at the end of the tunnel. In a short 4 months I will be finishing my masters degree. That means that I will be done with school forever. I will also need to be finding a real job now which makes me uber excited (is that weird?). It's been long journey of learning but it's almost done.

Sorry for the non updates for so long. School has my soul lately and it makes me mad most days. How has everyone been? I suspect that not many people will read seeing as though that I've been gone for so long, but thanks to those who take the time. Hit me up on the Xbox if you want to game sometime, I love that damn thing these days. That's all for now.

      Later, Matt.

    • Been busy and the XBox has my soul.

I have been a busy little beaver lately. Putting in 10 hour days in the lab, teaching and all of that jazz. I barely have time to breathe. I have fallen in love with my XBox 360. I have always been a Playstation guy, but since the 360 had all kinds of awesome games out before the PS3 even came out so I decided to give it a shot. And I love it. It is all kinds of fun.

I have also come to realize that there are about a bajillion good cds out there that I need to buy. I just wish I had the money. Oh well, in a couple of months I will have a real job and that problem will be remedied. I guess that's all for now. I would write more but I have nothing else going on and I'm a boring guy.

      Later, Matt.

    • Let me reflect for a moment.

I have been on this wonderful site that we all Red vs. Blue for close to four years now. I would like to take some time now and share with you all what has gone on in those four marvelous years.

When I joined this site I was a bright eyed kid in my sophomore year of college. That turned out to be the toughest year of college that I had. There were times when I was ready to quit. In the spring of that year I also proposed to my then girlfriend and now wife. She said yes of course and made me a very happy dude. All in all it was a good year.

Two years later was my senior year of college. It was a very busy but good year. It was in that year that I had to apply to graduate shcool, pick a school, pack up all my crap and move to that new town. I also got married to my wonderful wife in the summer of that year. We then moved down from Duluth to Milwaukee, 500miles, 7 hours and almost no rental truck ( that is another story in its own). We were broke for a while in our new town but we somehow managed to come out just fine.

I have completed my first year of graduate school and am now in my VERY LAST YEAR OF SCHOOL EVER!!! I am very excited. I should have my masters degree in Organic Chemistry by this tiime next year. The wife and I love each other more and more every day ( sorry for the sappy moment there). I have been to a number of rockin good concerts in those four years as well. Far too many to count. I have met some really cool people, and also have made some really cool friends here on this fine website. Well that has been my time here on Red vs. Blue. Sorry for the relative inactivity on this site recently but as you can see, I have been a busy man. I hope that you all like this little snippet of my life. Feel free to share yours with me. That's all for now.

      Later, Matt.

    • It's got my vote.

The Dark Knight has my vote for best movie of the summer and most likely the best movie of 2008 altogether. There wasn't a dull moment in this fine motion picture. It was action packed and the acting was superb all around. Heath Ledger did an amazing job as the joker. It makes me sad to know that he is no longer with us and that he can't reprise his role in a possible sequel.

Well that"s what I think about the movie what about you guys?

    • Finally got it.....

      juice5420

What did I finally get you may ask? I just got the tattoo that I asked you guys to design for me a while ago. It's a little different than what I had pictured but it is so much better than my original idea. So for all of you out there here it is.

      m_2bb1556b8c9a845878429ed19feca463.jpg

Let me know what you think. It was done by Andy Hunt in the fine city of Green Bay, at Artrageous Ink. I had a fun 3 hours in that chair let me tell you what.

      Talk to you all later,
      Matt.

    • Hello Again.

So much for giving away all of those mods that I had planned on. Oh well. I am heading of to Las Vegas next Saturday. I'm really looking forward to the trip. I need a vacation from my reasearch. Currently nothing is working and I am starting to get a little frustrated but I'll just plow through I guess.

I'm done with my first year of grad school and only have one more class I have to take and I'll be done for good. HOOOORRRAAAYYY!!!!!!

The wife and I have been married for a year now and it is great. I couldn't be happier.

Sorry for the inactivity on the site, I have been really busy lately.

      Talk to you later,
      Matt.

    • I want your help!!!

      juice5420

All right folks, how have you all been. I need your help. This June I shall be going to Las Vegas and while I am there I am planning on getting a tatoo. I know exactly what I want, the only problem is that I can't draw to save my life. I know a lot of you out there can draw really well and I know that you know people on here who can draw really well. With that being said I have a proposal.

