    • KITTY KAMIR!!!

      katti

My Vati-pal and co got a new kitty-katty-kins!! He's called Kamir! He's the best pal ever! Cutest in the world! The thing is, I know I am not very level-headed when it comes to cats, so I thought I'd make a survey to find out just how adorable he really is. Here is the exhibit, Kamir:

      Kamir.jpg

I wanted him to be called Silvester or Sol but Annika just said Kamir Kamir Kamir Kamir and now that is his name. I think it's because she and Emily have been watching a lot of anime and films by Hayao Miyazaki. They are becoming much cooler than me, while I sit in my room thinking about cats all day. But hey, it's not a bad life.

Do question thingy plis. Okay thanks.

Very confusing moment ... everyone saying I'm Featured User on here or some shit but I think it's gone away now ... phewwww.

Anyway I put some goggles and some body amour on and logged on the site to see what was in Lordy's name was happening and everything looks like FACEBOOK right now! What is going on? Did I do this??

I think I should go back to bed. Maybe the Doctor will come and make everything cool. I hope that most days.

    • Christmas Pizzer

      katti

I am quite aware that it is now mid January but I briefly lost my camera and wasn't able to share with any of you the wonder of CHRISTMAS PIZZER!! (For more info, see video link on last journal)

      Here is Christmas Pizzer pre-cooked:
      CIMG2091.jpg
With a topping comprising of cheese and crackers, nutty-nut-nuts, fruit cake, Cointreau filled choccies and a candy cane

      PIZZERRR COOKED
      CIMG2092.jpg

Now proceed to share your astonished praise.

I know I have just proved that I am an innovative genius, but today I am having trouble being motivated. I have all these New Year Resolutions and all I can bring myself to do is drink cups of tea. I don't fare well when the hours of daylight are so meager. How do you motivate yourself in the winter?

Have YOU been lucky enough to come across Bubble Tea, the new drink trend from Asia? BUBBLE TEA?!!

      bubble-tea.gif

It’s basically like drinking warm syrup with bits of pasta in, which may or may not pop in your mouth if you asked for ‘popping boba’ – a wholly disconcerting experience if you ask me.

I took my sister to a Bubble Tea (or ‘Babel T’) shop at the weekend, because she wanted some yoghurt. It didn’t make much sense to me, but they did in fact have yoghurt on the menu. We were presented, however, with something not very yoghurty at all – rather more liquidy and half see-through and suspiciously like … BUBBLE TEA! Emily, being related to me and therefore having exceptionally good judgement, didn’t want to drink the tea. I took it back to the ‘Bubble Bar’.

“Excuse me, but we ordered yoghurt”
Bubble Lady looks at me. “That is yoghurt”
I look at the tea. I look at Bubble Lady. “No, that’s not yoghurt”
“It is. Look, it says ‘yoghurt’ on it”
“Yes it does. However, it isn’t yoghurt”
Long perplexed pause ensues. “… we don’t give refunds”
“That’s fine. I’m just informing you that this isn’t yoghurt. You may have this back”
      “It is yoghurt.”
      And so on…

There are about 6 of these shops that have appeared on my road. Where do they come from?? Bubble Tea???
      I personally prefer Christmas Bonbonbonbons

    • Annika

      katti

Some of you have known me on here total long times, which means that you'll know that my youngest sisterlette, the stupidly adorable (if not slightly derranged) Annika, used to suffer from leukemia. Five years later, and she is officially CURED!

This Saturday we are having a big family party in her honour - it's an extremely happy occasion! And I wanted to mention it on here, because at the time I got so very much support from people on this site, people that didn't even know Annika. And the kindness truly helped me to cope. So thank you, my red and blue chums smiley12.gif

    • Katti on the Telly with Nits

      katti

Thursday was my birthday, but I couldn't go out and get trollied last night because my darling sister was generous enough to give me nits! ISN'T THAT HORRIBLE! So I spent the evening mass murdering them. The nits, that is. When I was younger I used to feel sorry for them, but at the end of the day they have no squatters rights to live in my hair. I forgave my sister after she showed me her newest dance, where she shouts 'rhythm is a dancer', whilst doing the moves to 'walk like an Egyptian' and looking very angry. Hehehe!

