This doesn't seems like a great first journal entry for 2013 (two thousand thirteen) but meh. Gotta start somewhere. So, I finished my New Zealand Chronicle journal series and I don't think I'll really post any of them up. Reading through them seemed too personal and critical of my time in New Zealand (plus I linked my Rooster Teeth profile to my facebook but I doubt any of my "friends" will read this).
So, I'm back here in my hometown and I have lost almost all kinds of motivation. It sucks and it's hard to self-motivate. I prefer a strict scheduled timetable that was assigned to me. My solution was using my old timetable and substituting my own subjects for my next goal. God damn it, it's hard. I get part way through my first topic and wonder what's new on Reddit and other various sites.
Then like a baseball getting bigger and bigger... It hit me.
My productivity in New Zealand was much better and I know why. The internet was insanely expensive. Also, I went out a lot to study at the university's library until closing time and later moved to another venue (usually Starbucks). Realistically, limiting my internet usage seems the "easiest". It has been said and so it shall be done starting tonight... after I watch an old Rooster Teeth video podcast.
Word of the day (to expand my vocabulary): Esoteric.
- belong to a select few
- understood by or meant only for a select few who have special knowledge or interest.
I've been reading a book. It was first published in 1961. I started a new rule when reading books: If I can't simply describe or define a word that I recognise I have to write it down and look it up. To keep this journal relatively short... there are a lot of words that I do not know.

I’m pretty much speechless (in a "I just don't know" way) about the VGA’s this year. I haven’t played The Walking Dead Game by Tell Tales yet but I’ve been hearing it’s pretty good and it fit the “cult hit” category.
Overall, I enjoyed the VGA’s. The problem is how the VGA’s are delivered… who are the audience? It felt very MTV Award-ish with a splash of Grammy flair. If Spike wants the VGA’s to be the yard-stick of where other awards are to be measured relatively, they gotta take it a bit more seriously.
Then again, are we viewing video games as Art or an entertainment form? The VGA’s was on the far side of entertainment (and marketing).
TL;DR – I enjoyed it but didn’t take it seriously.
What about you, guys? Did you watch it? Ratings, reviews, thoughts?

Sunday, September 1, 2012.
So, I'm going to attempt to write a journal series of my experience and thoughts during my last few weeks of living in Auckland, New Zealand. It's actually a bit sad because none of my friends here know that I'm not really going to finish university once this year is done and I don't really have the heart to tell any of them because I'd be too sad to function because of the thought of not seeing them for quite a long time...plus gossip spreads like wild fire.
I've learnt quite a lot during my time here in New Zealand. I've got to experience living alone, paying bills, etc. Pretty important experiences with obstacles such as freedom and priorities, especially at a relatively young age.
Anyways, I'll be writing maybe two entries a week. That should be sufficient and shouldn't be too overwhelming for me to write and for you guys to read.
edit: Date added of when it journal entry was written and getting rid of the euro sign and trademark sign due to copying and pasting from word/pages.

Mando'ade is the term given to people from the planet Mandalore, it is actually more of people who were brought up in the culture of the Mandalorians, since the Mandalorians is not really a race but more of a culture. Mando'ade is Mandalorian in Mando'a (the language). So in Basic (sometimes known as English), Mandalorian is the language, the people and the culture.
There's some expanding Star Wars universe knowledge for you.
Back to relevancy, everyone here sounds like Jango Fett. Awesome.
So, I am in a New country and in this New country I am studying. I've lived here almost 3-ish months now and it's pretty great so far. The people are cool and intimidating at the same time. I'm still trying to formulate a generalization of the culture here because it is nothing like the stereotypes that I've seen and heard when visiting here in short bursts. I haven't seen so many pretty people (I'm mostly talking about the girls but I also have to acknowledge the guys too because now I gotta put more effort to compete with them), compared with where I lived previous... well more on that later.
Studies are going great. Grades are relatively high (80-90%-ish), except for one subject (around 60%). Will have to work on that one. The first term was great, I put way too much effort and reaping the benefits but now in the second term I am exhausted, my grades are slipping and concentration seems to be sporadic. My four hour time travel doesn't help either but I do enjoy meeting some people on the train.
To combat the ridiculous 4 hour travel time (two hours one way) I'm going to move into the city. Which is gonna be expensive but is gonna be freakin' fantastic. Not only am I closer to school and more time to study but the bars, clubs, gym and other leisure centres are within walking distance! I can't wait.
For the first term, I was running on this energy drink. Got me through the nights and the mornings. Unfortunately, I think I have to stop drinking them for a while and go down a healthier route. Will I miss it? Well, not desperately. It does taste better and is relatively cheaper than Red Bull.
Hope it's alright starting a new thread. Just wanted a place for people to ask about things to do in NZ and anything related.
So, here I go. First week in Auckland. Pretty good so far (except that the food is sometimes ridiculously expensive compared to where I lived before). Got to ask, is there anything to do at night? Is there a night life somewhere?