I would like to hold a contest where you people draw my tatoo for me. I will give you all of the mods I have now, plus whatever I have after I get back from Vegas in June. If you don't need or want the mods, then just do it for fun but I want your help.

This is what I want it to look like, I am a big metal fan, everyone knows that at metal shows everyone gives the band the "devil horns" as a sign that they kick ass. I want that but here how it has to be.

I want a skeleton hand in the shape of metal horns coming up out of a grave. Behind the horns I want a tombstone that says simply R.I.P. Also in the background I would like to see a crescent moon and a really spooky looking tree. That is what I want for a tatoo.

So to all of my friends here, please tell anyone and everyone you know who has any kind of artistic ability to help me out with this one. I would really appreciate it. I will talk to you all later.

      Later, Matt.

    • I love Video Games.

It's true, I really do. Today I decided to make good on my new 13 month XBL christmas present that I got. So I popped in COD4 and played a little free-for all. Seeing as though I don't play online that much, I thought that I was going to get my ass handed to me constantly. I was pleastanly surprised to see that COD4 matches you up with players of your own skill level. With that being said, I had a glorious time. I was able to start shooting dudes in no time. I even made it all the way to Lance Corporal. I think that I shall be playing more of that game more often. I have yet to play Mass Effect but I think that I will start soon. That game looks awesome. Assassin's Creed is pretty boss as well.

On a side note, I was considering making a journal that listed my top picks for metal cds that came out in 2007. However, I doubt that many of you care about my choices or metal in general. I will only do this if I get enough requests for it.

School starts in a little over a week. Graduate school is going a hell of a lot faster than normal college. I can't wait to be done and graduated so I can get my ass a job and a house and start a family with my awesome wife. Well I guess that's all for now. I'll speak at you people in the future.

      Later, Matt.

    • Happy Times / Warning.... Angry Rant

      juice5420

      Hello people,
How are all of you doing out there. As of 1:00pm central standard time, my first semester of graduate school came to end. This was the quickest semester of college that I have ever had. I would have to say that it went pretty well. Teaching wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I'm pretty sure I did well in all my classes, I'll just have to wait for my grades to come in.

Next week I get to go home for Christmas and see all my family. I can't wait. I am vey excited to see them all again.

Now for the angry rant part. (Warning.... fowl language may be used) Everyday (just about) I have to travel to Milwaukee for school. This requires me to hop on the interstate. I f---ing hate that highway. People need to learn how to drive. These people like to weave in and out of traffic at crazy speeds. This makes it more dangerous now that snow has begun to fly. Do these people want to get into accidents and pay thousands of dollars to fix their cars? I think that about 60% of them need to go back to Driver's Education.

With that being said, I wish you all a very happy holiday. May you get all the sweet loot you want, and have a good and safe time.

      Later, Matt.

I personally am a graduate student in chemistry. Currently I'm working on synthesizing new molecules for electronic studies.

If you would like to share what you are doing with everyone else this is the place to do so. I look forward to any responses and discussions.

It's by no means a great game and is very frustrating how easy it is to die. But I enjoy the amount of items that drop and the fast insanity of some battles. Playing online co-op is fun but the difficulty shoots up and for the guest your connection will drop often that can really break up the action, but it's easy enough to just invite back.

My ultimate opinion, not worth the 60, but fun enough to rent for a week or so. Or if you can find a deal somewhere, like maybe 40 it could be worth it, just not 60. Plus it depends on how much of a fan of rpg's you are, like will you really want to work towards getting your 5 classes up level 50 each (the max). But a decent note, your game save will carry over to the next too human (as it's gonna be a trilogy) so getting your characters so high will give you a good boost in the nest game.

Yeah, that was the back of my calf. It actually wasn't too bad at all for most of it. Just near the back of the knee and when it got down to the achilles tendon.

for the most part though, people freak out about 5-6 inches of snow and i'm like ... i've driven through 3-4 feet of it when we got 2 storms in a week and our road wasn't plowed, I had snow comming over the hood of my truck! :-D

I figured those on a salary based job or those who get the same hours each week wont have any real use of the program, less they wanted to know what they "Could" make if they were paid more smiley8.gif

Or you can calculate in the long run what you will make in a month, year, etc