In other news, you may or may not know that I am interning at an international news broadcasting company!! Every other week I am the picture editor for the news, which involves me making maps with a person next to it while they are being telephoned, e.g. "Now over to our correspondent in New York to comment on Occupy Wall Street" ...
      Screenshot2011-10-23at213859.png
      "Thanks, Mike"

Mostly though, it involves me having near break downs because I have no idea what I'm doing!! But the weeks in between I'm shadowing and got to be part of the crew when we were shooting outside parliament. They let me use the stopwatch! WOOOO!!! And they panned out to the crew in the show so I was ACTUALLY on telly. No shittin!

On Tuesday I am helping someone audition to be a presenter, and this entails me being a fake guest on a show. At one point I have to pretend to be a Historian and Professor of Middle Eastern Studies and spontaneously comment on the Arab Spring!! Uhhhhh HELP?!!!

You can await my next thrilling journal, in which Katti makes a tit of herself on camera. Such joy!

    • When the Katti met the Phoenix

      katti

Saturday night was the night I met someone from RvB who is not from sunny England for the first time! And I was quite literally swept off my feet, because this is how the Phoenixrage makes fraaanddss!! I knew he was going to from the crazy look in his eyes. What a joy.

AND WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! HERE IS A PICTURE OF A PHOENIX WITH A (particularly jazzy) LONG ISLAND ICE TEA TO PROVE IT
      IMG_0064.jpg
How can you not be completely delighted with a beverage like that?

Katti was basically getting really drunk, laughing like a drain, rambling for England (I mean talking a lot, not climbing mountains) and insisting we go to this super German old man bar where they call me sexy lady. Phoenix did not seem to mind. All in all it was a dizzy and brilliant night and everyone should come here because we are amazing and we will sprinkle you with happy dust!! That is a serious offer.

Come back soon Phoenix! You are a terrific pal! And also very awesome and great. Everyone should meet him if they haven't already!

    • Katti on a Boat Ride!

      katti

On a freakishly sunny October day in WONDERFUL Berlin, I met some friends at a Turkish market and we sat at a riverbank. We watched and waved at the passing boats like loons. Not many people waved back, but rather looked at us like ... er ... loons. We saw a moustachioed German fellow steering a boat and I said 'he looks like a cool kind of dude. He'll wave to us, by Jove!'. So we waved at him and he waved back and said 'You want to come along' and we all said 'JAWOHLLLL', so he stopped his boat and we hopped on! It was amazing! We had somehow stumbled upon a sunset tour of the city atop a pea green boat and Sailor German was letting the boys steer and everything. He didn't let me steer though, because I am clearly a navel retard with orange hair. Here are some snappy-snaps I made:

      CIMG1911.jpg

      CIMG1905.jpg

      CIMG1900.jpg

      CIMG1898.jpg

What a lovely city! But the story doesn't end there, folks and folkettes. After two hours it became clear that this wasn't simply a free tour with an amusing character, but rather free labour for a looney! He made it clear we were not going to be dropped off any time soon and began barking orders at all the boys when we got to the locks etc. 'PULL THE ROPE, have you never sailed a boat before VERDAMMTE SHEISSE'. I believe no was the answer to that. By the third hour the sun was going down and we were cold, hungry and needed to wee wee. When we stopped the boat at a lock there were spiders EVERYWHERE and being a pathological pussy I was ready to jump overboard to avoid them. Four hours after our departure he let us off and said 'you can ride again with me anytime!' Thanks a lot Captain Crazy.

In other news phoenixrage FORUM MOD and I are hosting an RvB-Berlin event, consisting of, uh, us, and we are going to have a great time and you are all going to be bored and crying.