1/1/12 (it’s actually 2/1/12 but just go with it, please).
This was my first time to have New Year’s in the air. It was pretty awesome but very tiring. Couldn’t really kiss a random girl on the plane, so that sucked because there was a really pretty girl across from where I was sitting.
So, what was I doing on a plane during New Years’ Day? (Yeah, Multiple New Year’s since I was crossing each time zone and most probably coinciding with a few of their Midnights). Well, I was coming from Paris! God, that was a tiring trip. A three day trip, which consisted of arriving and going to The Palace of Versailles and Notre Dame on the same day. Then the next day going to the Eiffel Tower, the outside of The Louvre, a lovely and delicious pastry store (Ladurée) and then eating at the greatest restaurant I have ever eaten at to date (Le “Relais de l'Entrecôte”). Totally worth the one hour wait in the freezing rain. Then the last day, leaving in the morning of December 31st and arriving at 0700 in the morning of January 1st. Happy New Year.
Since it’s a new year, I’m also posting a new photo of myself. Ever so closer to revealing my face. You can actually see my skin and my hair now!
This month I also start school again but in a different country, so it’s a pretty great new beginning. Gonna be working my ass off. And with the ridiculously limited and overpriced internet service over there, I’m sure the internet is gonna be less of a distraction. Great new beginning in the long run but right now, it’s off to a bad start. I’m ill-prepared and late. I still haven’t gotten my student visa and selected the subjects I want to study 0.0
I am excited and scared at the same time. Haven’t studied abroad before and haven’t really been alone for long periods of time. So, this will be a great experience.
I’ve been living here for 19 years now (moved here when I was 2 years old) and I love living here. Where exactly is here? It’s Hong Kong. And to shove off your stereotypical and racist thoughts, there aren’t dojos (they’re japanese) or temples all over or shaolin monks walking all over the place (but there are a few but not really shaolin) Hong Kong is... You know what? There’s an amazing video about the international city of what Hong Kong is and should cover and go beyond what I was gonna say about Hong Kong anyway. I’m gonna miss this place. It’s a pretty big deal leaving a place, especially when having dreams and thoughts about studying abroad but when it finally happens it gets heavy on your heart.
timelapse HONG KONG
Anyways! How were your parties, get-togethers and stay-at-homes? Hope they were epic and a night you won’t forget.
Happy New Year, guys! Let’s start this shit.
P.S. Not really a resolution but I’m gonna tone down on my cussing/cursing/swearing... whatever.
P.P.S. Ever in Hong Kong as a tourist (or traveller), hit me up!

24/12/11 - A Christmas Atmosphere (Skyrim)
It's been a great first year with Rooster Teeth. I think I finally found a site to visit everyday, a blog to continue and a community to be a part of for a very long time.
Before this I was usually at GameSpot. I had a great blog series that I loved writing but it became tiring when it's just about gaming. The community was great when you went looking for the right people but the amount of flamebaits and fanboys is a reason just to give up commenting to stop feeding them.
This place isn't perfect but compared to GameSpot, everyone seems more respectful and takes responsibility for each and every comment. And if you do mess up, your account/profile is easy to find and fuck up. hehe. The anonymity here is present but doesn't seem to be the "anonymity of the internet", you know what I mean?
The Rooster Teeth Podcast was the closer for me to finally sign up for an account. It's a non-bullshit (to some certain extent when it comes to facts), truthful, realistic podcast with a likable cast. Hope for more episodes next year and lucky to have past episodes to catch up on! (Especially since my commute to school next year will be approx. 50 minutes -.-).
Anyways, last night I went out with my friends after not seeing them for almost a year and bit. I fucking missed them. I forgot how fun it was to hang around them, drink along side them and hear stupid theories, stories and so on from them. Happy Birthday to the two "J's" yesterday! I hope to see you all very soon. I'll miss you guys. Thanks for the great pre-Christmas (eve) party!
I have a huge headache right now. So, I hope you guys have a great Christmas (and a happy holiday)!
edit: Hope you guys have the time to listen to the soundtrack because it's just magical and warm. It always gives me chills! Enjoy =)

Well that was my poor attempt at puns. If you don't get it, it's supposed to say "I'll plant that on your foot" and replacing "plant that" with "plantar" because... well, you'll find out below.
Gonna do an "update blog" so you guys following me (all two of you) know what's up in my everyday life. Also, I ran out of ideas of what else to write to keep this journal interesting. Actually I have loads of ideas but because of a few things (you'll find out in a later entry) I don't have time to write a deep and relatively long journal entry because I have approximately 30 minutes left before midnight.
So, I haven't gone running in a long while. In such a long while that my legs have become chicken legs again. Like I actually lost some muscle mass down there. It's a very discouraging sight, especially since I used to be a middle distance runner and a high jumper. I worked so hard to make them look so fabulously... masculine (I'm sure that the adjectives cancel each other out, right?).
Two reasons why it's been difficult to go running recently. 1) I injured my right ankle in a biking accident. Loose earth, slipped down the side of a hill, foot was positioned in a weird way that I almost tore my tendon. It's all better now but couldn't run during that time. 2) There was a tiny plantar wart growing(?) a few months after my tendon healed. Get it now? "Plantar"? I'll "plant that"?. Laaaaame...
And there it is, in the photo above. I actually had it cryo-treated, that's why it's all black now. I'm guessing it went through frostbiting to kill the wart. Didn't hurt that much during the cryo treatment but it's afterwards that hurt like a bitch! Now I know how steaks feel like when I'm defrosting them. It's now a scab, I think it is by the looks of it, and all I have to do is wait for it to fall off! (I tried to blur it out a bit on photoshop to lower it's disgusting rating.
I also tried resizing it but the bbcode won't work =S).
Oh, what's that you say? What is that blue thing behind my foot?
They're epic looking aren't they? Well, they feel great on my left foot! Hopefully it'll just be a few more days till I get to fully appreciate the feel and start looking like a badass bro again!
Cya around (and I had one minute to spare till midnight!).
edit: resized the image on photoshop. If you want to see a larger version, I have no idea why you'd want to, here's the link! It's still slight blurred out - Planted! and on a related note
