I know I've been super annoying awesome with all my journal posts lately, so here's another one!!

This is my friend Tristan, who loves Red vs Blue - and now the RT Shorts, through my influence... and Balls 2 That... and everything else.

I've been bugging him for weeks to get an RT account, AND NOW HE HAS ONE.

So go give him some lovin' - and tell him Indie sent you!!

But be gentle... he hasn't figured out everything on the site yet. smiley6.gif

      I love this piece.

      Actually, this time, it was.

I went to Dick Smith today in search of a camera for RTX - and I got one, it's bright fucking orange, I named it Grif - and on my long search for the camera section, I came across the wireless mouse section. Naturally, the pink-and-black one caught my eye... pink, girlishly enough, being my favourite colour.
It was a black mouse with these... pink.. stripes? I dunno, pink sections. HOT pink. Unmistakably, unmissable, very much noticeable, pink.

And I looked at the label...

      "MOUSE BLACK / RED"

Well played, universe. Well played. smiley13.gif

I told myself I only wanted to watch the royal wedding so I could see Kate's wedding dress.

I told myself everyone else was crazy for getting so excited to see the actual wedding.

And that I was perfectly happy watching Dawson's Creek instead.

      I lied.

      I LOVE WEDDINGS.

And I don't care who knows it.

PS. Her dress was phenomenal. Also, I giggled so much when the priest was reminding them that the original purpose of marriage was to continue makind. He wants them to make babies. Teehee.

I've been craving chocolate for about 4 hours.

And then, I remembered I still had the J and L left from my Joel Easter cookies, which my Mum moved to the biscuit tin for some reason.

      AND THE J WAS GONE.
      THE FUCKERS ATE JOEL.

So now I just have the L, and it's not even a capital letter.

lol, it wasn't fun really. However it was rewarding to see the look on my Uncle's face when I was finally done with all of it as he was just ecstatic.

Haha, I shall accept the aforementioned uploaded picture.

Well, nothing too exciting today I'm afraid. I spent most of the day over at my Godfather's office (he works and helps run a Wine Tasting and Tourism magazine) helping him out with a couple of clerical tasks. Nothing thrilling and somewhat tedious but I didn't care as it was helping his business so I spent a few hours plugging away at it. All I had to do was write down the location and contact information Vineyards/Wineries after having ranked their website designs out of 10. Then all of that information was sent off to other company's that work with my Uncle's magazine so I had a Zoidberg moment. smiley6.gif
Now if only I got paid for it.

Aside from that, I went out to dinner to celebrate my Aunt's 46th birthday with my Cousins, my Uncle and extended family. Which ended up being good fun for me as I was just chatting with my Godfather, my Aunt's mother and her husband for most of the night about subjects ranging from Film to Daniel Ellsberg to Watergate to Historical Presidential Figures.
However at the end of the night there was one thing that was hilarious! My Aunt got a trivia book from her brother and we started having fun with that. I asked them to name the characters and actors from the television show "Friends". They struggled so hard with it, I know you would have been in tears if you were there! I actually did a Double Facepalm when they were trying to remember Ross' name.
      "Raus?"
      "Russell?"
      "Russ?"

lol, oh man. How was your day? smiley6.gif

Yeah, well, you know, after so many years of High-School everyone learns how to deal with crowds but given the right circumstances they can quite easily get on your nerve haha.

See, I'm the exact opposite. I always hope that it's going to be as hot as possible because I love heat and I'm actually pretty jealous of the weather you guys have been getting in the last couple of weeks despite it reaching up through the 40s. It's constantly 16-25 degrees here despite being weather so I can't complain but I still just love the feel of the hot sun so even when the weather's nice here I'm still wishing I could just be hanging out in the sun, in the hammock. smiley6.gif
You know, I'm not surprised you say that you would like San Francisco. Personally, given that description I think you would absolutely love Seattle. That place has cold and rainy weather for, like, 9 months out of the year and then it's West Coast Indie central so you'd be able to find people with similar interests easily lol. I personally would consider moving there if it weren't for the wet weather heh.