      CHIRRUPP!!

So this is the view from my new flat! Sehr fantastisch, ja?? It's great to watch the trams and the trains go by.

Brilliant to finally be here properly and am fast befriending my new h-mates. They came with me to the Bear Hole gay bar of their own free will! SUCCESS!! Those lovely male inclined chappies will never lose my custom!

On the other foot, the bureaucracy here is a bloody nightmare. You have to register in your area, so yesterday I went to the registration office 5 minutes after it opened (8:05) and took a ticket. I was already number fifty-bleedin'-three! So I waited. And waited. And an hour later I realised I'd forgotten my passport at home! Oh nooooo! I am truly a dummkopf of the highest order. But since it was still nowhere near my number I decided to pace it back home, fetch my passport and pace it back again, which took another good hour.

Guess what number it was when I arrived back? No, guess.

Number fifty-blathering-five I kid you not! I had narrowly missed my appointment and so had to take another ticket and wait a further two hours. Appointment itself took three minutes. Needless to say, I got back home as tired as a sloth with narcolepsy and slept for three and a half hours to recover from the ordeal.

Today I had to go to some other joyous office to give the sausage lovers the privilege of taxing me.

HOWEVER, apart from that I am a dandy dandelion! With knobs on. Except I accidentally have no money and may well have starved to death by this time next week. May as well end on a cliff hanger.

It's bad stuff the government passed here in the US. The NDAA allows them to indefinitely detain citizens they suspect of terrorism, and SOPA would allow American companies to shutdown webpages to "protect" copyrights. There are way better explanations out there.

TLDR; both are really shitty and bad. smiley0.gif

To be fair, RI is so small (relative to other states) that a lot of Americans don't know where we are either. And RI is part of the "New England" region of the US, so if you ever came by here it'd be just like your home. Well, minus the rain, that's where the New comes in. Oh and we polished everything, because it's New. And we make you take off your shoes before you set foot on any of the New England states, because the soil is New and we don't want to get mud or dirt all over it otherwise we'd have to steam clean it and that gets expensive over thousands of square miles.

You should've told me you were using google earth, I would have gone outside to wave hello. I mean I'd have to call in a favor from my friends in satellite mapping to have them to a fresh fly by to make sure they capture me waving hi and had stood still for however long, but I think it would have been worth it for making you play Where's Paul-o. And it would have been an excuse to wear my stylish red and white striped sweater and hat.

This. Now, for every time I have a poor quality beer there, I will go to your side of Germany and wait at your door until you show up, then demand that the money spent be refurbished. Internet posts are as good as legally binding contracts! Now I'll go through my friend list and figure out which one is a lawyer so he/she can back me up on my outlandish claim, then go through it again and find a crooked lawyer in case I'm wrong.

That's actually the only reason I'm moving there. I woke up one morning and thought, "Hey, liver." "What's up, Organ Prime?" "I don't like you." "What?!" "Yeah, it's nothing personal, so it's time to end you." "No, don't do it, I'll take us both down with you!" "Well that's a risk I'll have to take!" "Noooo!" "The verdict: death by gallons of beer!" "AHHH!"

That, and one of my majors is in German. For our Uni it requires that we spend a year abroad with 6 months of it at another Uni (Braunschweig for me) and then the other 6 months at an internship abroad. I'm hoping to land something with ZF or Siemens, but we'll see. In the meantime it's just been getting things ready for the jump across the pond so I can fluently butcher a German accent ;P

I approve and improve on Beer Gardens: we take an RvB Flag and hold the place hostage, declaring it independent sovereign soil and begin the nation of Roosteria. I'll print out the forms from Google for what we need to submit to the UN to make it happen. It'll be wicked awesome to see you ^_^

Well, maybe the word 'angsty' doesn't apply in your case, but what I meant was the feeling of frustration, of not really knowing what is going on, but while there are a few things going on, none of them really seem to capable of working out long-term.
