    • I'm Back

I've been really busy since I left Raleigh to go home for the summer. I worked 50+ hours at my part time job every week because the one of the full-timers had to take a medical leave of absence. While I was doing this, I got certified as a recreational scuba diver, so that I could go to the Nikon Underwater Photography School at Divi Tiara Resort, in Cayman Brac, B.W.I.

The diving was great. Unfortunately, I used a Nikonos V, a really slick underwater film camera, and shot E6 slide film the whole week I was there, so I don't have any of those pictures in digital format. Fortunately, my brother used a basic Nikon Coolpix digital camera in an underwater housing, and he took some cool pics of me.

Now that I am back at school and moved into my apartment things are slowing done a little, and now I have some time again. So in conclusion, I'm back.

I have been really busy with school (writing silly FORTRAN programs, and studying Calculus II), so I have not been on in a while.

    • My Computer (Part 3)

Here is a picture that actually shows my computer. Sorry about the flash.

In Part 2 I showed you mt TV tuner card. Sure it's great to have TV on your computer, but what good is TV if you don't hav a remote. Luckily for me, ATI makes a remote for my TV tuner card. It can also control the mouse, and any other functions you program it to. It is great for controlling any media player, and it uses 433 mHz radio waves so it works through walls.

Here is the next component of my computer, a TV tuner card. It's an ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0.

Here is my desk. If you are wondering where the PC is, it's in my desk drawer. If you are wondering how it would fit there I will give you a hint. It's not a desktop. That's right I have a laptop.
      comp1.jpg

I think that I will focus on a different part of my computer setup each day. I'll start with little stuff and work my way up. Here is the first one:

      USB External SoundBlaster
      prod154_hdr_1_6_1.jpg
It sounds a lot better than my internal sound card, I plug it directly into my port replicator and the RCA cables go to the AUX input on my shelf system's receiver. So my laptop is connected to those speakers any time it is docked.

If you look closely you can see it in the first picture.

I finally got an apartment line up for next semester. Three of my buddies and I are gonna get a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, apartment together. It should be finalized in the next week or so. Click Here to check it out.

If you want a new friend, add boogiewu. He seems like a cool guy.

    • I Hate my Fortran Class

I am in my FORTRAN class right now. Even though this is the third week of school, this is really the first week that this class is meeting. It is incredibly boring, and the professor types his notes on overheads in ALL CAPS. Ahhhhhh! Anyway, it is almost over for today, but it still sucks.

I got chosen to be part of some pilot program at my school, which means that I get Rhapsody for free for the semester. I guess that it's too cut down on illegal music downloading on campus.

I just watched Cellular tonight and it is a great movie. If you have not seen it yet, you should go rent it right now, becuase it is an awesome movie. But anyway, I can't stop thinking about how the movie would have happened in real life. I mean, what would I have done if someone called me saying that they had been kidnapped? It really makes you think. It is easy to say, "Oh yeah, I would have done that," but would I have really? I can't honestly say.

I have a Canon Powershot A70, and Kelly has a Canon Powershot A75. They both have the same megapixels and the same hardware. The A75 just has a little different body and a bigger LCD screen. They both take the same quality picture though. These were taken with the A75.
