when it comes to my parents).

I've been thinking about this a lot. Weddings. Marriage. Relationships in general.

Is it wrong that I want a wedding, to be princess for a day, but then afterwards I don't want to be married? I don't want to be stuck with one person "till death do us part". I mean, I got bored before hitting the 5 month mark on my one and only relationship. I can't imagine pledging my LIFE to one person when I couldn't even keep my eyes to myself at 5 months.

I don't want any of that. I want the one day. The day where people bring me presents and wish me luck. The day where I get to dress pretty, and get up in front of everybody I know (and a few I don't know), and... I don't even know.

When I was in 9th grade, we had to do a project where we thought long and hard about where we thought we'd be in ten years. Being that I'm two years away from that (9th grade ended in 1999), I've been thinking about how wrong I am, so far. My treatment had me married by now (although, if the me of now had known the me of then, I would have laughed at how stupidly YOUNG I had myself getting married, then I would smack some sense into myself about things which would be happening a year later).

This is possibly the most disjointed journal that I've ever posted. Maybe not though. That would require me to go through like... 500-something journals and read back through them.

• Are you afraid of the dark?

h2ph

I am, but that's not the point.

Recently, I've been watching this show (from Nickelodeon, circa 1991-1994, with a reprise in 1999).

The older episodes are incredibly cheesy, but I forgot how much I loved how you get a scare. Not the gory "everybody dies" type, like is so popular in Hollywood, but the more subtle "someone might be dead but they don't know it" scare, which inspired The Sixth Sense (episode "The Dream Girl". M. Night Shyamalan has said he got the inspiration from it).

And the best part is that it's all wrapped up tight in a neat little bow by the end of the half hour (24 minutes, really. Had to leave room for commercials).

If you don't know this show, Wiki it.

One of the recurring guest stars (she appeared twice, so I guess it's not "recurring" so much as... well, twice) is Jewel Staite who went on to play Kaylee on Firefly and Serenity.

Anyways. In watching this show lately, I've come to realize that the creepiest part of the entire thing is the opening sequence. It's very stylized, dark and lonely feeling. I remember never liking it, and always trying to come into the show (when it was still running) immediately AFTER this part. But I do appreciate the fact that it gets you into a mindset to be creeped out.

• I'd be playing Sims 2 right now...

if I wasn't letting my dad use my computer simply for it's Photoshop.

Also, he's getting himself CS3. How jealous am I? TOTALLY jealous. Because I use Camera Raw in Bridge as often as I use Bridge (and have raw images to work with, of course), and CS3... you can use Camera Raw in Bridge with jpgs. And Tiffs. I am jealous.

Course, he did JUST buy me CS2 (in January, but who's counting?), so I guess I can't feel too bad. He only has version 6.

I hate living with people who don't know the rules of my cat and my sleep.

My dogs just sleep anywhere I go. I miss my cat.
I'm actually really curious to know your cat rules for some reason...

But I think I'll have to save that for tomorrow. I'm going to go force myself to sleep.
You should try to head back to bed too, holmes.

Good night (again).

disturbed by the scary British children in Harry Potter?

Haha. We actually didnt even go.We took to long to eat. And I didnt want to go to the 3:00 am showing.

The sun is here, damnit. I hate trying to fall asleep when it's twilight out.
Why are you up so early?

We can argue about why I can't sleep.

I bet your IHOPs are probably better somehow anyway.

Its time for me to head to town. Hope you have an awesome rest of the night. And a great day tomorrow.

Haha. Didnt mean to put the pressure on.
I'd most likely be very focused on my pancakes anyway.

Sounds good, when should we go to IHOP together?

How about after my movie? Say 3 hours?

• MightyJ

I would have thought of you, had I known.

Wow, I love IHOP. There will be another time, you're totally allowed to think about me next time.

OR you could come eat at one the many IHOPs in my city. Then we could think about eachother together.

How crazy would that shiEt be?

• MightyJ

I learned it from Stewie on Family Guy.

I suppose I used it in a bit of the wrong way...

Wow...
Thanks for fixing that for me. I should probably just go to bed. I can't even form a cogent correction anymore.

Explain to me why you picked blue?

I can't believe you picked up on that!

I used blue because I was blue about not being able to use colors. This is 100% true. I even shyed away from my favorite color... green. All for that sybolism.

• MightyJ

No need to get all huffy, darlin'. haha.

I was just saying. I can type in cool colors, and you... cannot.

But I can still do the code to make me feel better about myself

• MightyJ

Am I allowed to point out that you did it as well?

The only reason I mentioned it was because I've done it like 10 times just tonight...
I didnt even notice if you did.

Sure you can make your regular text orange... but I meant the branding text is stuck at a forever blissful red.

• MightyJ

And that, my friend, is why I can deal with the branding.

I wish the edit text was orange... Then I'd sponsor.

But then you wouldn't like being branded... And I'd feel like a huge jerk.

By the way: I know starting a sentence with "and" is a no no. I just let it slide.

• MightyJ

Thank god I have a shiny new edit button to fix those things in my posts/comments/ramblings.

Yeah, but then you get branded with a nasty one of these: Post edited 11/18/05 10:05PM In this very nice shade of red.

It almosts matches the popsicles you love so much.

No body wants to face the penguins in tennis.

p.s. I'm watching you now.

• MightyJ

I would hope that the penguin isn't your favorite sky-type animal.

It is. They make it in the sky for like 5 seconds. I've seen footage on national geographic! Thats all they need in my opinion. Plus with earth being 2/3 ocean. Who needs flying? Swimming skills will get you far in this world. They're like bullets in the water.

Hehe. The last week that the site was on version 1, some of my friends revealed how to do it. If you typed in the addfriend.php? bit in the url, and put in your username with funny capitals, it wouldn't realize it was you, and would send the friend request. Now that they do it with numbers, it will no longer work.
