    • I've been thinking...

      ... that I'm going to try to post something everyday on this site. If not everyday, as frequently as possible! Just little journals to ask what's up and tell you tidbits about what's going on in my life! If not a journal, then maybe some photography or photos of myself! Might as well start now, right?

      I hope you're all doing well! I know I am! These past two weeks, with the inclusion of this week, have been some of the best weeks of my entire life. I took my best friend on a vacation, stayed in the warm sun for 7 days, escaping the horrid cold of the northeast, (although it was 55 when we landed at JFK on saturday so!!) and got accepted into Temple University. When I got home, I just relaxed and listened to a bunch of my vinyl since I missed my record player.

      Now comes Monday, so far the best day of my week. I got accepted to Penn State University Park! I was ecstatic from this, absolutely over the moon. I got home, saw the mail, and jumped for joy with my acceptance letter in hand!

      After all this, I'm pretty sure one of my favorite bands just wanted me to stay over the moon. The 1975 announced fan listening parties all over the US and there's one in New York just thirty minutes away from me! After they announced this next part, I almost passed out. I wish I was kidding, too. Pop up store in the city! I can't even begin to express to you all how excited I am for this! I finally have a chance to meet this incredible band and there's no way I'm going to give up that opportunity!

      I hope you all have been having a good of time as I have, and better! If you haven't, though, I love you and it will get better! I'm always here for you all, please remember that! Write to me if you need! Much love to you all -

      Hey all! I just wanted to write on here to talk to some of you! I feel like I haven't been on here in so long and have missed out on talking to so many members in the community! Please, please, please feel free to drop me a message on here and talk to me, I'd love to talk to you all so much!

      I miss making friends on this site, so I'd love to talk to some new people and those I used to talk to frequently! I miss being very active in this community so damn much!

      Oh and a P.S. I won't be at RTX this year, but I can promise you 100% you'll see me there in 2017 (;

      Love you all! xo

      I wasn't going to post anything about this man on here, but seeing as I'm still struggling to cope with the fact that the musical genius I had the pleasure of growing up listening to has died... I guess this is appropriate.

      Bowie has had a profound impact on my life, teaching myself and many others that it's okay to truly be themselves. The man never made anything he did less than perfect, really. The first time I heard his music was hearing the wonderfully popular song Space Oddity and I knew after that that I had needed to hear more and more of his voice. I decided to have a listen to the entire album and it immediately went to one of my favorite albums next to the incredible Mothership by Led Zeppelin and Idlewild South by The Allman Brothers Band. Bowie had wormed his way into my life in a flash, really, and I was quite happy from it.

      Overtime, I began listening to more and more of David Bowie's music, becoming a huge fan of his wonderful character Ziggy Stardust. He enamored me to the point of no return, I came to truly love this man without ever getting to meet him. His positive attitude coupled with his constant smile absolutely lit up a room. His music brought me out of constant ruts and always made me smile while I was down, especially Fame. I could get lost in the Young American album forever, just allowing it to play on a constant loop to calm my anxiety and pick me back up.

      Blackstar, his twenty-sixth spectacular album, was something that I was so excited about and was so happy to hear Bowie putting out new music for the first time since 2013. Dropping on his 69th birthday, Blackstar had finally hit the market. Getting to hear the song Blackstar just a few days before for the first time had gotten me so goddamn excited. When the album dropped just a measly six days ago, being that it is Thursday the fourteenth as I write this, I was quick to buy it (it is absolutely incredible if you haven't given it a listen yet, by the way!). This album took me by storm, similarly enough to how most of Bowie's albums had taken me. I listened to the seven song album on repeat all throughout the eighth and into the ninth of the month.

      At 1:30am est, I was sat at my computer on Twitter and listening to some Bowie, mostly older songs since I was in the mood. I was scrolling down my twitter feed when I had noticed a tweet that I never in my life thought I'd have to read, I thought the man was immortal really. "January 10 2016 - David Bowie died" was all I had to read for my breath to catch in my throat as an attempt to hold back tears that were already threatening to surface. I hoped it was faked. Man, did I hope it was fake. I couldn't believe it when I read it, it was far too much of a struggle for me to comprehend.

      I read the post over and over again, trying to grasp what I was reading. It hit me like a brick shithouse that this man was gone. I paused my music and stared into space for a good five minutes, not really knowing how to react, until I just started crying. Man, I cried myself to sleep that night. One of the worst nights of sleep I've gotten in my life to be completely honest. The entire next day, or technically the same day since this was announced on the eleventh here in New York, I was completely depressed and moped the entire time.

      The following day, I told myself that David Bowie wouldn't want anyone to be upset about his passing. Instead, he'd want them to go out and do something crazy. Try something new. Or even just be themselves. So I stopped being so upset and tried something new that day. Allowed myself to have a new experience. It was probably the best thing I could've done to somewhat remedy myself of the sadness (it did work, by the way!).

      Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say here is that yes, of course I'm still upset, but I'm going on. David Bowie will forever be in my heart. His songs will live on. He is a legend. The best of the best. Rest in peace, Starman.

        It's just a way of showing how active you are around the site. It goes up more the more you post journals, pictures, and write in forums. It also goes up the more people watch your profile!
