I found this - an ongoing list of all the songs identified during episodes of How I Met Your Mother. There's some really awesome songs in there that I know I'd never have heard otherwise, so hope it's as useful to all of you as it is to me.

In case you didn't realise, The Bro Code - often alluded to in the show by none other than the legen - wait for it - dary Barney Stinson, has been written and published.

Does anyone here have a copy? I'll no doubt be ordering mine fairly shortly.

Couldn't find anything in the Archive on this so I assume it hasn't been made already.

      Trailer.

Run, Fatboy, Run is a forthcoming film directed by David Schwimmer [Ross from Friends], starring Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran, and Thandie Newton.

      Plot [from wikipedia]:

"Overly lazy and commitment-phobic, Dennis (Simon Pegg) suffers a minor breakdown and ditches his pregnant girlfriend Libby (Thandie Newton) at the altar. Ten years later, Dennis realizes just how big a mistake he made. But just as Dennis sets out with his young son to woo her back, he learns that a flashy new suitor (Hank Azaria) has claimed her heart. So, in order to win her back, Dennis decides to prove himself by stop being lazy and begins training for his first marathon with his over-sexed best friend (Dylan Moran) as his coach. In way over his head, Dennis' pathetic attempt culminates in what may be the most spirited but hilarious race ever run."

Trailer looks a bit hilarious, I reckon this'll be another hit. Definitely going to go see this when it's out =].

I couldn't find anything on this in the archive so here it is.

Blue Dragon is an RPG developed for Xbox 360 by Mistwalker and Artoon, released in Japan [with much praise by a LOT of people] on December 12th 2006, and it's scheduled for a European and US launch on August 24th and August 28th respectively. It's the first Xbox 360 game to be held on three DVDs.

It was designed by Hironobu Sakaguchi - the creator of the Final Fantasy series, and the artwork was all drawn by Akira Toriyama - the guy who did the artwork for DragonBall, the Dragon Quest games, and Chrono Trigger.

The game gets it's name from the Shadows that the characters use to battle with, which are all blue. Shu, the main character, has a Dragon Shadow. In battle, you direct the actions of the Shadows, which do all the attacking and spell-casting.

The cutscenes are entertaining, and the voice acting is actually rather good too.

It's had a lot of praise from a lot of video game magazines and websites, and from the demo they released on the marketplace, I can agree with them that this game will be incredible.

I'll be getting it on launch date, along with my 360 Elite.

    • Bill Bailey

For those of you that don't know, he's a British comedian, and a damn good one at that. In fact, he's my favourite comedian ever.

He's starred in both tv and film roles (e.g. Black Books and Hot Fuzz), presented Have I Got News For You, been a regular team captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, had his own series Is It Bill Bailey?.

And he's had a number of stand-up tours:
      - Cosmic Jam
      - Bewilderness
      - Part Troll
      - Tinselworm (coming in November 2007).

So, there's gotta be some fans here (if you haven't heard of him, run a YouTube search), and I want to know, what's your favourite Bill Bailey part? Manny in Black Books? Bilbo Bagshot in Spaced? Or one of his stand-up tours?

My favourite tour would probably be Part Troll - only marginally, as all his tours are awesome. However, I love his role of Manny the most.

Oh, and I'm lucky enough to be seeing him on his Tinselworm tour =D.

Possibly my second favourite comedy series ever, after Black Books, Spaced ran on Channel 4 in the UK from September 1999 to April 2001. It stars Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson as the two main characters, as well as Julia Deakin, Mark Heap, Katy Carmichael and Nick Frost.

From the back of The Definitive Edition:

"Spaced revolves around two idle twentysomething flatmates - immature skateboarding would-be comic artist Tim (Simon Pegg), and moody, responsibility-shy writer Daisy (Jessica Stevenson), and their self-induced lack of success in employment, relationships and life in general. Together with their oddball assortment of friends and neighbours: Marsha, Brian, Mike and Twist, they exist in a world perched precariously on the edge of normality."

This series is ace. Whilst it only ran for two seasons, every episode is original and hilarious. There's a ton of cult references embedded throughout the series as well.

One of the best scenes is where Tim, Mike and Brian have a slow-motion gunfight in Tim and Daisy's flat... With their hands.

YouTube "Spaced" for clips if you're interested.

      And show some love!

The triple jumper Jonathan Edwards came to my school to visit when I was 6 or 7, a few years before he got the world record.

He was not dressed as Jack Sparrow though, a wise decision considering it would be about a decade before the first PotC film came out.

I know I need to do something to make sure he goes. Trust me, he'd regret it (and I'd be pissed) if he went to Circa instead. I've been planning this for a long time, and spent way too much money, for him to just dip out. He's going to love me forever for buying him that guitar.

I'll be happy to play tour guide at that point. As for following you up north, that depends not on you but on my schedule. The music industry never sleeps and I'm reasonably sure I'll be expected to never sleep as well. Not to mention there isn't a whole lot up north... only big city is Sacramento and it's only interesting there if you're interested in American politics at the state level.

Nice. Assuming I'm not going out of my mind with being busy at that point, maybe I'll use that as an excuse to accompany you up north, at least as far as San Francisco. It's just a six hour or so journey, because to be perfectly honest there isn't a whole lot between Los Angeles and the Bay Area that's worth seeing. Unless you're overly fond of cows. And since you aren't Welsh (unless there's something you haven't told me), I don't think livestock is your thing.

Sit down and get some tissues handy:

Steven Moffat says the new Weeping Angels' two parter in sequel terms "Is the equivalent of... Aliens coming after Alien."

Use the tissues to clean up the jiz in your pants. ; )