      Yeah, I've noticed that too.
"See, Barry is an Orthodontist but he came dressed a Dentist."
They wouldn't put braces on me while I was still growing in height as they would have had to constantly adjust the braces and I guess it was just too much effort for them.
Haha, aside from that one tooth being a bit crooked, my only qualms with my set of teeth are the fact that the two same teeth disappear behind the lower set so I have the slightest of all underbites. smiley7.gif

    • nightwolf12 FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Haha, don't worry I do that a lot myself and constantly worry that, that's how the other person is perceiving the conversation so it's no big deal. smiley8.gif

I don't know, I think I preferred it with quick lines and fewer people. Sometimes crowds and kids can be a bit much for me. I was not doing well sensory-wise when I went over to the Chinese Theatre earlier in the week, all the noise, the people who were inconsiderate of what was in front of them as they walked by, the strangers who were dressed up in costume trying to get a quick buck despite not actually not being employed. Just a bit too much for me to deal with and actually enjoy the atmosphere. /rant

Ack, I cannot handle winter weather, that's one thing I like about California. More likely than not it's pretty warm no matter what season it's supposed to be haha. Unless you're in San Francisco in which case, bring a coat and wear it all year round! smiley4.gif

Hmm, I kept hearing from my Dentist and Orthodontist that I would get braces whenever I stopped growing. Each and every time I went there. When it came to Year 12 I was just like "It's either now or never." but then I heard the response
"Well, you still have 1% more to grow so we can't put braces on you now."
So I guess my two goofy front teeth are here to stay. smiley6.gif

Ugh, Jerry Espenson. He had his funny moments (from the clips I have seen) but that was the worst representation of Asperger's I have ever seen in the media. smiley4.gif
Abed on Community is awesome though! smiley6.gif
Yeah, it was pretty weird that the first shrink gave that advice. Too bad I didn't end up going to Eisenmajer first as he originally told me that had he met me when I was in Year 7 then he would have made those first two years a hell of a lot easier by making me do High-School Part Time. Ah well, woulda, shoulda, coulda right?

lol, yeah it would have. Luckily we had plenty of time to track her down as Disneyland isn't exactly busy on Tuesdays during Winter so we managed to get through the rides pretty quickly and suddenly found ourselves with about 4 hours to kill before the park closed haha.

Haha, oh man. So how long did you have braces for anyhow?

Aaaand the flood gates have now been opened. smiley6.gif

Heh, heh, yep I guess it was a good indication of the infamous awkward moments that Aspies are famous for haha.
Well, I was diagnosed in 2005 but I wasn't actually told (in fact I was the last to know) about it until 2007. I didn't cope with High-School very well, I had a couple of friends but still struggled with fitting in, I would frequently get frustrated at and by school. My school days usually just ended with me coming home, going into (what I recently recognisd were) a shutdown wherein I would sit on the floor, against the couch while balled up, stare at the floor and do nothing for times varying around 30 minutes to -on a few occasions- an hour and a half. So with the outbursts of frustration and isolating behaviour it wasn't long until my mother took me to a doctor to see what was up. We received a recommendation to go to a Psychiatrist who would perform a range of standardised tests (organising flash cards, hand writing skills, organising shapes using a series of red & white coloured cubes and some trivia questions) from the GP in 2005, I went along, did the tests and walked away with the fact that my mind had the General Knowledge capabilities for someone who should be 20. Plus I got a day away from school so that was a plus.
Meanwhile my mother had received a diagnosis of Moderate Asperger's Syndrome and the advice that the diagnosis should be kept from me. After a while my parents agreed that keeping the information wasn't helping things on my end so they took me to a well known Psychologist named Richard Eisenmajer who is pretty much the Guru for all things Autism Spectrum Disorder. I took the same test again in 2006, Richard concurred with the advice but wanted me to take the test again in a few months time. A few months later it was early 2007, I took the test again and demonstrated massive improvements all round which saw my "Moderate" classification taken down to "Mild". After that I sat down in Richard's office one day and, he came out with it in a very casual and flippant way. smiley6.gif

      lmao, I know right?
Well, I think the only real similarities we share are the facts that we can both look people in the eye and maintain a gaze but generally prefer to just let our vision wander as we're talking. Aside from that she was also quite knowledgeable but she had a few different traits from me. Her facial expressions were very limited, she would express happiness and glee when something evoked such things but casually her face was like a statue. Even though she was perfectly content with her surroundings, you'd think that something intense was going about in her head haha.
She also was a bit oblivious to where her friends were when browsing in stores. It wasn't intentional, she would just assume that we were right there with her and, so every 30 seconds her other friend and I had to look for where Gillian had wandered off to lol.

