This is for the disscussion of the motion picture based on the Knight Rider series. This has been LONG in development and may never happen. Here is the latest from ain't it cool news
The leaked car image is 100% fake -- like the other images plastered all over imdb's Knight Rider message boards. People are on the right track, but they're living too much in the past, and thinking too far into the future.
The Knight Rider movie is indeed moving forward, but the script is still being worked on.
The script will not involve Hasselhoff & will lean towards remaking the pilot episode, "Knight of the Phoenix", with a modernized take. In Hollywood, everyone wants to turn a movie into a franchise or trilogy: relaunching the concept as a franchise for a new generation has been insisted upon. Same characters, same concept of a talking/advanced car, different development.
As far as the Hasselhoff rumors go, this isn't the first time that he has tried to launch interest in the movie behind Glen's back. Hassellhoff made Knight Rider 2000 with Universal without Glen's involvement and we all know how well that went over right?
I would tend to believe hasselhoff did approach Orlando Bloom in Los Angeles about the possibility of playing his son; in the past he’d mentioned that a script was commissioned which involved Michael passing the torch to someone else. This was when the rights were with Revolution Studios. [READ MORE HERE]
Currently, if you read the announcement between Glen and the Weinstien Co., you will see the trend of David being left out as the movie negotiations continues. [READ MORE HERE]
There is no legal obligation stating that Hassellhoff needs to be involved with the movie. If you’re aware of the delicate relationship between David and Glen, you'll see why Glen isn't all that thrilled to invite David back.
Listen to the audio commentary on the Knight Rider Season 1 DVD set & you'll be able to hear exactly what I'm talking about. (David goes on and on like a parrot how Glen needs to make the movie and so on.)
Lastly I will give you one tidbit to savor: one of the concept cars proposed for the new KITT was based on the (then) 2006 concept Camaro, but it appeared nothing like any of the fan-boy manipulations you have seen thus far.
THIS IS NOT THE CAR, but is does look cool.
I liked the series enough that I would go and see the flick. I could care less if the HOFF was in it. I like the idea of a darker Knight Rider, seeing as how it's a dark concept. Anywho, this will definitly add fule to the fire that Hollywood is unoriginal.

We are a proud few. We who bear witness to our hero and villain’s exploits, the battles of our allies and adversaries, and the trials of our knights and dark lords. We who pass on the epic poems of success and sorrow, betrayal and redemption, victories and defeats, and those little moments that lighten our soul or break our hearts. We are the 13th Warriors.

It has been announced that Peter Jackson has signed a deal with Universal to produce a remake of the classic war flick, with his long time collaborator, Christian Rivers, making his directorial debut. Of course, Weta Workshop and Weta Digital will step up to make sure the movie looks great and, hopefully, provide us some of the best goddamn air combat visuals we've seen on the silver screen since STAR WARS. In fact, one of the reasons the original jumped so high up on my "want to see" list was the bit of trivia that Lucas based much of the attack on the Death Star sequence on THE DAM BUSTERS.
In March 1943, a group of airmen drawn from across the ranks of the RAF were assembled and trained for an unprecedented and potentially deadly assignment whose complete nature was not revealed to them. This largely hand-picked group, known as 617 Squadronâ€â€including pilots from Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the USAâ€â€were led by Wing Cmdr. Guy Gibson. They had only seven weeks to train with exercises that imitated, but never revealed, their ultimate intent: to fly deep within well-armed Germany at tree top level and destroy three dams that were essential to the Nazi steel industry. A revolutionary “bouncing†bomb that could skip across water had been developed by a visionary scientist, Barnes Wallis, but to be effective, the bomb had to be dropped from a terrifyingly close range and at very low altitude. In specially-modified Lancaster aircraft, the airmen trained for a single mission, the likes of which had never been undertaken and whose potential for success was small.
the story sounds great!!! and with weta doing the effects we should see some top notch dog fights!!