Haha, oh yeah. It kind of goes with atmospheric video games, you can't really play Grand Theft Auto IV with "Space Oddity" playing over it. Hearing David Bowie singing "Ground Control To Major Tom," just doesn't match up well to driving through the streets of New York while plowing through a crowd in a hijacked police cruiser. smiley6.gif
lol, I remember when my brother Dan got a retainer for a short while I asked him to say
"Silly Sally Stutters" to which he replied
      "I Hate You." smiley6.gif

Actually, I've only ever met one other person with Asperger's Syndrome and he gave a bad first impression for Aspies (This being someone who has an official diagnosis and is not my cousin). I actually met him before I found out that I had it back when I was in cadets; when he told me that he has "Aspergers" my friend and I raised an eyebrow. Later I turned to him and said
"Ass-Burgers? What kind dumb name for a disorder is that?"
So... If I ever successfully get my hands on a Time Machine, I owe Dr. Hans Asperger an apology. smiley4.gif

So it was very interesting to meet this new person. Her name is Gill, she's from Brazil (Tee-hee, rhymes!) and she learned English by watching The X-Files along with... Yep... Friends!
It was quite funny though, when she spoke English she had a thick American accent that you couldn't really place the origin of and her English was impeccable. Meanwhile her friend whom she was visiting still had a thick Brazilian accent but was on the same level of language fluency. Anywho, I'll stop rambling unless you ask to hear more. smiley6.gif

I did have an iPod but I couldn't efficiently read "The Rise and Fall of the Confederate Government" while listening to Mumford and Sons haha. If it were any other book then it would be no problem but Jefferson Davis' (The President of the American Confederacy during the Civil War) has a very dry and legalistic writing style so it requires a lot of focus. Focus which she was frustratingly taking away. I really just wanted to walk up to her and say
"She Sells Sea Shells Down By The Sea Shore."

I'm good thanks, I went to Disneyland yesterday and met up with a friend from Brazil who is also a fellow Aspie I met through a Facebook Asperger's Group. Which was both fun and very interesting.
Today I traveled 4 hours by train (which was actually quite nice due to the scenery but got kind of annoying due to a woman who spoke very loudly over her phone and had the most severe lisp you can imagine. Seriously she pronounced every "S" or "C" with a saliva filled "SH" sound) to get to Santa Barbara where my Godfather and his family lived. I drove around with one of my cousin's and just looked at how nice the area was. That's about it for me there haha. smiley6.gif

lol, well it wasn't that they were slow to catch on. It was just that they couldn't understand why I didn't select it again. Of course most of those people were from the other Drama class so they didn't see my horrible performances. smiley4.gif

I actually haven't seen those blogs before. The makeup job is superb but that guy's impression is... Well, it's how I would imagine Gary Oldman would sound if he tried to portray the Joker. The guy's gestures are correct but he's running the same kind of speech pattern in that video, there's no sudden outbreak of anger or rise and fall in pitch. It's a very limited mimic but a good one nonetheless.

I was actually the opposite way around for my Year 11 work. I scored higher on theory tests then I did when performing (where as the best actor in our class scored horribly on theory and got A's in every performance) but that was also due to a mixture of personal reasons. 2008 was not exactly the most stable year at home as my grandmother developed cancer and died so I just wasn't willing to put myself out there for most performances. Hence why I didn't follow through the next year which was funny as every person in my year level who took Drama was wondering where I was in 2009 lol. smiley4.gif

I can actually do some fun stuff when it comes to voice acting. I would always try to work it in whenever I got the chance, to the point that a friend and I did a routine where we both did imitations of Heath Ledger's Joker and scared the crap out of the class! smiley0.gif
Yeah, we did theatre conventions in year 11 and I just hated that with a passion. Especially Absurdist theatre.

Or like Jack's Horse from Red Dead Redemption. smiley4.gif

Actually, I think it's more like saying "It's not Pink! It's a Lightish Red!"

Huh, that certainly sounds like an interesting play. I took Drama in High-School but dropped it in Year 12 for literature which ended up being a bad move as there was a lot of voice acting work done that year and that's pretty much specialty when it comes to performing. I can sing sure, but I haven't done so in years and, I find doing doing impressions and alternate voices so much more fun. smiley6.gif

Equilibrium was awesome! I really want to watch that again as I haven't seen it in years!

lol, card pyramids can be quite frustrating to build. To be honest, I only ever finished one (It was 3 different decks of Cards piled into one massive pyramid) and it stood for about 3 seconds. Not long enough for the Camera to get it. smiley5.gif
When it comes to building Card Pyramids -and when I say that I mean whenever I'm bored enough to do it- I prefer to go with the philosophy of "Go Big or Go Home". smiley6.gif
Mind you, I haven't built one in yeeeeaaaaaaaarrrrssss

I'm pretty sure one of my cousin's has it as well although his official Diagnosis is "ADD Mixed with a Learning Disability" which is the biggest bullshit diagnosis I have ever heard. I got to hang out with the guy in 2009 and that guy has Severe Asperger's. Irritable when he's focused on something, very nice guy, has a great sense of humour (though he doesn't crack jokes very often), had no friends in high-school but was sociable with people he met over the internet and very specific interests in which he knows freaking everything about. The guy got into the 99th Percentile in the state of Michigan on a Social Studies test (funnily enough). But I'm rambling. Once again, aspieness. smiley6.gif

Heh, I imagine that kind of conversation would be very entertaining and bewildering to people listening in. smiley4.gif

Hmm, that sounds like an interesting play. What kind of role did you have in it?
If you do find it, I highly recommend it as John Elder Robison details some amazing stuff he's done over the years that gets you cackling madly. Here's a peek into one of his antics:
As a teen, he planted fireworks all around his yard on Halloween and concealed them in order to make them look like battlefield explosions when they went off. He specifically detonated them as Trick-Or-Treaters came to the front door to get candy to scare them off so he and his brother could keep all of their candy to themselves.

      You didn't like 1984? smiley3.gif
That's... I didn't even know that was possible... Okay, that pretty much confirms you as an eccentric. smiley6.gif
I bet you must hate V for Vendetta. smiley8.gif

Haha, damn straight it's an awesome ability! smiley6.gif

lol, well fair enough for you to recommend the books over the movie then. However, how would you define The Golden Compass/Northern Lights as a genre if I may ask?

Yes, "Aspieness", referring to me being an Aspie AKA Someone who has Asperger's Syndrome. Hence explaining as to why I'm such a geek and reminiscent of Chandler. smiley6.gif
Haha, I personally would love to see that train of thought explosion occur. I've had similar things happen where I'd be thinking to myself about something and then someone would suddenly ask me a question and I'd blurt out the last thing I was thinking about
      "Hey Sean, How's it going?"
"Seven- argh, no wait, I'm fine, thanks, shit, sorry!"

Ah well, to each their own. I'll just silently resent you for not being interested in such literary classics. Although "Look Me In The Eye" isn't really a literary classic as much as it is hilarious and a testament to how awesome the author is. smiley4.gif
I think you'd quite like Much Ado About Nothing. It's quite witty and its humour has certainly aged well over the years. Just... Stay away from Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation, for the love of God, stay away from it.
I had to read Much Ado About Nothing for my Year 12 Literature class and it actually led to some pretty funny moments. At one point the teacher asked the class as to what the character "Claudio" was referring to when he spoke of having
      "Soft and throbbing desires"
To which my friend, sitting next to me, answered back with
      "Tap That?"

That said... I freaking loathe Macbeth.

Well, I would have told you about my ability to make Poker Card Pyramids but I don't think that counts. smiley6.gif

      That I should!
Hmm, interesting book list there. I actually didn't see The Golden Compass as when I saw the trailer I thought it seemed like the film couldn't make up its mind as to whether or not it was a family adventure film or something that was supposed to be taken seriously. That and the fact that none of my friends were interested in seeing it as well. smiley6.gif

Heh, well I rant quite frequently in real life due to my aspieness so sometimes I just got nuts when I should really just keepy mouth shut haha! smiley8.gif

My current favourites? Probably "Look Me In The Eye" by John Elder Robison, along with On The Road and Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac... Oh, plus Much Ado About Nothing. That's all that comes to mind at the moment. smiley6.gif

      Hey,

Sorry I didn't get back to you last night. Long story short, I was falling asleep and could not multi-task to save my life haha.

Psychic Powers eh? Well, I should probably tell you that I can turn invisible... Except only when I'm naked and when no one's looking... You know, like that guy from that superheroes movie Mystery Men. It's kind of impractical really. smiley6.gif

Man, now that you mention it, I really need to update my favourite books list... And my favourite movies list. I haven't read anything by Matthew Reilly since 2007! smiley7.gif
I will forgo the fact that you like Twilight if you would kindly tell me the names of some of your other favourite books in order to appease my curiosity. smiley6.gif

Ah, see, I'm like Abed from Community. I naturally find myself associating everyone and everything with television or movie references. I usually don't label someone as a specific character but tell them how they remind me of a certain action or the behaviour of such a character.
As you can imagine, I'm quite a media critic. smiley0.gif
